Here's the trailer for my animation graduation film Gullermo! Gullermo is an autobio love letter to the titular seagull who has kept me company over the lonely years of chronic illness.
A mixed media solo project involving claymation, sticky notes, oil pastels, collage, photocopied video animation and animation of found materials (dried leaves, flowers, plants, texts) all shot under a multiplane camera setup.
The opening quote is from John Berger's essay "Why Look At Animals?", 1980. Sound design by Ruadhan Doyle, Oliver Bentley and Aaron Scott. Everything else by yours truly Donnacha Clarke, with a lot of help from Eimhin McNamara and the team at IADT animation. Thank you to everyone who has helped me through my long IADT journey, especially Gullermo <3
