it’s also okay to not have the latter part? it’s okay to sit down and go ‘i am having X problem in our relationship and i’m not 100% sure what will make it better, but i’d like us to talk about it and work on it together’. you’re a team- you fight the problem, not each other

In fact, I would argue that it might be BEST to sit down and say, “This is a problem I have noticed in our relationship. Have you noticed it? Can we talk about it? Do you have any ideas of how to fix it?” Soliciting your partner’s attention and opinion goes a LONG way toward making it a team effort, rather than just steamrolling them.

All this is important. If you can’t communicate well with your partner and facilitate actual ways to work through a problem together.. then what you in it for?
