A lovely little example of the Betta splendens complex! (I couldnāt trace it back to the original, though, so if anyone knows that, hit me up so I can properly credit this. All I know is that itās from Betta Thailand.)
Even within these species, thereās some variation depending on what regions the fish reside in and selective breeding within the hobby, but this is a basic look at them in general.
Itās because of hybridizing these guys that we have the pet store bettas we have today.
