I’m working on a new project, which I’m not sure about sharing just yet. I’ve decided I’m going to share (and re-share) some older pages while I work on other things. This is one of my first art journal pages, from September 2010.
A mixed media art journal page inspired by Teesha Moore and including a proverb about feeling rich, the spread was made with collage, ink, and acrylic paint.
September 2010 // First Journal
A messy paint spread with the words "say you'll haunt me" (Stone Sour) and a mixed media art journal collage about heartbreak with lyrics by Biffy Clyro ("our broken fairy tale so hard to hide / I still believe it's you and me 'til the end of time") and the words "cut off from the world"; the page was created with acrylic paint, ephemera, and ink.

Some of my first art journal attempts, 2009.
lifethroughjournals.com
Three pages from an early art journal. The left page features a dark, textured background with a silhouette of a tree against a vibrant red sky. Red boxes with black text from a personal poem are scattered across the page. The middle page has a bright green background with three photographs: one of a butterfly on leaves, another of a wooded path, and a third with horses in a field. Handwritten text in black is interspersed among the photos. The right page is predominantly white, filled with chaotic handwriting in black and red that repeatedly says "SWINE FLU," with additional words like "SCAREMONGERING."

hi!! I was just wondering what kind of moleskine you use. the binding on my journals fall apart when they get chunky :(
Hi! Really sorry for the delay in responding, I haven't logged into Tumblr for a while! If I buy Moleskines, I usually opt for the Moleskine Art Plus Sketchbooks, I've never had the binding fall apart (knock wood) and I use a lot of heavy media. Hope that helps!
March 2019 // Moleskine Sketchbook
A moleskine art journal illustration of WWE wrestler Asuka aka The Empress of Tomorrow, the page was created with ink and acrylic markers.
