I noticed the other day that girls usually adapt to their bfs hobbies like if they enjoy idk surfing the girls will start learning facts about it and buying cute things related to it for them and being so proud of their bf like theyāre a star even if they arenāt that great at surfing just out of pure love and joy ā¦.. But men never fucking adapt to their gfās interests like they canāt possibly care less about makeup for example or theyāll just complain about them taking too long to get ready instead of sharing the passion for it and watching them create something beautiful and being interested in why is it that it makes her feel better to do her makeup. Men are so used to not trying at all fuck that tbh!!!!
yall are just dating the wrong fucking people lmao
Seriously, you ARE dating the wrong people. I work in a makeup store and the sheer amount of guys that are fully engaged in what their girlfriends/wives are doing with makeup surprised me. Yes thereās a lot of guys who scoff and roll their eyes about being in the PRESENCE of makeup, but thereās sooooo many that are consistently engaged, looking at colours wanting to help (even when theyāre visibly confused and you can see they want to help but donāt know how). My boyfriend even knows more than I thought just from listening to me talk.
Find better quality guys that take interest in your interests and stop settling for assholes.
the person youāre dating should be your best friend. Not as in, date your best friend, but as in if your partner doesnāt engage with you at the same level as a best friend (or even just a friend), there is something wrong. Itās not long term material. Couples that act like men and women are āoppositeā sides in the relationship game are such a weird concept for me. āOh, weāre married, my wife is basically an obstacle to me getting a nice night out with my friends hahaā or āoh my boyfriend doesnāt do any of the housework ahahaha boys am I right?ā like, ?????? you,re not supposed to be on opposite sides, both pulling to get what you want. Youāre supposed to be a TEAM. thatās, like, the whole point of a relationship. Like, not only does my boyfriend know and care about my interests, even the ones I rant about that know bore him a little (and vice versa - I now know a lot about Eve Online and he knows more than he has probably ever wanted to know about star wars fanfiction), he also knows about my day to day stuff. Like, Iāll ask him to do the laundry and heāll answer āokay but whereās the little net bag you put your bras in so they donāt get stretched in the washer?ā because he fucking LISTENED when I bought it and told him what it was for. like I said. Youāre a team, conquering adult life together. That goes for everything, from getting excited and calling him over when I spot a simulator game on sale at the store (even though wtf simulator games I will never get the point of them) to figuring out the most efficient way to keep the living room clean. *high fives my boyfriend, cartwheels out of the house*
-My boyfriend learnt how to plait hair because he knows that I struggle with it and now he is better than most girls I know. -I try my best to learn about classic cars and stuff because he loves stuff like that. - He can do my makeup better than I can - Iām trying to learn Spanish because he lives in Spain now. - He watched a full web series I love even though he hated it because I got super excited about it and he wanted to understand what I was excited about. -We went snowboarding in Bulgaria because I wanted to try a hobby of his.
We are a team, we have separate interests, the same interests and we create new interests together.
Date someone that supports you, date your partner in crime. Donāt date someone that doesnāt support your interests dude.
Like I actually do know the social pressures and bullshit that lead to women settling. As a culture it IS normed for women to learn about his interests, while making fun of men who reciprocate, and thatās a shitty thing that can be hard to overcome. But gods, itās WORTH DOING SO; donāt settle.
my spouse watches my shows with me (even when he doesnāt care for them), he actively asks if i want or need new make up when we pass my favorite makeup stores, he likes it when i read excerpts of my current books or movies, he asks after my succulents.
my man neil was just making a fun tweet and this cat straight up murdered him
We women, in trying to make our case clear, always have to make as part of our argument, and urge upon men in our audience the fact - a very simple fact - that women are human beings. It is quite evident you do not all realize we are human beings or it would not be necessary to argue with you that women may, suffering from intolerable injustice, be driven to adopt revolutionary methods.

āImagine youāre at a party. A guy offers you a drink. You say no. He says āCome on, one drink!ā You say āno thanks.ā Later, he brings you a soda. āI know you said you didnāt want a drink, but I was getting one for myself and you looked thirsty.ā For you to refuse at this point makes you the asshole. Heās just being nice, right? Predators use the social contract and our own good hearts and fear of being rude against us. If you drink the drink, youāre teaching him that it just takes a little persistence on his part to overcome your āno.ā If you say āReally, I appreciate it, but no thanksā and put the drink down and walk away from it, youāre the one who looks rude in that moment. But the fact is, you didnāt ask for the drink and you donāt want the drink and you donāt have to drink it just to make some guy feel validated.ā āThe Art of āNoā (Jennifer P.)

So ,Iām a music teacher and every year we have what are called āwalk through observationsā. Basically, this means that 4 times a year the principal or vice principal comes into my class to assess my teaching. Fine. Sure. No problem. Well, today I was doing an activity with my 1st graders called āMusical Groceriesā. Basically, they make up a fake shopping list and then together we figure out what the rhythm of the words on the list is. To do that, a small group of students plays the beat on the conga drum while the rest of the students move around the room while chanting the word. It sounds weird but itās a great way for the kids to figure out the relationship between syllables and rhythm. They quickly get bored of walking the rhythm so I let them come up with their own ways of moving around the room.( skipping, hopping, etc) One student suggested they hop around the room like frogs, way down low to the ground. Okay fine. Or it was fine until my vice principal walked in to do my observation only to find 20 seven year olds hopping around the room like a hoard of little hob-goblins, rhythmically chanting āBREAD! BREAD! BREAD!ā while five other kids played ominous beats in a drum circle. I have never seen anyone look so confused in my life and I really donāt want to know the rating I got on my observation.
