Me: Yes
Maps//The Front Bottoms
Since I’ve made a whole new blog, I thought I might share my story real fast.
The first two pictures up there are of me at 18 or 19 years old. Clearly I was struggling at that time in my life. I grew up feeling as though I was nothing special, always average. I had siblings who always seemed to be smarter than me and who (unlike me) had parents that stayed together. I always felt like I wasn’t good enough to keep my parents together but clearly my two younger sisters were. I never really felt like I was a horrible person, just average, just not special in any way.
But there was a way that I found to be special. I was always the small one, the one people called tiny and petite. I was frail and weak. I was the one who others joked about “oh you just can eat whatever you want” or “how I wish I had a metabolism like yours!” Until I went away to college and realized my body was making changes. I wasn’t staying naturally thin any longer, I was gaining curves and I didn’t know how to deal with this. I was no longer special in any way at all.
I decided to start counting calories. I fell for the 1200 calories a day bullshit (excuse my language but that’s what it is). I stared running and doing workout videos behind closed doors. Soon enough, 1200 calories wasn’t working for me. The numbers went lower and lower until I was tracking pieces of gum into my diet. I lost all of my friends, I ruined relationships, I started struggling in school, I hurt myself in ways I never believed I could. Eventually, my dad stepped up and forced me into therapy. I was diagnosed with anorexia. It was embarrassing and terrifying but I was determined to turn my life around. I knew I had a problem and I knew that I couldn’t live that way anymore. I was so unhappy and so sad and so lonely.
Once I had gained enough weight to be cleared as “healthy” I began dabbling in the fitness world. I lifted weights in a gym by myself (after countless hours of watching videos and researching) and I eventually joined crossfit (which I absolutely LOVE and am just taking a break from currently due to an injury that limits the movement I can perform aka all oly lifts). I love the challenge that fitness gives you, the way it pushes you to be better than you ever believed you could be.
Just recently I gave in and got CRUSH60. (Which holy crap is amazing and so challenging and JUST what I needed). ANYWAYS- Today I did back at the gym and multiple guys came up to me to tell me how impressed they were that I could deadlift 185 for reps so easily. (Mind you, I used to be TERRIFIED to deadlift in a regular gym). They told me that it was wonderful how I wanted to be strong. It really hit me then how much I have changed over the years. I used to THRIVE off of being the weak and frail girl that needed help. Today, I want to be strong, I want to be the girl that people are impressed by. I want people to know that I have worked HARD to become who I am. And I am going to do everything in my power to be the strongest version of me that I can be.
So I hope anyone who has ever felt like maybe they weren’t special or they weren’t good enough can use me as an example. Because guess what? I AM good enough. I am special and beautiful and important. And SO ARE YOU! Embrace who you are and be the best possible version of yourself :)
You are so awesome!!
I thought the coyote stretching its paws was cute so I made a GIF of it.

My back has been shitty again and I can't really deadlift... But I can overhead squat with no hip or back pain still. Maybe I'll just become on Olympic lifter instead
Don’t let the look fool you, he loves it to the point that showering alone can at times be a challenge. http://cute-overload.tumblr.com source: http://imgur.com/r/aww/3KIZ4kO
