it had been what felt like years (but really probably a couple of months) since he last saw his friend. there were so many things that he wanted to ask him from the normal how have you’ve been to knowing if his relationship with jinseo escalated yet - but some of these questions could be answer at a different time and place.
daeho had only return to antartica from his filming of law of the jungle, you can say he was still a little jet lag. “a new company id” he mumble walking down the hall. “a new company id for a newly debut idol” he laugh at his own joke in attempt to wake himself up. however, daeho quickly got over his jet lag at the sight of tee’s cheerful greeting. he was back and it felt good to be back.
“yo yo yo.” he pretended to rap as he approached hi friend. “i’ve miss you friend! I just got back not to long ago.” there were many things that he wanted to tell his friends but first he wanted to know how tee what was doing
“what have you been up too without me?” he pouted “it’s been too long since we’ve hung out properly. but im done with oversea promotions…for now.” he added not knowing when the next time he might have to pack his things and step foot at the airport again. “anything new with you?”
Honestly, Tee had felt lonely ever since Daeho had joined Type Zero. He’d started in the evaluation group with Daeho and he’d been so excited to be working with his close friend. Then Daeho was pulled out of the group to debut under Type Zero. Of course he was proud and happy for his friend, but part of him missed having the other with him. It felt like he hardly saw or spoke to Daeho (though that was far from true).
He raised an eyebrow at his friend and shook his head softly at the way he was greeted. ❛ Wow. And you didn’t even tell me. And I thought we were friends, ❜ he tsked playfully. He smiled at Daeho. It felt good to be with his close friend again.
❛ Not much. Nothing as exciting as debuting in a group like Type Zero, ❜ he replied. Right now, Tee just wanted to grab his friend and find somewhere where they could catch up and hang out in peace. He missed the times when it was Daeho, Wookjin and himself. Now it was just Tee and Wookjin (but they weren’t as chaotic as a duo as they are as a trio). ❛ I feel like I haven’t seen you in years. We need to hang out quickly before you leave again. ❜ Tee shrugged. ❛ Nothing new. Still the same. ❜
keeho watch the video in a slow speed. watching their movement with his eyes never leaving nathan. “i’m trying to copy nathan sunbae.” he admitted. though he loved the other members and their part keeho really enjoy watching nathan. maybe it was because he had great vocals that keeho like but whatever it was that’s who he was going to mimic or at least try too. “they’re all really good though, but im more of a vocalist soo I like supporting the fellow vocalist.” he laugh.
relax and feel the music? did he look that stiff he thought he was relax but maybe he wasn’t. “okay i’ll give that a try! thanks for the feed back hyung.” keeho flashed a joyous smile. even if he wasn’t an ace he was still happy to be a part of the evaluations.
“what do you have to practice hyung?” he ask taking a seat on the floor. grabbing the collar of the shirt he took off the sweaty tshirt. he just hate the feeling of sweat and clothes pressing against his body. “maybe I can return the favor and help you!”
Watching Keeho reminded Tee of what he was like when he was first learning how to dance all those years ago. Sure, he was young, but he still struggled like Keeho was. Once he’d found out who Keeho was aiming to mimic, Tee was now able to help the other better Knowing who Keeho was copying would make it easier for Tee to help the other with his moves and his body. Each member of Type Zero had their own way of moving and so each would require different methods and subtle moves. Tee nodded in agreement. ❛ They are a good group. Very talented. I’m not normally into k-pop groups but two of my best friends are in the group so, ❜ he shrugged casually, the last bit of the sentence slipping out unintentionally.
❛ No worries. It can be hard to find the right rhythm for your body but once you do then dancing will be easier. ❜ He smiled. ❛ Many people think dancing is scary but it’s not. It’s like singing or rapping. Once you find the right technique for you then you’ll find choreography less daunting. ❜
Tee pushed himself off the mirror and joined the other on the floor. He leaned his back against the mirror. The metal felt cool on his back. He let out a soft huff at the question of his focus. ❛ Singing. It’s the one skill I can never improve. ❜ He tsked. Singing was too hard for him. ❛ I’m a rapper, not a vocalist.. ❜
Tee’s genuine compliment has Max exhale a startled laugh. “Nah man. There’s way too many other talented dudes here that are way better than me. It’s wild to me I got a shot at this at all, to be honest,” he admits, a humble smile on his lips. Max is genuinely happy to be here and beyond excited to finally be potentially one step closer to debut.
He’d been recognized in admits a million faces and hopefuls- that alone was enough for him for now.
“You’ve been here before though? How does this usually work,” he inquires curiously, looking around as some of the others already went ahead to start working on their tasks. “But I’ve been great! I was looking forward to the next trainee missions but well I guess… I mean- do we still get to do those? No, right? We’re supposed to focus on this task, right?”
Max’s modesty was something that Tee found admirable. His friend was incredibly talented and Tee was proud of Max to see him added to the evaluation group. ❛ You’re too modest. You deserve to be here. Probably more than me, if I’m being honest, ❜ he chuckled softly. It was true. Tee wasn’t even sure why he was still in the group let alone why he was chosen in the first place.
