“Suppose that would entail a weekend together then, hmm?” He mused with a grin. “I’m not entirely sure what I was expecting.” Matthias trailed after the other, his grin widening. “Now that is what I call a ride.”
“I guess it does,” Liam replied softly, though his grin giving him away. “Yeah? I was hoping you’d say that. But don’t feel shy to hold my hand if it feels scary,” He teased as they got closer to the line for the specific ride.

“I’ll agree with you on that, for now.” He said with a grin. “Fried seafood is the best. Although I do love a nice grilled shrimp.” He paused before letting out a small laugh. “Ah so I’m to make you dinner and breakfast now, hmm?” He mused with a smirk dancing upon his lips. “Something fast. You like fast then. Good to know.”
“I guess you can make me lunch too while you’re at it,” Liam shrugged, flashing him a playful smile. “What were you expecting? The Merry-go-round? No, I’ve got jjust the ride,” He said, starting to walk in the direction of on of the larger rides.

“I’m going to give Hanschen and Ernst the best last week of their lives mate, they’re going to be spoiled fucking rotten.”

“Yeah.” He echoed with a nod. “Oh absolutely. Although I’ve often gotten into trouble with fried foods. They’re not the best things to eat when you make a living off being healthy.” Matthias ran a hand through his hair before looking towards Liam. “You don’t like seafood? Well that certainly needs to change.” He paused. “Kidding of course.” At the mention of rides, he lit up. “Well of course. What’s a carnival without going on a ride?”
“Fried food is more important than health, Wagner,” Liam rolled his eyes playfully as he took a bite of his fried oreo instead. “I like fried seafood. But I’m all ame if you can make me like any seafood,” He shrugged. “Yeah? Awesome. I want something... fast.”
“So I played a carnival game with no intentions of winning it because that shit is supposed to be rigged, but I may have won…twice, and now I have a bag with two goldfish in it. I’ve named them Hanschen and Ernst in memory of my Spring Awakening days, and because they’re gay lovers. Hanschen’s a bit of a fucking dick and I’m pretty certain they’re both going to die in a week anyway.”
“Every time I walk by one o those goldfish stands, I’m tempted to just spend all my money on them and give them the best last week of their short lives.”

“Romance just seems a little redundant or overpowering. You can only say ‘I love you’ in so many ways.”
“I don’t know. There’s a lot of languages.”

“That’s something you need to learn. I’m always right.” He stated with a laugh before focusing on his own corn dog. “It’s got just the right balance of bread to meat. The perfect carnival food. Easy to handle and fried.” He paused. “What do you suggest we do next?”
“Yeah?” Liam raised an eyebrow at him, smiling softly before taking another bite of his corn dog. “It’s definitely a lot better than hot dogs. Then again, anything fried is better than anything non-fried. Like Po’ boy. I don’t usually like seafood, but if I could only eat Po’ boy for the rest of my life... I wouldn’t mind one bit,” He said before finishing his corn dog in one bite; chewing as he glanced around. “I was thinking about going on a ride. You wanna ride with me?”

“To be honest, I just really love corn dogs.” He said with a laugh. “And I love all the other things too. This was just the closest stand to the entrance.” He replied with a grin as he went to pay for their corn dogs. He handed one off to Liam. “There. Now be your true twelve year old self.”
“Aw, thanks, dad,” Liam teased with a grin as he took the corn dog; taking a large bite. He sighed softly as he chewed, nodding for himself. “You’re right. Corn dogws are good.”

“Corn dogs, then oreos, then funnel cake, then chocolate covered cheesecake.” He paused. “There’s a method to my madness.” He began before the other made his way towards the line. “I didn’t realize we were now twelve.” He said with a laugh as he hurried off after the other. “Damn. Looks like I’m paying this go round.” He said with a shrug. Not that he minded. After all, what was the point of money if you couldn’t spend it on having fun.
“I like this plan; it is definitely more respectful than the ‘corn dog and than maybe something sweet’ plan I thought you had going on,” Liam chuckled softly before just flashing him a grin. “What can I say? It’s hard not to be twelve when there’s snacks involved.”

“If you’re going to go through with all of the romantic shit, then you better get laid as well. Or what was the point?”
“I guess so. I don’t know. I’ve never really been that good with the romance bit so I prefer to just go with the good part of it all.”

