SHE   RESTS   WITHIN  MEDITATION  upon  this  mossy  rock  of  a  planet ,   inhaling  sharply  the  breeze  of  the  salty  sea  and  the  scent  of  it  that  follows  .    floating ,   suspended  in  air ,   the  grass  shifts  with  the  wind  beneath  her .      again ,    she  feels  it .    this  gentle  tug  of  a  different  time ,   a  different  place :    an  anger  and  a  sorrow  like  she  has  never  felt .   a  vast  darkness ,   a   ( re ) kindled   flame .    she  reaches  out  to  the  sensation ,   dives  into  the  vast  unknown .      she  is  not  afraid .        ❝    i  don’t    -----   i  don’t  understand .    ❞      she  says  aloud ,   brows  furrowing  as  she  chases  the  source  of  this  pull  ,   like  a  fox  on  the  trail  of  a  rabbit .        ❝    who .  .  .  are  you ?   what  are  you  trying  to  show  me ?    ❞

❛    i’m sorry.    ❜   it falls from her lips, quick and uncertain but full of life. she fidgets with her hands, anxiety electrifying the air in her lungs. she did, to an extent, feel responsible for this.   ❛    master skywalker,  really i -----    ❜    she looks upon the horizon, anywhere but luke’s gaze, seeking a familiar sunset or a ship, but finding no solace. she looks back down.      ❛    he should still be here. when he talked about you, i . . .  i could feel how much you meant to him.   ❜
