sleep time.
Normally Charles would not have bothered to try and go to a bar over the dirt in his chair. It was not exactly built for off roading. He had been in the car for a god awful long time, so he wanted a brake before he got back out on the road. He glanced around the bar, most of the thoughts seemed odd, and directed at him when people noticed the chair… Except for one…this one girl who he heard nothing from. Not a single thing.
"Pardon me…is there a table I might sit at?" he asked in as polite a tone as he could muster.
It was late in her evening shift by the time things had settled into a lull, and Sookie took a moment to sit down near the bar. There weren't that many people in at this hour, but it was always a little taxing to have to deal with the incessant press of other minds every time she passed. There were the usual stares and looks she'd long since gotten used to from Merlotte's regulars; after all, Bon Temps wasn't a big town, and she'd long ago been labeled as 'strange' by most of the people who came to the bar on a regular basis. She could deal with those much easier than the few tourists that came in, dropping by for food while on the road. Mental catcalls just galled her that little bit more than the few she endured outwardly; in the safety of their own heads, people tended to be a lot less likely to hold themselves back from imagining some very inappropriate things.
The sound of a cultured, accented voice cutting through the din caught her attention very quickly; back to work, as usual. Of course, she wasn't expecting what she was about to be confronted with: a handicapped stranger with an otherworldly silence about him. Wait, silence . . . She couldn't hear him. Why couldn't she hear him? Realizing she was staring, Sookie quickly shook herself out of the startled moment, giving a too-bright smile and murmuring "Oh, sure thing--" before busying herself with clearing a nearby table for his use.
you know what im craving? the kind of plot, verse, and rp partner that will have me staying up until 4 in the fucking am to keep a thread going because its that good and we are that in love with it. you feel me?
Every interaction between Sookie and Eric in this book is pure hilarious gold and I love it.