“There are a lot of things I feel people might consider “my thing”.” He paused. “It’s interesting to hear it from a third party.” Matthias nodded along as the other continued talking. “I see that as both a blessing and a curse. At least you got to see them and now you can hang out amongst other friends, or rather amongst another friend.” He said with a laugh. “As for that question.” He looked back towards the cart his stomach giving off a rumble. “I would say that’s a yes. You really can’t do anything well on an empty stomach. Except maybe the spinning rides.”
“I definitely prefer you in this case. Even if you’re having corndogs when you could be having deep-fried oreos,” Liam said, raising the napkin with his half-eaten oreo. “It’s truly delicious. But... I guess I could go for a corn dog,” He admitted as he walked over towards the line. “Last one in line pays!” He shouted, already less than two or three steps away from entering the line.

“I meant Valentine’s day, but damn. That would be a hell of a carnival activity.” She laughed.
“It would be. I don’t limit sex to an annual holiday, but I guess it could be special on a day like that.”

“I figured it didn’t bother you when I kept seeing you around, even when we hadn’t planned on seeing one another.” He said with a laugh. “You know it doesn’t bother me. I like to joke about that sort of thing. Seeing as a lot of my friends are younger than I.”
“I came alone. How sad is that?” He stated with a grin. “Not that I really mind. Coming alone means I got to do whatever I wanted.” He shook his head before running a hand through his hair. “Maybe I do, maybe I don’t.”
“Okay,” Liam said with a nod before shrugging. “I don’t know that kind of seems like your kind of thing,” He teased. “Truthfully, I would’ve gone alone too if I had a say in it. Friends’ been crashing at my place. Didn’t know how to say no to going together. So, I’m glad I saw you or I would’ve been stucking snappin’ pics of them riding through the tunnel of love fifteen times,” He let out an amused scoff at Matthias’ words, not tearing his gaze away from him as he bit his lower lip with poorly hidden intrigument. Then he glanced back towards the food stand they were still standing by. “You still wanna get those corndogs, or?”

“Oh that would just make this so boring.” Winnie smirked,”Sex is the best bit of all this hullabaloo.”
“Are you saying it’s the best thing about love and Valentine’s Day or is there a carnival activity I completely missed out on?” He asked, raising one eyebrow at her playfully.

“Yeah.” He echoed, a little wary of the other. “Oh, you certainly wound me.” He said with a laugh before placing a hand over his heart as if he’d been hit. “I’d say it’s about a 9 on that list then.” He stated with a grin. “Now, you can’t honestly have me believe you’re here on your own. Especially not when that gaggle of girls over there have not stopped staring this whole time. Probably think I’m your father or something.”
“I know you think you’re old, but you’re not...definitely not in a way that botehrs me. But if you’re insecure, I don’t have to...,” He said, gesturing with his hands in an attempt to get the point across. He liked Matthias; and as much as he liked to tease him, he didn’t want him to feel bothered by it - and sometimes it was hard to tell if Matthias was playing along or actually finding the subject sensitive.
Liam glanced towards the girls, unable to stop a smirk from forming on his lips. But as he ran a hand through his hair, he looked back at Matthias with a shrug. “I was with friends. They’re around... somewhere,” He explained quickly before the smirk had time to fade, and tilted his head slightly to the side as he studied the other man. “Y’know, all this talk about looking like my father... I’m starting to think you have a daddy kink or something.”

“Red seems to be a little more sexual.” She mused, licking her lips, “Pink is all innocent and pretty.”
“I guess you do have a point,” Liam nodded, a thoughtful look on his face. “I’m just glad that innocence hasn’t rubbed off on all the rides. I’d be disappointed if they had nothing but variations of the love tunnel.”

Matthias didn’t mind Valentine’s Day. He looked good in red and loved chocolate. However, he’d never really had anyone to spend it with. Perhaps that was a good thing? On a day off, he found himself drawn to the Carnival. He’d been eating well for far too long and it was time for him to enjoy himself. He was debating on what to eat first when he heard an all too familiar voice. “I was thinking about starting with the corn dogs. I can’t jump into sugar right off the bat.”
“Yeah?” Liam raised an eyebrow at him, still grinning. “A man your age... I’d probably go with dessert first. Just to make sure I live long enough to get it,” He teased, taking a bite of his oreo. “Although, I’ll have to admit... corn dogs aren’t that bad at all. If you have to go for a food, it’s not on the top ten worst.”
