I’m trying to go to the gym everyday instead of being horny and ITS NOT WORKING // also mildly obsessed more like
💋everytime you open your chat with Adrian, you find him lurking there
💋he’s always somehow 5 minutes away, waiting for you to invite him over. Or give him any excuse to check up on you really..
💋you catch glimpses of his Sebring following you home from work. When you leave late at night for a sweet treat he rides your bumper so hard you almost want to break check him out of spite.
💋but Adrian is always there… 🤭 so whenever you’re not feeling the best, he pops up to comfort you. If you’re feeling particularly crazy, he soothes your mind and reassures you. Adrian gives you no room to doubt him, you’re his entire life
💋your house is HIS house, as much as he’s concerned. No matter what time of day, doors locked or unlocked, he comes home to you. Sometimes he’ll stay all night and you get to wake up to his beautiful face nuzzled into your neck. Or he stops for dinner, or a quick cuddle. Even if he’s leaning against the bathroom counter while you’re peeing, Adrian is just happy to be around you.
💋Adrian doesn’t understand that to other people, saying, “I want to be in your skin,” can be a little alarming. But that’s how he feels. When you’re alone, Adrian has to be skin to skin, but in a hard way, he says. You cuddle in bed while he gropes at your body, pressing into you. The best is when you spoon and Adrian crushes you back into his chest while pressing his face into your neck. He’s either sniffing your skin, biting your neck, or digging his fingers into your soft flesh. Anything to blur the barrier between your bodies.

adrian arriving at your shared apartment completely smashed and painfully smitten (a chaotic combination when it comes to him), when he sees you on the living room couch he practically beams, he sprints towards you and then drops completely on top of you, he instantly buries his face into the side of your neck and sighs out something like "uggh- m'missed you sooos'bad"
it all makes you giggle sweetly at him, thinking it's plain innocent and silly at first, just so happy to see your boyfriend after so many hours of him being away at some work related get together.
getting to see his pretty face all flushed and red when he's drunk always makes your stupid crush on him a lil bit worse.
you absolutely fail to notice the way adrian started mindlessly grinding up on your bare leg as soon as it made contact with his jean covered crotch, that the way his arms circled around your waist wasn't just to hold you close, it was also to keep you in place and pressed so so tightly against him.
adrian doesn't even realize he's doing it at first either, he just keeps seeking out the friction while whimpering out "wanted y'with me the whol'time, why weren't you? i love youu- don't y'love me?" but of course his voice is growing so much higher in pitch with every drag of his hips
the heated quality of his words suddenly feel overwhelming as they hit on your pulse, his neediness bleeds into you so quick it makes you just as dizzy as he is

"Say it — we're just friends," you pulled back from the kiss, squeezing Adrian's cheeks.
"Just friends," he said, somewhat convincingly, "although I think that's a stupid nickname." He leaned back in, his hands around your waist, gloved fingers pressing into your own tactical suit.
"Adrian, it's not a nickname, I just need you to understand what's happening here."
"Fuck, fine, friends, whatever, can we go back to kissing now?"
"Sure," he pushed you back, lips locked together and breathing heavy even when you could hear the rest of the 11th Street Kids running back towards the van.
"Adrian, they're coming back."
"So — I — don't — care." He punctuated his words with kisses, turning even closer into your body, "we're not doing anything wrong."
He looked completely at peace with the possibility that any minute your friends and colleagues could walk around the end of the van and see you tangled together like teenagers.
"We are because we're supposed to be friends!" You hissed.
"Well…it's a good job I told them you're my girlfriend then." He grinned before ducking down to keep kissing you.
And you allowed it. Maybe more than friends, maybe even boyfriend and girlfriend, wouldn't be so bad…

Adrian had never truly been sick before.
Sure, he faked being sick when he was still in school. Anything to stay home and play video games without Gut tormenting him or hogging the television.
But being actually sick; running nose, upset stomach, sore throat, just any of it—he had truly never experienced. It was honestly the coolest thing ever. He never had to worry about germs or food poisoning or anything really like that. It was great, he loved it.
Until the first time it became an issue.
One downside of never truly being sick is that he had no idea how to take care of other people when they were sick.
He wasn’t a moron. He knew what medicine to buy, he knew soup and crackers was always a solid option, and he knew just being there for the person who was ill was important. But put it all in practice and well…
Let’s just say he was very much out of his element.
So when his girlfriend came down with the flu and asked him to come over and drop off some stuff; he instantly panicked.
He didn’t want her to think he was some idiot man who didn’t know how to take care of someone, and she didn’t know he was Vigilante yet, so she had no idea that he had a freakish body that never stayed hurt or sick.
So, according to Chris, he just had to fake it till he made it.
