Yang frowned as Ruby went over the game plan for classes that day.
“And since Blake is sick and she’s your partner, would you mind staying with her, sis?” Ruby asked her, shooting a worried look at Blake.
“Nobody is staying with me. Go to class.” Came a miserable groan from Blake’s bunk. “Just leave me here to die.”
“Don’t be so dramatic.” Yang cooed gently. “You’re fine. I’m going to stay and look after you and the girls will take notes for us.” She said, nodding at the others as they quietly made their leave to avoid an argument with Blake.
“I don’t need to be looked after.” Blake whined. Which, if Yang was being honest with herself, was not a word that she thought she’d ever associate with Blake.
“Blake. I know you can look after yourself but quite frankly you look like shit and I’m genuinely worried that if I leave that you will die.” Yang sat on the edge of her partner’s bed as she scowled at her. Honestly, it was kind of adorable considering that the girl only had her face sticking out of a bundle of blankets.
Yang shook her head fondly as she brushed Blake’s fringe back and felt her forehead and immediately withdrew her hand.
“Blake! Dude, you have a serious fever. Like, you’re really hot.” Yang said, concern flooding her voice.
“Flatterer.” Blake mumbled. Yang felt her eye twitch.
“Blake. I’m serious. You’re burning up. I’m taking you to the infirmary.”
Without waiting for a reply, Yang wrapped one of the blankets around Blake and effortlessly hoisted her up bridal style and made her way to the infirmary.
Blake merely groaned and nuzzled into Yang’s neck. Any other circumstances and Yang would have been a bit of a flustered mess. But she was more worried about Blake. The fact that she was letting herself be picked up and cradled like this was pretty indicative of her health at the moment.
“What am I going to do with you?” Yang whispered as Blake dozed off in her arms. She hesitated for a minute and placed an affectionate kiss on her friend’s temple, causing Blake to snuggle up even closer to her.
She really was in trouble. Wasn’t she?
