Jay is a super out of the box thinker. Especially when it comes to inventions.

He sees things that can be used to build things that not even Zane or Pix can. He’ll see random scrap, say “Ooo!” And go and grab it. The first time pixal as all like “that’s not going to be beneficial.”

Then he builds a gun that only responds to his elemental power. Or a pair of wings that shoot rockets. Do they look good? No they’re made of junk! But do they work? By golly they do.

He also barely even uses blueprints. Half the time he just throws things together and hopes for the best. Not even Zane or Pixal understand how he’s sees things, but he NEVER sees things as garbage.
