🌼 Self love 🌼
Take that long hot shower
Wash your hair and massage your skull
Massage your whole body with shampoo/oil/mousse
Appreciate all of your curves
Admire how your body is cleverly made
Put on your favorite playlist and dance while you wait for your conditioner to do its work
Brush your teeth
Do your face care routine
Put on some really comfy clean clothes
Take your favorite snack while you go to the most comfortable area in your house
Put on the show you’ve wanted to watch for so long/ read that chapter you promised you’d get to/ play your favorite music/ eat a meal if you haven’t for a long time/ draw/ write in your journal/ take a nap
Rest
This is just the beginning
Make yourself a priority
Your body is important too
Treat yourself as you’d want to treat the person you love the most

Writer Problems #1303
There are two types of writers:
Those who churn out a five-hundred-word chapter and feel like they’re on top of the world.
And those who, ten thousand words later, are still going strong because they "haven’t got to the good part yet".
And then there’s me: The

I felt that
types of study breaks for every situation
if you realize you’ve been studying for hours: grab a snack to refuel your body and watch a sitcom to refuel your brain. then back to the books.
if you’re feeling stressed out: take some deep breaths, text your friends, maybe stare at a wall for a few minutes. gather yourself.
if you can’t seem to focus: get moving and get outside. take out the garbage, check your mail box, maybe walk your dog. just get moving and get fresh air. it’ll help bring you back.
if there’s something else going on in your life and you can’t get it off your mind: write down what’s going through your head, sort of like a diary entry. it’ll help you work things out.
if you’re just mentally and physically exhausted: set a timer for 25-30 minutes and take a nap. any longer and you’ll hit REM and you’ll wake up feeling just as tired. once you wake up, get some caffeine in you.
if the material is boring as hell: find another way to study. see if there’s a crash course video online about it or draw out what you’re trying to learn in diagrams and pictures to make it fun.
if people around you won’t shut up: listen to some music. soundtrack and classical music is always good because they won’t absorb you as much as music with lyrics. white noise (like ocean waves, rain sounds, etc.) also works.
if you only half understand a concept: call/message a friend who’s not in the class and try to teach the material to them. this will help you mentally work through the material and will help you remember it as well.
a reminder for finals 💖 take breaks and take care of yourselves! best of luck!
you got this!
Featured Cat of the Day: 12/10/18
Meet Athena, who has the most gorgeous eyes and looks like she is prepared for some serious belly rubs. I am absolutely in love with her little sweater (I need one) and the gif of her falling makes me giggle. Precious baby!❤️

Just in case this needs to be said:
It’s the first draft. Use the word “suddenly.” Put as many dialogue tags and adverbs as you want. Say “he saw” “she remembered” “she felt” “they wondered” as many times as you need to. Put the em dash there, put in too many commas, use semi-colons with reckless abandon. Type in [whatever] instead of thinking up a title for something. Just write it. If you worry too much about the particulars, about all the advice posts you’ve seen saying whatever you’re doing is wrong or not good enough, you won’t get anything done. It will slow you down as you go back and try to reword what you just wrote to make it better, proper. The first draft doesn’t have to be perfect. It just has to be done. And when you get to the end, you’ll find that all those “mistakes” are just clues for your future self to put together to make it all better.
Putting in adverbs and certain dialogue tags are a note for you as to who is saying something and how they’re saying it. When you’re editing, you can make sure it shows through the story instead. The word “suddenly” is a reminder to make things more abrupt. The first draft is just you mapping out where you want to go and how you want to get there. Don’t waste time trying to get it 100% right now, because then it will never get done. Don’t think too much– just write. Save the thinking for editing later.
Study Pack #2
by Eintsein
It’s a new year, and whether you’re looking to organize your current study process, or try out something more productive, this study pack can help you out. These are some of the methods I use to help myself study more effectively, and I’ve decided to make some printables out of them so that you can use them too!
In this study pack:
Day Tracker: to schedule your day or keep track of how you use your time.
Past Paper Tracker: to track all the past papers you’re practicing.
Past Paper Summary: to summarize the trends in your past papers so you can plan your studying accordingly.
Topic Tracker: to track the topics that appear in the past papers.
Syllabus Tracker: to help you know where you currently are in your syllabus: what’s been done and what’s left to do, along with how well you know the material
Click here to download! (link to study drive)
Hope these help, and don’t forget to tag me with #eintsein when you use them - I’d love to see them in action! And if you have any questions, drop me an ask/message. Have an awesome day :)
P.S. Examples of how to use some of these printables are in the gifs above, but of course, you’re free to use them in whatever method works best for you. For example, for the topic tracker, instead of distinguishing between the number of marks for the question, you could keep track of how many marks you’ve received for that topic (i.e. 100% means you get full marks for every single question of that topic).
Soooo I finally read Madame Bovary this semester! I’m not really sure if I enjoyed reading it or not… There were moments where I struggled with Flaubert his complex sentences and I sometimes even had to force myself to pick the book up again. On the other hand, there were some chapters I really liked and could keep reading for hours lol. I did manage to read it in three weeks (in French!!) and I’m quite happy about that!! 📖☕️
For those of you who read Madame Bovary: what did you think of it? 💌
