These might look like antique books, but they’re actually salvaged bricks that have been painted to look like they belong in an old library. The faux literature is the brilliant work of Daryl Fitzgerald, who transforms the bricks by stenciling them on both sides with titles of literary classics.
Literary bricks. I’m doing this one day when I have a backyard or balcony of my very own!
30 DAY BOOK CHALLENGE:
DAY 18: BOOK YOU’RE MOST EMBARRASSED TO SAY YOU LIKED
If I absolutely had to pick, I would say I am most embarrassed to admit that I read graphic novels, specifically Fables (they’re the only ones I read, at least right now). I am not embarrassed to admit it on Tumblr amongst fellow nerds, but I am hesitant about talking about it in the “real world.” I try to embrace it, though, like look at me I’m a hot bitch who reads graphic novels. I don’t know, whatevs. Anyway, I really love Fables, and if you’re a fan of the show Once Upon A Time, then I highly recommend you read these graphic novels.
If you could get revenge against someone without being held accountable, with zero chance of getting caught, would you take action? 100 Bullets by Brian Azzarello entertains this question- and a daunting 100 volumes tell the story.

I do enjoy the days I get these.
I think I miss my "old" desk

to all my ontario followers, please reblog this if you can
what do you mean cataloguers have no fun? I get to tell my kid I work with comicbooks all day!
Today at work, I was given a list of books to be pulled because they hadn’t been checked out in over two years. I was so sad to see how many of them were Science Fiction - not just that, but books I had read and loved as a teenager, including Ray Bradbury’s Something Wicked This Way Comes (there...
library by Shawna Lemay on Flickr.
Why!?
Why this? Why tumblr? Why now?
-- it's a place to share my musings on an often overlooked and under-appreciated aspect of library-ship, namely dungeon dwelling technical services and the alchemists in cataloguing. Oh! And because I can.
-- it's free, I like the design, easy to use, and I like reposting and reblogging what I find interesting
-- well, because it's a good a time as any and I this is the first Saturday that I have some free time