There were so many other talented trainees in the company so why had they chosen him? Tee wasn’t even sure if he wanted to debut.
The Thai nodded. ❛ I’ve been here since it started. Welcome aboard. ❜ Tee smiled. ❛ It’s not that different to the regular evaluations. They just get us to focus on specific things. Lately, we’ve been working on our weakest skills. It varies every evaluation so, ❜ he shrugged. ❛ The songwriting camp was our last eval. ❜ Tee nodded and smiled a little. ❛ We don’t get to do the trainee missions anymore. We have to focus on this. ❜
okay the trainee evals were a little bit more difficult than keeho had imagined. it was not a simple test that just said yes you were going to debut this year. no that was way to easy. instead keeho was here with his fellow trainee working on improving certain skill sets. did keeho think he need improvement? no but he would do what the company ask just so he can have a taste of his dreams.
“hyung, I have no swag in my movement..” he finally admitted defeat. “I look like a lump of potato trying to be cool.” maybe this song choice was just not for him but his type zero’s make a wish, was one a dance that he really wanted to look do looking ‘cool’ “like how does the sunbae even move like that…” he frown. keeho knew the moves but executing it was a lot more difficult. covering his face, he let out a laugh of frustration - which was all he needed to feel 10 times better.
“okay, im done complaining.”
Tee watched Keeho with a slight chuckle. He could understand the younger’s frustration. He was the same with his singing.
Honestly, Tee was thankful that the group had been granted a break for the songwriting camp (though he didn’t always understand the content). He’d forgotten how sometimes painful the evaluations could be. His singing was still his weakest skill so of course he was told to work on it once again. At least with helping the other trainees, Tee could still do some dancing.
❛ Dancing is hard. ❜ The dancer was currently leaned against a mirror in the practice room watching the younger trainee perform the routine. He understood the frustration Keeho was feeling. Even he himself, an established dancer, could feel lost. Plus, when it came to singing, Tee was in Keeho’s shoes. Listening to the song from the group that two of his best friends were members of, Tee felt pride. He pushed himself off the mirror and walked closer to the younger male. ❛ Which sunbae are you trying to replicate? Any member in particular? ❜
❛ You’re doing well. You just need to relax a little and feel the music. If you’re tense and worried, it will show in your moves. ❜ He smiled softly.
he can’t believe it. his eyes rake across the boys with him in the room and max immediately wonders what he’s supposed to be doing here when there is so many talented guys who have so much more experience and pure skill under their belt.
he won’t pass it up though. it’s a chance. a chance he’d be a fool not to grasp for. fully prepared to give his 110% as he always did, max inhales a steadying breath, least he ends up hyperventilating accidently solely from being overwhelmed by such an unexpected opportunity. his eyes meet parker’s, the spark, the anticipation, the joy of a shot at making debut together right there and max can’t help but grin in excitement.
then his gaze drifts further and lands on tee, is reminded of their talk at the songwriting camp workshops. how all tee wanted was to dance and he ponders. how long had he been in this group? how long was he going to stay there? how was this whole experience for him? it has his feet moving as soon as they are dismissed to start working on their respective task and max can’t help but offer the other a grin. “yo! who would have thought this is how we met again?”
Here he was yet again. One more month added when it came to the evaluation group. How long had it been now since the group was first formed and announced? In however long it had been, Tee’s best friends had left the group to go on to debut in Type Zero. He’d also seen a rotation of faces and names throughout the time. He’d gotten used to seeing new faces each time.
One face he was not expecting to see was that of Max. Though knowing his friend was in the group made things a little better. The group was definitely not going to be boring with some of the faces he saw that had joined the group. The only original members that remained were himself and Jiahn. He was curious to see how the new members were going to work as a whole. Would they all work well together or would they struggle to find cohesion?
Seeing his friend again made Tee brighten up and he smiled once the meeting had ended and he saw Max walking over towards him. He waved and gave the other a smile. ❛ Fancy seeing you here. Though I’m not surprised. They should have added you sooner, ❜ he complimented genuinely. ❛ How have you been since we last met? ❜
Ever since two of his best friends had joined Type Zero, Tee had hardly seen them unless it was through tv. He missed the days where he could meet Junkyu whenever or when he and Daeho shared a dorm and could meet every day. Don’t get him wrong, he’s incredibly proud of both of his friends. He just missed them.
He hadn’t been in contact with @lgcdaeho since his friend had gone overseas. He didn’t even known when Daeho would be back. Of course, Tee never checks his phone so even if Daeho had messaged him, he wouldn’t have seen it.
All those signed under Legacy had been told they needed to update their ids and take new roster photos. Today was just another added day to his routine. He had gotten used to his routine and schedules changing. It was all part of the trainee experience, right? He had been waiting in line for his turn when he heard a voice coming from behind him. He didn’t even need to see the face to know who it was and Tee perked up. He turned around to see Daeho one or two people behind him and he grinned brightly when they saw each other. It was good to see his friend’s face again.
❛ Daeho! ❜ He greeted with a wave. ❛ You’re back! ❜
