yeah i stan dumbasses. if youve been following me for years, you’d know that i love artists and can still condemn the bad things they’ve done like selena gomez, katy perry, lana del rey, and many more artists i can name who i also love and done stupid offensive shit. ariana grande joining that club isnt gonna change that cause i never put artists on a pedestal, and i expect they could eventually do things out of ignorance. i’m also actually mature enough to criticize them, acknowledge those, but still love them for their music and their good qualities so fuck outta here with this “cancel culture” mentality

yeah okay then im sorry you feel that way, but i dont excuse their actions and its not like NO artist or public figure HASNT DONE ANYTHING OFFENSIVE to any other culture in history like give me lists of names of artists who haven’t done any ignorant thing in their life and dont mention beyonce, rihanna, and nicki because they have certainly done offensive shit towards asians, and i’m asian, but i still love them (except nicki cause her music now sucks), so we are not gonna have this conversation right now

and you missed the point, i wasn’t giving them a free pass to continue being gross. I’m saying THEY HAVE DONE IT and there is nothing i can PHYSICALLY DO to UNDO the damage that has been done. i’ve reblogged posts calling them out and know personally the things that they’ve done are bad.

if you were to cancel everyone that is ignorant or has done really offensive ignorant things, then you literally wouldnt enjoy anything in life. it’s about FILTERING THE BAD THINGS and BEING CRITICAL about the media you consume

again, it’s TOTALLY FINE if you decide you no longer like or want to support an artist cause what they did is something you can’t tolerate BUT YOU CANT EXPECT PEOPLE WHO HAVE A MUSICAL CONNECTION WITH THOSE ARTISTS TO DO THE SAME, and you have to be mature enough to understand that
