Miss You | Lia & Kevin

Lia avoided going anywhere else in the theater aside from the costume shop and the occasional trip to the bathroom. Part of her wondered if Kevin was avoiding her, too, and - even as she had altered her schedule to try to avoid him, too - the thought of it hurt. 

Not that she relished the thought of any interaction between them here - despite the feeling of friendship and family that they both shared with their co-workers, this was first and foremost, their place of business and Lia had no intention of breaking down into tears while she was on the clock (which was already a hard thing to manage, as it was, without seeing Kevin). 

Today she’d been convinced to have a late lunch out on the lawn with Eloise and Melody, however, and it was on the way back to the costume shop that she’d (after weeks of successfully side-stepping) nearly literally ran into her husband. 

“Oh! Hi.” 

The first thing she noticed about him was that he looked tired and she realized her first instinct was to offer to make him a cup of coffee. She wondered, for a moment, if he was losing sleep over her, as she was over him, and, but going days on end with only a few hours of sleep while working here was commonplace - everyone looked tried.

Lia stood silently for a moment, wondering if she should say something else. She wanted to tell him to come home, that she still loved him, that she was pregnant - but it was not the time or place for any of that. What’s more, she wanted him to come back because he wanted to, not because he felt obligated. 

So “oh, hi” was all she managed to say.

Pie? | Lia & Clara

Lia was standing in Clara’s doorway. She never dropped by anyone unannounced (she’d hate to think, for a moment, that she’d been an inconvenience to her friends!) but today she’d only been thinking about herself as she walked right up to Clara’s house and knocked on her door. 

“Are you hungry?” She asked, “I made pie and I just - “ the words don’t have anyone else to share it with hung in the air, unsaid. 

A pause. 

“- well, I just know you are super busy with school starting up again, and well, I thought you’d like someone sweet to snack on while you work. Also, if you need any help with anything - I just wanted to make sure you knew I was here, as always.” 

It was a lie - she hadn’t come by for either of those reasons. The truth was that her home was too empty and the theater was too full. One she was left alone with her memories and regrets and the other she was faced with the prospect of running into her husband (soon to be ex?) at any given movement - all while trying to find the best time (and place) to tell him that she was pregnant (and avoiding letting alone know she was having morning sickness). 

And, apparently, she was lying now - which was almost as unsettling to her as how easy the lie had come, as though her first thought really had been to come here to help Clara, and not to turn to her first friend who was not also a co-worker and, therefore, the least likely to bring up Kevin (or things that made her think of Kevin).

General Appearance: No one can say who Olivia looks like mostly due to the fact she is a rather perfect mixture of both her parents.  

Personality: Sweet but silly– a perfect mixture of her parents. Much like her father, she knows no stranger and, as with her mother, she is constantly creating. Her favor medium is watercolor paints.

Special Talents: Uncle Jimmy taught her how to focus lights when she was nine and she’s quicker at it than most of the staff at GMTF. She’s also a bit fearless when it comes to heights which terrifies both her parents. 

Who they like better: Both! Despite all their worries before she was born, Lia and Kevin managed to balance their work/family life very well.

Who they take after more: Its pretty much both though Kevin will always say she is, thankfully, more like her mother.

Personal Head canon: Liv’s middle name originates from a drunken bet between Kevin and Jimmy which Kevin lost. Kevin assumed Lia would put a stop to the whole thing but she, surprisingly, agreed saying that they’d never have to worry about their daughter having a generic name.

Ok, so I feel like, if you think Lia has been around here before, these two might’ve dated when they were younger?????  Connor would just be so!!! charmed!!!! by someone as sweet and generous and open as Lia and, while (clearly) it didn’t work out, I can totally see it having potentially happened?  Thoughts?  Ofc if she wasn’t around Bingley/has always been w her hubby it’s a no-go.

Either way, though, I can def see them being friends!!  I feel like they’d kind of balance each other a lil bit bc deep down he’s super friendly but he tries to act crusty and she’s this cinnamon roll too precious for this world and yeah????  Anyway…thoughts?

Ok, so I could have seen that too, honestly, but I feel like lia didn’t actually grow up here and she didn’t move until she and her husband both got jobs and yeah so by the time she met connor she was already married. 

but omg!!!!! I agree!!!!!! I so!!! love the idea of them being friends especially since they are so!!!! different!!!!! and like I see connor complaining about x and at the same time lia is just going on about how much she loves x haha #facepalm. (actual dialogue???) but yeah, I def think that lia would be able to see beyond his ~crusty~ exterior (she always finds the good in people, i feel like ... altho sometimes i think she misjudges ppl in their favor but anyway!)

Also, I feel like Mel is supER protective of Lia!!!!!  If you mess w her, you mess w Mel!!!!!!  Once Mel started crying while eating a cupcake bc it was so!!!! tasty!!!! (and she secretly really needed it ;DDD)  I also feel like Mel tries to help Lia stand up for herself more when Lia’s being too altruistic, but I also feel like this has the potential to backfire a bit, sometimes?????  She just does it bc she cares, I swear.  Also, Mel appreciates how much Lia plans but I think she also sometimes is like ‘honey, you know i love that you’re thinking about this so much, but maybe it’s time to choose w your heart instead of your brain’ when it comes to the whole baby question (which may or may noT be good advice but that Mel hahaha).

and honestly, I feel like lia worries about mel a lot too in different ways haha (see the text messages!!!!) and tbh she’s sO Much the mom friend that mel probably calls her “mom” more than she calls her lia haha like i feel like lia always brings more food than she will eat for lunch and is constantly trying to feed eloise and mel and honestly evERYONe and just wants u to be happy and safe and living at the end of a fairy tale haha 

and yeah I feel like lia does realize (sometimes) that she needs to stand up for herself but sometimes i don’t think she even realizes that it is a problem haha so honestly it is probably good to have someone like mel who can like bring it to her attention???? 

hahah omgggggg that is 10000%%% a convo that has actually happened and i feel like lia says dumb super optimistic and mushy things like that all the time and then gets called a goob by mel aldkjfaldjfladfj i love it

but yes!!!!! I feel like they do converse a lot about the different shows in the early stages of pre-production to get a feel going that works together in both the set design and the costumes and u know they work so well together and their work is flawless and aldkfjlaskdjflkdjf

I feel like Elsie definitely needed a mom friend when she first moved to town. Like she is incredibly self sufficient in many ways, but it was such a change moving out of the city, it was nice for someone to tell her the way things are! And she probably rolls her eyes lovingly at each text message but secretly loves it, haha! 

I could see Elsie coming over to hide own in the Lia’s shop whenever she gets too stressed out in her office. Its a good hiding place, but she can still pretend she’s working, haha! Also i invision them having craft night? hahah

ok lia is all about letting eloise hide in her shop!!!!! tbh she probably has a constant supply of tea (i feel like lia has a problem with drinking too much of it???) so there’s probably always something hot to drink and a bake good waiting for her whenever she needs a break <3333

they absolutely have craft night omg!!!! I feel like lia probably gets way too into it haha. in fact, she probably has a cozy room in her house that she hopes will ~one day~ be a nursery but right now it’s where she works on all of her DIY house projects/work she takes home and it is stocked with supplies always haha and she def invites eloise over a couple times a month for pie and projects haha <3
