Where Do We Go From Here?
Hello 2022. So happy to see you. January 1 is always a day of great expectations for a new year. A page turned where we can put the past behind us and look forward to a full 365 days in which to make a mark. The mark I’m shooting for this year is joy and success. I’ve never been big on making resolutions and probably worse at rehashing what has been … but I thought I’d take a moment to reflect on…

It's the Little Things
It’s the Little Things
At some point in life, we reach the stage where we gain a true appreciation for the little things or events in life. While some of the big things in life give us good memories to hang on to, it is the small things in the day to day grind that help elevate our mood and make our heart sing. Back when I initially wrote The Journal of Angela Ashby it was missing one of the characters of the finished…

What a Difference a Week Makes
What a Difference a Week Makes
Photo by James Wheeler from Pexels Welcome to Rainbow Falls. Last week this time, my head was so fuzzy, I couldn’t think straight, I spent the bulk of the day in bed because of the fatigue levels, I had had a reaction to the chemo the day before and generally felt crappy. Going into chemo this week, I had no idea what to expect. Because the oncologist put me on a precautionary dosage of…

The New Regime
I have been on the new oral chemo protocol for a month now, and things are going along okay. Do I have any side effects? Yep. But it would be a rare thing if I didn’t react in some way to these drugs. The worst of it is shortness of breath going up and down the stairs or if I hurry from one room to the other. I have let the doctor know and we’re going to proceed as planned, unless it gets worse.…

I'm a bit behind in getting this posted, but only learned about the review while in the hospital and cut off from my laptop. 🤓 I am so pleased to share this review from Monster Librarian. It was definitely a bright spot during a difficult time. @italiagandolfo @vesuvianmedia #SpeakNoEvil #LianaGardner #selectivemutism #mute #NoVoice #SpeakOut #abuse #music #musictherapy #bookstagram #writers #writersofinstagram #YALit #booknerd #emotional #safehaven #rainn #BeTheCat #metoo #ownvoices #PTSD #horrorstories #vesuvianbooks #bramstokeraward #horrorwriters #horror #bramstoker #vesuvian #yanovel https://www.instagram.com/p/B-tOiRqggJQ/?igshid=1m7hikyedx9fi

Phew!!Time has been flying by so fast, I cannot keep up … with anything. I had good intent to keep everyone updated as to my progress through this round of chemo, but managed one post after Cycle 1, Day 1, and here is it a new year and I have completed Cycle 4, Day 3 (one more day to go, but that is hydration only, so not too bad.) As we approached…

Speak No Evil: Look Behind the Mask
Speak No Evil: Look Behind the Mask
Masks. We all wear them. The different faces we present while in different circumstances … the work mask, the home mask, the party mask, etc. Societally, we are so accomplished at masking ourselves, we often don’t realize we’re wearing one. A physcial mask allows you to hide who you are, providing a sense of anonymity and an unbridled freedom to act in ways that are outside your nature. But is…

Thrills, Chills, and Oblivion - Chemo Day 1
Thrills, Chills, and Oblivion – Chemo Day 1
Chemo Round 2, Cycle 1, Day 1
The image of the roller coaster is an apt description of how yesterday went. I normally try to get my chemo updates done same day, but by the time I made it home I was well and truly exhausted. The day started early because of the 0800 start time. The staff and I always joke about me being the first one in and last one out. And I definitely go prepared for the long…

Love this... Reposted from @simplykelina (@get_regrann) - Who else is participating in spooky reads or readathons this month? Thank you to @tlcbooktours @vesuvianmedia and @liana.gardner for a copy of Speak No Evil. What if every time you told the truth, evil followed? My name is Melody Fisher. My daddy was a snake handler in Appalachia until Mama died. Though years have passed, I can still hear the rattle before the strike that took her from me. And it's all my fault. Since then, I've been passed around from foster home to foster home. I didn't think anything could be as bad as losing Mama. I was wrong. But I will not speak of things people have done to me. Every time I do, worse evil follows. Now, the only thing I trust is what saved me years ago. Back when I would sing the snakes calm ... #speaknoevil #tlcbooktours #vesuvianbooks #lianagardner - #regrann https://www.instagram.com/p/B3Pi99rAVXo/?igshid=rrmktkptuayv
