Tragic princess. I shall not say anymore due to spoilers. Itâs been ages I last played the game, so I didnât really remember her outfit much. đ
Trying to set a different mood this time. Acquired a new brush pen and copic multiliner recently, so decided to give them a whirl. Think Iâll have to invest in an actual fine brush for lining.
Kevin is there when Linda comes to from the possession. Set between 8.02 and 8.07.

She wakes while Kevin sleeps. That pallor over the world fades with every blink and she is aware, first, of the world, then, of her heartbeat. It pounds, and she can barely hear herself or her son breathe over it.Â
The windows are frosted and painted with red satanic symbols. âKevin,â but her voice is hoarse and, Godâ
Red smoke had poured in, and in, curling itself into every place inside of her, someone else seeing Kevin through her own eyes, the sharp voice,
âKev and I are going to great things together, Mrs. Tran. Youâll be so proud,â and she pushed pushed pushed, screaming against the prison of her own flesh, while that awful ashen voice told her, âSo thatâs who the daddy is. My my my, wonât Kevin be so thrilled to finally know who daddy dearest is?â
She covers her mouth with her handsâwonât keep me outâand staggers to the corner of this hovel and she vomits up something green she canât remember eating. Nothing red. âMom?â Kevinâs voice is thick and he looks at her through half-lidded eyes, like when he was eight and wanted to sleep on the floor in front of her room so she couldnât go away, but then he scrambles over to her, puts hands on her shoulders, âYouâre awake!â
Linda takes in gulps of air as her son rubs her back. âIs⊠is it gone?â
âCrowleyâs gone, mom. Itâs okay, itâs okay,â but she retches again, tastes ash hot against her thick tongue, and Kevin wraps his arms around her, so tight, nothing like when he was five and his little arms didnât meet when he held her.
Her little boy isnât so little anymore. âThis is holy water,â he tells her, âIt fights against demons,â and a cool water bottle is placed to her lips and she drinks and drinks, till she sputters and chokes, almost like drowning again.
Kevin rubs her back, and she can feel the tremor in her hands, but is chokingâcanât reach out, canât comfort, not much of a mother, reallyâ
The water doesnât taste special, but Kevin says it fights demons.Â
âWhereâwhere are..?â she gestures with the hand holding the bottle, splashes water everywhere, but nothing happens, so Kevin must be cleanââThe⊠Sam and Dean?â
His hand on her back stills. Then, in a tight voice that reminds her of his father, âI donât know. Far from here, hopefully. Weâreâweâre on our own. No tablet means no closing the gates of Hell. And weâre better off without the Winchesters.â
Somethingâsomething is there and she wipes holy water from her mouth. ââŠWhat happened, Kevin?â but her voice is low and weak, trembling hard as she is, and she sounds nothing like herself, not like the authority figure Kevin needs.
Kevin resumes rubbing the soothing circles on her back. ââŠDean tried to kill you to get Crowley.â
A flash of itâagainst a pillar, hard against her back, huge man, knife, bloodlust in his eyes, and this is the sort of thing her parents used to warn her against, why you didnât walk by yourself late at night or wear shirts too low or skirts too high, and then the red pour pour pours from her mouth in a never-ending riverâand Linda drains the rest of the water. If Dean had killed her, Crowley would be dead.Â
ââŠWouldnât it be over, if Crowley is dead?â her voice is small against the vastness of the hovel.Â
âNo,â and he wraps his arms around her again, face pressing into her shoulder, hot and wet, âNo, Mom. No. Iâd rather have you here. With me.â And his voice catches, and he rocks and rocks her.
And, despite it being her job to comfort him, she lets him. God, she lets him.Â
There's something compelling about John keeping his father's journal.Â
I mean, that journal arrived shortly after Henry went missing, shortly after John lost his father. And I don't doubt that John's mom kept it for awhile, before passing it on to John. That journal possibly went with John to Vietnam. That journal survived the fire that killed Mary. And, after all of the revelations following Mary's death, he found a use for the journal after he started hunting.Â
I mean, this probably harkens back to John's family obsession, but I find it interesting in a lot of ways. I think it's telling that John keeps it, despite always telling the boys that his dad was a deadbeat that abandoned him as a kid.Â
8.12 thought: I did not appreciate Henry Winchester enough the first time I watched this episode. He is precious, and I wish we could have seen him interact more with Sam.
