I work at a B&Å and tonight I saw this in receiving! This basically explains the standards for placing RFID tags in books. As you can see, itās only certain books that will be tagged, but itās always good to check!
Also, be aware of the 20% off, 30% off stickers on the front of the books. In my location, these are almost always RFID stickers so remove everything you see! It wonāt hurt to take off anything that could possibly make you beep at the door.

I think itās possible yes, but difficult for sure. Itās one of those things that youād either A.) have to have a person on the inside or B.) have a VERY lax security store that sold them.
I assume many of them are source tagged or spider wrapped if left out, so the walk out method would be difficult if your store had good quality security.

Itās funny to me that clothes are generally considered higher level than small objects in this community cause for me personally, I donāt feel safe concealing anywhere but the change room and clothes are the easiest thing to conceal there. TBH I donāt even understand how to find a blind spot and I donāt think it matters how much I read up on it. Iām always very doubtful of myself and as long as Iām out on the floor Iāll never be convinced that a blind spot exists there. Itās too unnatural for me. But with clothes and dressing rooms itās relatively straight forward, just act like a normal shopper but be strategic with choosing items and positioning.
I agree clothing concealed in the fitting rooms are easy peasy. Blind spots, you have to scope the store beforehand to find them. If youāre good at memorizing, take note of where each camera is. if you can covertly take a picture, that helps. I make a map of the store and put Xs where the cams are, then estimate what their range is and try to find somewhere they probably donāt have a clear shot. When you go back, shop your way to that spot. No one finds the perfect blind spot on the fly (well maybe some can, but I donāt know how without being sus to the max). I like to create a blind spot by naturally hiding my hands under something Iām holding. I get small things this way, esp at supermarkets. Get a lipstick, go to the books section, get a magazine, flip through the mag with one hand while sticking the makeup in your pocket with the other. Crouching (to look at something on a low shelf) or concealing behind your back while your back is against a display, are other ways I create blind spots.

ā Favorite new Ulta technique ā They now have these 10 packs of face masks in my store in the Tony Moly section. Itās HUGE and great for hiding things under! I grab one, and walk around with it. I pick stuff up, hold it under the mask pack, and then hold the mask pack + my target item kind of by my side on the side with my purse (which is very slightly unzipped), and just slip my item in while the mask pack covers the item and my hand. You canāt tell Iām concealing AT ALL. Itās A+.
šØ I encountered a new type of tag at RE!, and itās crazy! It looks like a very strong mag tag (kind of like an oval UFO), plus a ZIP TIE. Has anyone seen these before and know what Iām talking about? Anyone tried removing one? I could try to go take a picture of it to post if needed. I want to know if it makes a noise (like a loud zip tie noise) when removed! I wanted to try it and see but am a chicken. š£
I also got a new and slightly larger magnet. I tested it on some of the tags I couldnāt remove before at RE! and H+M. It worked like a charm! š

Listen up, folks. Keeping in mind that your goal is to blend in while still looking like you have moneyā¦ You can do one outfit. For literally any store. Even super high end or as low end as Wal-Mart.

The reason this oh so basic outfit works is because itās chic and casual. Itās the basic āI just threw on some clothes that look nice but Iām not trying super hard todayā look. And thatās what you want. Go overkill, youāll be noticed and remembered. But how many fucking shoppers do you see daily wearing this exact outfit? 90% of the fuckers do it. Itās because itās a standard default look for a lot of women. And it works. It works REALLY WELL

I literally work retail and at a bookstore. Regardless of if someone steals a dress or a whole series of books Iām still getting $7 an hour. Can all you anti-lifters shut the fuck up and get a life that doesnāt involve policing others?
I have worked five retail jobs. I work one now. Half the time, I would hope someone stole because I hated the companies.
Got $70 worth of baby stuff today but I was so not confident at all the stores I went to!! I was definitely sus at Target. & I couldn't figure out how to get a full pack of lactation cookies but it's all good, I'll figure it out. I need to think about all the things I did wrong & fix them for next time.
