The Japanese are generally very reserved and shy, and a spontaneous gesture or even a smile at my belly is a rare occurrence. So I was thrilled by the transformation when Halloween came around and my belly drew the attention of gentle touches & happy exclamations from the various costumed creatures we met out in Shibuya last night, including this 'supefluidy' of undead nuns! It was an incredible bonding time between me and my adopted homeland, and reminded me to be grateful for the little acts of courage when someone reaches out to touch you.
