Clints characters are interesting in the sense that each of them is like morally shady a lil, but ultimately wanting to be good. Not to mention, being given something initially that isn’t REMOTELY wanted, but choosing to keep going forward with it to keep living life anyway despite anything.
Merle is a deadbeat dad who talks about just sort of stumbling into every major part of his life, being discontent with it until he decided to accept it and chose being happy above all else.
Gandy, although terrified of death from what happened to her parents, finds herself deep in the Darker parts of life because that’s the hand she was dealt, and she’s gonna run with that to get what she wants.
Ned his whole life has done awful things, and has the cryptonomica shoved into his lap, but he runs with it, he goes with it because he has no choice in the matter, this is the life he has now. He’s given the chance to be a better person, to grow from the things hes done, and he takes it at the price of his life.
Thacker even applies! He’s corrupted by the quell, and what does he do?? He uses that to his advantage, he rolls with the punches and looks destiny in the face and refuses to let it get to him.
In commitment, the whole organization is a setup as giving something that the main cast wants, but with it immediately backfiring into something awful, putting this huge mess in everyone’s laps and forcing them to deal with it and make the choice of just committing to living despite it.
Clint, by this logic, could be considered man vs fate
But in the sense that he gives into fate and makes the best of it, instead of fighting it.
