How this event works:
1. Look at the calendar and draw, write, craft, or something else creative about the prompt of the day! We have days for the individual Lifers themselves, but also some fun Special Days, too!

the whole “only the life series winners remember the games outside of the games” has me in a fuckin chokehold, but adding on to that i love the idea that outside of the games when non-winners see certain things they just feel a flash of familiarity but can’t grasp onto why ex: scar seeing lilacs and poppies, martyn seeing red banners before his win etc. the angst possibilities of this hc is massive
The winners all have code names for each other. Grian is Sun, Scott is Stars, etc. The players know there’s an Earth but none of them can find out who it is, and figuring out who Earth is has become a bit of a game. Scar is intentionally messing them up, and the winners give very vague hints. Tango is still deciding on his codename but it’s known that he remembers, so they decided to say he’s Earth because the others know Tango hasn’t won. Tango thinks this is very funny. Also Joel is Jupiter imo because it just feels right.
I think maybe BDubs’ fascination with Martyn this season could also have something to do with how they’re both time related in ways. Like, BDubs gets a clock for allyship in basically every season, and both of Martyn’s wins are in seasons related to time. Hmmmmm………
On topic of Martdubs, i think on several of their “danger trips” however many there were, Martyn has tried to kill BDubs multiple times but somehow BDubs hasn’t died until they went on the last one with Scar, and BDubs was well aware Martyn was trying to kill him but stayed (and kept coming back) for the thrill
Thoughts on why the three who haven't been Boogeyman haven't:
Grian is being specifically held from it by the Watchers. Is it because it's funny? Because he wants it so he can't be allowed to have it? A unique punishment for trying to betray/escape the Watchers? A "You can't feed on the energy of your own betrayal, dumbass, go eat a Snickers"? A unique parallel to Scott who does not want it always getting it? No one knows why they're withholding it, they just know it's being withheld from Grian.
Cleo is just really good at ignoring small voices in their head telling them to kill their friends. They're a zombie hybrid, this is just the normal result of having friends who are predominantly living. Any other undead players sympathize with the cause- I want to be friends, but unfortunately you are made of meat (Sokka voice). So, the voice is ignored. This is a death game, she can't just kill them cause she's hungry, it's not like Hermitcraft with unlimited respawns.
Skizz? As much as the Watchers love to posture and pose themselves as all powerful gods, they really aren't. And it turns out, it actually really is hard to corrupt an angel. So, no Boogey Skizz for now. It shall be observed whether or not they figure out a different way to corrupt or otherwise turn him, though.
Cleo still hasn't been Boogeyman. So what if it's because the Watchers genuinely can't make her? They're immune. She's a zombie hybrid, used to ignoring the voices in her head telling her to kill and eat all of the living/non-undead players around her, because she has manners and only does that if it's been discussed and agreed to first, thank you very much. They're so good at ignoring those voices that when the Watchers put the Boogeyman curse in their head, they just stomp it down like all the other instinctual kill voices and never noticed it was its own unique distinct non-zombie-instinct voice. Cleo never heard the call of Boogeyman, because she's so used to controlling her zombie instinct that she didn't notice the new voice in the chorus. When you already want to kill and eat your friends, and said friend isn't going out of their way to piss you off so that you actually *do* want to kill them, it's a bit hard to tell one kill voice from another in the horde. There might be a reason Cleo's the only zombie (genuine player species of zombie, anyway) in the games. The Watchers can't control them like the others.
grian gave jimmy the canary curse. it only came into effect after third life, when grian realised just how awful it was to win. he negotiated with the watchers, got them to enforce the curse. he did it to protect jimmy. he could never imagine putting his brother through the horrors; watching everyone around you die. blood staining your hands, a crown of thorns blessed on your head in the place of a deceased lover's kiss. could never imagine having jimmy carry that for the rest of his life, just like grian, just like everyone who came after.
he did what he had to to make sure jimmy was safe. and if that meant putting jimmy through the disappointment and anguish of trying so hard to succeed - to win just this once, to prove he's more than a participation award, and failing, then that's what he'd do. a sacrifice in the face of the greater good.
he will ensure jimmy dies by his hand, when the curse is loosened and breaking, because then he knows jimmy cannot win. he will do whatever it takes, even if it means having his brother's blood stained on his hands. as long as jimmy couldn't remember, it would be okay.
one day he'll free jimmy from his golden cage. but for the time being, this is what he has to do.
None of the Lifers can properly read. The writing in signs? Most of it is just gibberish that they all accept as common language, same with the chat. None of the gibberish really means to much, but they’ve learned to associate it with certain things, to the point where they’re almost not even illiterate anymore because they just created a new language out of gibberish. If one of them misses a season or two, their allies have to teach them new “words” or “phrases” that people have started to write down as well. Of course, they all speak English and this “language” is only a written language, and they can still read some simple English words, but other than that, they exclusively use this to write.
