fvnley:
finley let levi’s comment slide, as he always did… mostly because the boy was afraid of what the kid was capable of. he was made of stone, so to speak; he was sure he had never seen the kid laugh or anything, so he was sure levi knew a guy that could castrate him or something if he said the wrong thing. finley chewed on his lower lip as levi reassured him, yet again, because finley was a perpetual worrywort when it came to this whole situation. he nodded slowly. “right,” he responded. “there’s just– there’s someone. okay? there’s just like, one person i can’t ever have see me doing this, y’know? aside from like, cops and my family and everything.”
levi sighed, holding back his biting words. a flash of his little brother passed his mind, and the thought of jake finding out about levi’s profession was enough to make him sick right on the sidewalk. as much as he wanted to tell finley to suck it the hell up, he’d be lying if he didn’t understand the danger. “you wanna...i don’t know, give me a name or a description or some shit so i can tell you to fuck off if they give me a call? i mean, if this person seeing you is gonna be a problem for the business...”
