She stood in that unfamiliar place, surrounded by countless shining towers; the world void of all natural light.

Taking a moment to catch her breath, her fingers danced around her necklace. The necklace that, thanks to Master Aqua’s spell, had first brought her to Sora when she needed him most-- and now he needed her and she couldn’t let him stay lost. Not for one second more.

“Please be here...” she whispered to the small stone between her fingers before airstepping to the top of one of the taller buildings to survey her environment.

Empty. This couldn’t be the Realm of Death, it was too empty; almost as if the entire world had been abandoned.

She hugged her knees. “I guess I’ve gotta dive deeper, huh, Sora?” She asked the air, not expecting an answer and especially not expecting that answer to come in the form of a demonic gasp of breath behind her.

The Lich.

Her keyblade sprung from her hand as she leapt to her feet, prepared to face it, but the Lich didn’t seem to be interested in her, instead flying past her into the streets below. She watched it, wondering to herself what it could want in an empty street-- It was then that her eyes found the messy brown hair of the boy who had given everything for her... and the Lich mere steps behind him.

“Sora!” Kairi jumped from the tower, throwing her weapon through the creature and catching it as she landed; the Lich’s attention now wholly on her.

“You leave Sora alone!”