Luckily, Adrian had Reddit and Wikihow at his disposal as he ran through the grocery store grabbing various medicines, self care items, classic soup and crackers, and of course, her favorite snacks as he collected what could only be considered a dragon horde’s worth of sick day supplies.
“Hey,” he said gently into the phone as he sat in her parking lot, fingers drumming on his steering wheel as he listened to her breathe, sounding stuffy. “How are you feeling?”
“Like I’m dying,” she said, voice sounding small and wrong. Panic washed over Adrian at just the thought of her dying, but he knew it was just the flu, and in a couple of weeks she’d be fine.
“Oh,” he said softly, uncharacteristically quiet as his nerves grew. “Does that mean you don’t want company?”
He listened to her shuffle and after a beat he saw her curtains being drawn. He couldn’t make out the expression on her face as her eyes landed on his Sebring, but he was fully prepared to leave all his goodies at her door and high tail it out of there.
Although, he’d prefer to see her always.
“Ade, I don’t want to get you sick,” she said gently, and Adrian’s smile grew; it wasn’t a no.
“I’ve got a great metabolism, I won’t get sick,” he said softly, and he heard her sigh into the phone, disappearing from the window.
“If I let you in and you get sick, you cannot get whiney on me,” she said, a half-empty threat that made him smile, knowing that even though they’ve only been dating for five months, she cared about him, and if somehow he did get sick, she would take care of him.
Whining and all.
With just a touch of ‘I told you so.’
“I won’t, I promise!” he said, unbuckling his seatbelt. He kept his phone in the crook of his neck, pressed to his ear while he grabbed all his shopping bags as he ran up to her front door. “I brought you a bunch of stuff, I’m not great at cooking so I grabbed some premade soup, but I can always run out and get something else if you’re craving something!”
“What were you going to do if I said no?” she asked as she opened her door, hanging up the phone and even though he was right in front of her he couldn’t help the small pout on his face as she didn’t say goodbye to him before hanging up. However, getting to see her with his own two eyes was good enough for him.
“Leave everything at your door?” he said, and she sighed, but a smile grew on her face.
“Come in,” she said, opening the door wider, and Adrian came in and started putting everything away. Out of the corner of his eye, he watched her slowly move back to the couch with a sigh. He frowned as he watched her shift, clearly uncomfortable even in her pajamas and clearly having a pretty relaxing day.
“How are you feeling?” he asked, moving towards her and handing over her favorite flavor of gatorade, already open, and some cold medicine. She smiled weakly as she took it from Adrian’s hands.
“Like shit, but thank you for bringing stuff over,” she said before swallowing the medicine, voice sounding gravely.
“Yeah, of course,” he said gently, sitting next to her on the couch. Despite her early concerns about germs and Adrian getting sick, she was quick to put her gatorade down and lay her head on his lap. His hand quickly found its way to her hair as he gently stroked her hair as she let out a shaky sigh.
“Sorry, I’m sick,” she murmured, sounding genuinely upset. “I know you were looking forward to this weekend.”
“This weekend?” Adrian said, tilting his head to the side as he tried to rack his brain into what she was talking about.
“Going to Chris’s?” she said, voice lifting up to a question and Adrian let out a loud ‘ohhh.’ In all his worry for her health he had completely forgotten that Chris had invited them over for a movie night with the rest of the 11th Street Kids. Adrian was always beyond excited to spend time with her and his friends - especially considering for the longest time no one believed she was real.
“I don’t care about that,” he said with a small laugh. “We can go to Chris’s any weekend and hang out, I’d rather you feel better.”
“Me too,” she said mournfully, and Adrian smiled.
“Well, it’s okay, because you’ll be feeling better in no time and I’ll take care of you the whole time! I brought your favorite snacks, lots of medicine, classic cold stuff, some onions-”
“Some onions?” she asked, eyes flying open to look at him and his brows furrowed.
“Yeah, I read on Reddit-”
“Adrian, what have we said about trusting Reddit for things?”
“Do a double check with other sources, but people were saying if you put onions in your socks when you sleep you’ll wake up and feel better!” he said, sounding excited to teach her something new. She let out a huff of air as she closed her eyes and rolled back over.
“If you come anywhere near me with an onion, let alone in my sock, I will kick you in the face,” she said firmly. He frowned.
“Okay, we’ll stick with traditional medicines for now, but if you’re still sick in three days I think we should consider some home remedies.”
“I can still kick you out,” she said, and he laughed, shaking his head but saying nothing more, as he continued stroking her hair gently as she started dozing off. He smiled as her breathing evened out and she started to gently snore. He was happy that at least she seemed able to get some rest. All the Reddit communities said sleep was really important.
Plus he could try some different home remedies later.
Adrian told you not to stay up late waiting for him because he had a patrol shift tonight, much to his dismay. After all, that meant he couldn’t spend the night with you.
