We’re so pleased to be back on the FLOATING WORLD train! With lyrics by @likesubwaysfeel and music by @flightlesslovers, Pomeranian is our latest venture into the Shark Puppy discography. We imagined that this would be the first song that Richie and Eddie write together after going public about their relationship, and that the song describes the more commonplace things about being in love. You don’t stop loving your partner after the honeymoon phase after all!

i know people already have their ideas of what genre shark puppy plays but i love to imagine they play something similar to the sound of maggot by slutever. like this kind of alternative rock

i can’t get the shark puppy au out of my head, so take this...

The night that Richie and Eddie come out as a couple, they haven’t told anyone else what they’re doing.

Everyone else in the band is getting ready for the next song when Eddie starts pounding keys on the synth. It’s not any song they’ve performed before, and for a minute they’re not sure where it’s from. Richie slipped the lighting people 20 bucks, so there’s spotlights on only Eddie, Richie standing directly opposite on the stage.

Stan is the one to recognize what Richie is playing on the guitar, it’s from Camp Rock. It’s from Goddamn Camp Rock. This Is Me to be exact. And Eddie is singing his heart out, even more than Demi Lovato.

As Joe’s verse begins, it’s Richie singing, and the spotlight appears on him. They sing the chorus together on opposite sides, and then Eddie leaves the synth, Stan quickly jumps in to pick it up, as Eddie and Richie take their mics to the middle of the stage and sing into each other’s microphones.

Richie has abandoned his guitar, and moves to hold Eddie’s hand as they go into the last chorus. Eddie laughs, suddenly realizing how absurd it is that he agreed to sing a song from Camp Rock to come out to the world.

As the song comes to a close, before Eddie can even finish the last line of the chorus, Richie grabs his chin and tips his head up to kiss him. The crowd is cheering and the rest of the Losers are standing off to the side shaking their heads. Stan gives a thumbs up from behind the synth. Bev is the one to come out on stage and stop them from straight up making out in front of the crowd.

It is rumored to be about band member Richie Tozier, further supported by the musician opening up about his struggle with depression on Late Night with Seth Meyers.
