This is my indie rp blog for PadmΓ© Amidala from Star Wars with influences from the novels Queen's Shadow, Queen's Peril, and eventually Queen's Hope.

"Anakin, breathe, breathe, my love."
Anakin awoke with a start, breathing heavily, his eyes still far away. He had been thrashing about in his sleep as he relived the horrors of Jabiim, watching the other Padawans fall, hearing the sound of the gunships as they approached to evacuate him from the planet, the screams of the Loyalists filling his ears. He heard PadmΓ©, her voice bringing him back to the present. Sitting up in bed gingerly, he scrubbed the sleep from his eyes, as well as the tears he didnβt know he had shed. βDid I wake you? Iβm sorry." His voice shook despite all of his efforts to steady it, and he attempted a smile.
"It's alright," PadmΓ© murmured, running her fingers through her husband's hair trying to soothe him.
"You were having a bad dream, they happen."

He knew he would get knighted, but he never imagined it would be this way. Qui-Gon was meant to be alive. His Master was supposed to be there. His Master, now ash, having been given a proper funeral, leaving Obi-Wan behind to begin a new chapter with a sad beginning.
Obi-Wan looked over the young queen of whom he realized he was now alone with.
Β βI should be the one to offer thanks for your help in my Masterβs funeral.β Obi-Wan replied.Β βAnakin is rather fond of you. In case you are worried about his future, the Council has allowed him to become a Jedi. I will train him as best I can. I believe in time he will make a great Jedi. Know this, if we have the chance to serve Naboo again, you can depend on us.β
βIt was the least I could do, Master Qui-Gon was a good man.β Irritating yes, but a good man none the less. She was glad to hear that Anakin would be trained. It was a comfort to her, but then he told her that she could count on them to serve Naboo should the need ever arise again.
βI will keep that in mind, but let us hope I never have to take you up on that kind offer.β
βHe was.β He agreed. Though little did he know that Padme also thought his Maste could be irritating, but still a good man. His Master had been stubborn, keeping to his beliefs, and never shy about voicing his opinion. Then again, he had loved his Master as father figure and if not for Qui-Gonβs training, he would have never been able to defeat that Sith Lord.Β βHe will be missed, but he is one with the Force now. And knowing him, heβll find a way to guide me from the grave.βΒ
While Obi-Wan had an idea of the afterlife from the Jedi point of view, something told him that his Masterβs spirit would not be content to be assimilated and would somehow become an individual entity within it.
βIndeed. I wish the same as well. But, and Iβm sure you need no warning, I would be careful with who you trust. I somehow doubt the Trade Federation is done yet.β He told her.Β βBut if I may offer an idea of an ally, perhaps seek audience with Mandalore. They are not a part of the Republic, but they are not an enemy either. The Duchess may speak with you. Sheβs a friend of mine.β Friend was a light way of saying it, but he and Satine had made the choice when the extended mission ended.
"I will do so," it was good advice, it was long since time that Naboo reach out to the galaxy, PadmΓ© was not an isolationist. Especially not after this battle for her planet.
"Thank you, and I wish you luck with Anakin's training." She had tucked the japor snippet under her collar and now it burned against her skin as she spoke of the hero of her planet.
"He is a very clever boy, Anakin."