A few hours had passed since he left, and by now the rain had picked up and was pouring outside, filling the quiet room with harsh pattering from where it hit the bedroom window. You decided it was time to head to bed, going through your regular nighttime routine, navigating the room with the dim light coming from Adrian’s bedside lamp that he insisted he needed because you didn’t want to admit that you hated the dark, but of course he picked up on it pretty quickly. You finally tuck yourself under your warm bedsheets and drift off to sleep.
—-----------
When he finally gets back, he quietly creeps into your bedroom, making sure not to wake you. Once he cleans himself up, he walks over to sit on his side of the bed, placing his glasses on the bedside table before rolling over to face you. He watches you sleep for a few minutes, noting how your chest rises and falls in the dimly lit room. He trails the tips of his fingers softly over the beauty marks covering your arms, placing a gentle kiss on your shoulder.
He couldn’t help but admire how beautiful you looked in this light, how peaceful you looked. He hated making you worry every time he went out on patrol, but someone had to do it. Besides, coming back to you every night made it worth it. No matter how many times he repeated this routine, he knew he would never get over how safe he felt with you. He knew that no matter what, you accepted him for who he was, vigilante and all. There is nowhere else he would rather end his nights than with you.
He notices the goosebumps on your shoulder and pulls the blanket up, draping it over your shoulders to keep you warm.
You stir awake and look up at him with hazy eyes. “Hi baby, when did you get in?” you mumble, still half asleep.
“Just now…mhm…do you know how pretty you look?” He whispers, not daring to break the quiet atmosphere.
“You always say that.” But it doesn’t fail to bring a smile to your face like every other time.
“Well, it’s true.” He says, shifting himself closer to you, pushing your hair out of your face, placing a gentle kiss on your forehead.
You lean into it and wrap your arms around his waist, pulling yourself closer to his warmth. He notices and wraps his arms around you, pulling you flush against his body, feeling you relax into his side.
You mumble out a question asking how his night went, but he dismisses it, saying he’ll tell you tomorrow morning. You tuck your face into the crook of his neck and doze off seconds later. He stays awake a bit longer, taking comfort in how much you trust him, how safe you must feel with him to share a bed with him every night despite all the things he does when he goes out at night. He’s glad he can be a safe space for you, but he’s more glad about the warm, yet ticklish breaths brushing against his neck where you rest. He looked down at you lovingly and knew he could never imagine giving you up.

[CAMCORDER REC: TITLE: SCHOOL PROJECT- DATE: 24 JAN 2006]
“Oh Sir Tristan I doth wish I was not to marry King Mark, but thee instead, but my father wills it so!” You swooned over the top for the camcorder that Adrian held up.
This was your end of year project for middle school English class, and you’d selected to make a video for the creative response. Your latest obsession was the knights of the roundtable and King Arthur. Dressed up in a silk dress you’d sown together from an old curtain over your regular clothes, you were currently Lady Isolde.
Adrian had helped you make a mock set in his bedroom with plastic vines and painted cardboard to look like a castle. If you tried to make the video at home, one of your parents would barge in and ruin it. Besides you didn’t have a camcorder, whereas Adrian’s mother had one to record all of her son’s football games and band recitals.
“How was that?” You asked.
“Uh, great! You’re um…wonderful.” Adrian blushed watching you behind the camera.
“Okay now put it down on the tripod, time for our last big scene!” You pointed to the stack of comic books Adrian had set up. “And get into the shot…that’s it and alright action!” You moved Adrian around by the arm and snapped two rulers together.
“O-oh lady Isolde, I doth wish to uh m-marry you too!” Adrian could hear his own voice cracking. He was wearing Gut’s football helmet and padded jersey which engulfed him, wrapped with tinfoil to try and make it look like knight armor.
“But your marriage to King Mark will certainly stop the wars of two nations, we cannot be s-selfish!” He tried to focus on the lines but stumbled when you took his hands into yours.
“I know this Sir Tristan! And I know you are a most honorable knight! Oh how cursed we are to be so close yet so afar!” You cried out dramatically and fell to the floor, poking him in the knee for Adrian to catch you.
While you were pretend sobbing clutched to his chest, Adrian tried to read out his last line with a heavy gulp. “C-cursed indeed! Lady Isolde please do not cry for I uh…I l-love thee more than I love air itself!” It was true, he loved you so much he forgot to breathe sometimes.
"Then fold your arms round me close tonight Sir Tristan and strain me so that our hearts may break and our souls go free at last!" You declared, nudging Adrian with an elbow to wrap his arms around your shoulders. He did so trembling,
“Take me to that happy place of which you told me long ago! The fields whence none return, but where great singers sing their songs forever…take me now!” You sighed melodramatically in his arms, neither of you really understanding the insinuation of those last three words.
