No matter how finals go, this semester I:
landed my DREAM job (yes, apparently I dream of labor)
killed oral arguments
A word on toxic relationships
I thought Michelle would have grown up by now, but she said something snarky about me re J, and I was like ??? But I guess you still hate me for some reason. Because I am dating J and apparently I took your friend away from you.
Anyway I considered blocking her from IG, but settle on restricting her and maybe unfollowing.
I don’t need this toxicity in my life.
God this is such a mood (I've never been to an Ivy League college like this guy but I've been exposed to the same logic taking econ in community college lol)
transcript:
here's why i left economics. so, when i was a freshman at brown university, i took an econ class called "income, wealth and health inequality in the united states." this class was taught by president of brown university, christina paxson, and we spent the entire semester learning how to study inequality. and then, at the end of the course, paxson invited us all back to her 2 million dollar mansion, pictured here, for a nice catered dinner, with literal servants. and this experience, this irony, taught me that economists fundamentally view inequality the wrong way. they think about is as a natural fixture of our environment, something that we aren't implicated in, something that we can study for a semester and then go back to our mansions and enjoy dinner. something that is just there to study as scientists. and that is not true. inequality is a product of specific actions, behaviours, structures, and systems, just like this house, and the way that econ focuses distracts from the question of what the fuck we're supposed to do.

Chronologically I want to:
Pass the patent bar, write a book on crap happening in biotech patents
Get into law school
Get on law review
Land a 1L pat lit summer associateship
Build a tool that disrupts pat prosecution/be CEO of a start up
Land a 2L pat lit summer associateship
Land a pat lit associate position/pass the bar
Pay off loans, save up money for life
Do a fellowship/PhD to transition into academia
Be a professor, publish papers
Do science policy consulting work for the federal government
Work until I die
Maybe tack on a MS in bioe or CS somewhere before/during law school to supplement my startup stuff
GUYS I POSTED THIS THREE YEARS AGO
DID I TAKE THE PAT BAR YET? NO, BUT I THINK I WILL THIS SUMMER.
I GOT INTO LAW SCHOOL, GOT A 1L **AND** 2L PAT LIT POSITION, DON’T NEED TO DO LAW REVIEW, DON’T KNOW IF I WILL.
AM LOWKEY CONSIDERING A TECHNICAL MASTERS NOW THAT I DON’T HAVE TO DO LAW REVIEW.
COULD TOTALLY WORK ON BUILDING A DISRUPTIVE TOOL NOW THAT I’VE LANDED ALL OF MY JOBS.
TLDR, I’M ACTUALLY ON TRACK?!