PadmΓ© visibly relaxed as SabΓ© did her hair, there was something so soothing about having SabΓ© do her hair. It reminded her of the early days of her reign as queen, when it was just them two.
βThank you, SabΓ©, I appreciate you doing my hair for me.β
Her hands were more accustomed to blasters and halliksets, but the ribbons weave themselves into a half updo with a few small braids. PadmΓ© βs curls made the look fuller and finished, making up for SabΓ©βs lack of talent. β Iβm no SachΓ© , but itβll do for now. β
A sudden meeting with Anakin and General Kenobi wasnβt on the agenda, but the Jedi didnβt work on a senatorβs time table. At least it wasnβt in the middle of the night like last time, but PadmΓ©βs distributed mission wasnβt as dangerous this time.Β β Do you think this will wrap things up ? I hear the Jedi Council is getting temperamentalΒ two of their favorites are β¦ how did Master Windu put it ? At your β beck and call as of late β.β
PadmΓ© felt her cheeks heat, it had been the Jedi who had appointed Obi-Wan and Anakin to be her bodyguards. But she would admit that as of late, she was seeing an awful lot of the pair of Jedi.
"I'm afraid I don't know, after the attempt on my life, they were assigned to me, we work together well, us three." She said pretending to adjust the jewelry that adorned her.
"I hate to be parted from them just yet, we haven't yet caught who put a bounty on my head."

At Padme's request, he held out the baby boy to the new mother, gently placing Luke in Padme's arms.
"They're working on Luke and Leia's birth documents now for you to have. Artoo will get a copy of them into his memory banks before we delete them from the main frame." Obi-Wan told her. "We are also having false documents created, death certificates. To the Empire, as far as they will know if they come here looking, you and your baby died today." It wasn't ideal, to live a life where you were dead to the galaxy, but it was the only way right now to live.

βWeβll go to Alderaan, just for a little while, once Iβm stronger weβll revisit this issue.β Her life was over, what would become of her family and her people?

βJust donβt push yourself. I know how you can be. You did just give birth, after all.β He told her.Β βWhile I know things are not the way either of us wanted it to go, the medics say that the birth went well and that you and the twins are healthy.β It was a little light in the galaxy that was now so filled with so much darkness.Β βBut donβt thank me just yet. You might eventually see me as more of a pest. Me and someone else. Senator Organa is making contact with one of your former handmaidens. What was her name? I think it was Sabe. Sheβs coming as well.β
PadmΓ© almost sobbed at the sound of SabΓ©'s name, her dearest friend, at least she would not lose her. At least she would have friends at her side as she navigated this new world.
"Thank you, Obi-Wan." She said, reaching out to take the Jedi's hand.
"When do we leave?"

Tears welled up in PadmΓ©βs eyes, there was just so much to grieve. Anakin, the Republic, and her old life for starters. She wanted to ask Obi-Wan about her family on Naboo, her mother and father along with her sister and nieces. But she knew the answer already, she could never see them again.
βWhere will we go?β
This entire scene was a part of nightmare. But it was the reality and the dark times have only begun.
βSenator Organa has offered a home for us on Alderaan. Heβs even willing to adopt you in as a member of his family. Alderaan is well proteced so we would be safe there.β He told her.Β βThereβs also Tatooine, where Anakinβs family is. And could always go into the Unknown Regions and find a planet far away. The choice is yourβs, of course. But if I am allowed to make a suggestion, I would say we go to Alderaan, at least for a little while so you can recover from the birth.β
PadmΓ© nodded and looked down at Luke and Leia in her arms.
"We'll go to Alderaan, just for a little while, once I'm stronger we'll revisit this issue." Her life was over, what would become of her family and her people?
"Thank you, Obi-Wan."
"Mom, it's snowing!" Luke cried out in delight. (from becamealegend). @becamealegend
Glancing out the view port, PadmΓ© laughed.
"Shall we go outside and play in the snow then?"
"Mama, the feast for Life Day is ready." Luke told her. (from becamealegend). @becamealegend
"I'm coming, I'm coming." PadmΓ© said, leaving her work so she could eat dinner with her family.

"I trust you with my life. But I don't trust the Empire with yours." (from Obi-Wan). @suchbrokenstars
"I know, but we need someone on the inside," PadmΓ© said, the Empire had already taken so much from her. Anakin, her old life, her children.
A part of PadmΓ© didn't care anymore.
"I'll play their game, I'll be Vader's cherished doll, if it means that the Rebellion can get the information it needs and the Empire can be toppled. If it means Luke and Leia can be free, wherever they are."
