I had a four day weekend and I did a lot of stitching ✨💕🌼

“Joy” Wool, nylon stockings, and 720 cotton balls. 37"×7.5"
“Joy” has a new sister, “Sorrow”. Cotton warp, acrylic weft, fishnet stockings, steel wool, my blood because I cut myself on the steel wool while weaving, and Roxborough dirt. Also, I set it on fire.
patchwork - all of the colors here came from natural dyes extracted from plants in my father’s garden
Last summer I was helping to piece this work together - today I got to see it up in a museum!

This was my favorite pattern I did all semester in weaving class - it was tedious (each of those wraps were done by hand, one at a time) but so so pretty!
“Glass itself is so much like water. If you let it go on its own, it almost ends up looking like something that came from the sea.”
