Here is your question: Who is your favourite character? (Pick up to 3, I'm not that cruel)

My first thought on this is “Wow. Umm that’s a very loaded question.” Then I’m trying to figure out exactly how it’s meant. (Yes I overthink /everything/!) Finally I will give you this, even if it’s not quite what you wanted.

Top 3 characters I loved reading in TGL

Jess- I see way too much of me in him. The black sheep of the family. The reader. The one that gets used and never speaks out to family about it.

Dario- the one that I still had a ton of questions about. Specifically I think there are still things that he kept a secret and would love to know those secrets.

Wolfe- I must admit I started reading about him, smirked then settled into my bed a little further thinking that this is going to get interesting.

When writing I tend to lean towards

Jess- same reason I loved reading him

Wolfe - there is so much that can be done. So many missing pieces that can be created.

Santi- soldier with ink and a thread to Wolfe that could be a great asset and also a great deterrent.

Those three can be placed in so many different ways both romantic and platonic. The dynamic between those three drive me to distraction though.

fanfic writers deserve better

if we post too fast, we get accused of using ai (no, you don't know how fast someone can write. you don't even know if the "too-frequent-to-be-human updates" you see are something that have long been finished and sitting in an author's drafts for god knows how long. just because it's recently posted, doesn't necessarily always mean it's recently written too. a lot of writers finish the whole thing first before they start posting it chapter by chapter).

if we take "too long to update", we get people pressuring us to "update faster" even though fanfics are our hobbies and we write for ourselves first and foremost.

if our works are grammatically correct, we get accused of using ai (some of us just love correct grammars).

if our works are not grammatically correct, we get insulted/criticized (mind you, not everybody writes in their native language. kudos to writers who write in their second, or third, or fourth language — I'm willing to bet a lot of people who criticize fanfics because of poor grammar can't even speak other languages besides english).

if our paragraphs are "too long and too detailed", we get accused of using ai.

if our paragraphs are "too short", we also get accused of using ai.

if we are autistic and we write in ways some deem "too robotic", we get accused of using ai.

some people just don't use their brains to think "ai was trained on human-made works, it was trained to look human-made. ai writes this way because the way it writes is the way real humans write — real humans whose works it was trained to mimic". instead they somehow disregard this logic and think "hmmm this work looks ai-generated. I will engage in witch hunt, be a bully and harass writers whose works I don't vibe with".

There is nothing like finding that one person that just fits perfectly into your life. Not as a romantic partner, but as the one person that just makes things better. The one that makes the most innocent post in the world, but has the memo hidden somewhere that just knows when you find it and make your comment that it’s rarely going to stay on topic. The person that is ready to dive head first into that specific niche of crazy. I have find that in several and each for their own reasons. One of those people just proved it today. A day which just added even more stress and low self esteem. One tiny little comment which changed innocent to not even close and put a smile on my face.

Anyone and everyone CAN write. The world’s most skilled writer didn’t start off skilled. The key is that they practice hard by writing a lot.

As long as you write, you are practicing your craft and you are getting better at writing. But you will never get anywhere if you let AI write for you.