Flipping up the football helmet, Adrian inched closer to your face, he was so close to you right now, lips nearly touching. Sadly kissing you wasn’t in the script though, maybe he could suggest it?
“Okay next scene! Sir Tristan is dying and laments his lost love!” You interrupted the moment obliviously and stood right up.
“S-sure.” Adrian laid down pretending to be maimed in battle. A pool noodle was used to evoke a sword stabbed into his chest, that he held between his armpit.
“Ugh…ow I’m hit! Felled on the blade of a vagrant swordsman without honour no less! I’M DYING UGGGGHhhh!” Adrian yelled over the top, writing in mock pain with such vigour that you giggled and shook the camcorder.
“Excellent! Now read your lines out as per the cue cards, remember you’re telling your best friend Kaherdin what you want your beloved Isolde to know on your deathbed.” You ordered him and like always Adrian’s face quirked into a smile whenever you got bossy. He found it super cute.
“Tell my lady Isolde, tell her that my heart salutes her! Tell her that she alone can bring me comfort! Tell her that if she does not come I shall die...” Adrian read it all out without stammering, his green eyes locked with yours through the camera. “Tell her to remember our past time, and our great sorrows, and all the joy there was in our loyal and tender love…”
You felt yourself blushing with how intense he was now, like the words were intended for something more beyond the camera, but that was a stupid fantasy, love was best kept in fairytales.
“And tell her to remember that draught we drank together on the high seas. For we drank our death together!” He rose his fist up towards the camera, shaking it fiercely.
“Tell her to remember the oath I swore to serve a single love, for I have kept that oath…” Adrian finished the scene beautifully, eyes shutting closed as he died a heroes death.
“Perfect! You’re a really good actor.” You beamed down at him and Adrian felt over the moon from your praise. After dinner, you stayed at his house for a bit longer to finish up the assignment together.
“Hey, uh what if when we grow up we get married for real?” Adrian asked you quietly from his computer, he was helping you cut up the footage on his computer with movie maker.
Meanwhile you were in your own world, assisting Adrian with his Of Mice & Men analysis which was riddled with unnecessary punishments for crimes and calls to murder Lennie for hurting the rabbit.
“Huh?” You couldn’t hear anything with Avril Lavigne’s newly released banger Keep Holding On currently deafening your eardrums from the iPod he’d lent you. “Did you say something?”
“No! It wasn’t anything. Just uh forget it! N-nothing important.” Adrian couldn’t repeat himself, it was too embarrassing.
“Alright then, don’t you think it’s so cool how Sir Tristan keeps his oath for Lady Isolde? Even though it’s a doomed relationship and she’s married to someone else. I think that’s true love.” You mused, leafing through Adrian’s notes on how he’d torture Curley back in revenge.
“Yeah I think that too…” Adrian nodded, unable to make eye contact. He had made a similar oath, if you’d ever marry someone else he would always still love only you.
But instead of admitting that he stared at the trippy windows media player screen and pretended it was a portal to travel forward in time to his wedding day with you.
Current Day
[CAMCORDER REC: TITLE: WEDDING REHEARSAL- DATE: 24 JAN 2026]
Adrian really did mean to be on time to his own wedding rehearsal. He really did. But that’s not what happened on the day.
Instead there was a spring of bank robberies across Evergreen and no end in sight. Innocent people were getting shot and the more he heard about it on the radio in his tux while driving the Sebring.
Going past branch and branch with police officers sprawled out uselessly behind their picket fence lines and paltry blue and white checkered tape, the angrier he got.
Now the FBI got involved to be just as useless with megaphones and offering deals for the hostages instead of storming in and killing these motherfucking criminals.
Somebody had to do something about this!
And that somebody was Vigilante.
You’d totally understand, right?
Pulling up behind a Wendy’s Adrian undressed behind the dumpster from his wedding rehearsal suit into his Vigilante combat suit. When he got the helmet on, Adrian fumbled for his phone and shot off a quick text before racing off to save the day.
[Honey Bear]: HEY WILL BE LIKE AN HOUR OR SO LATE SORRY.
[Sugar Bear]: What’s wrong? Did you get a flat tire?
You never got a reply.
Adrian switched his phone off to not to be distracted. He had three banks to cover in one hour and roughly ten to fifteen or so people to kill after all.
“He’s going to be late.” You sighed waiting around at the church. “Around an hour or so.” Oh well it wasn’t the end of the world, you supposed. Or knowing Adrian and his shenanigans, it could fully well be the end of the world.
Mrs. Chase meanwhile looked like she was going to blow a gasket. “I can’t believe him!” she ground her teeth, vein popping at her temple.
“Oh my I’ve never seen Loretta so tense…someone should do something about this!” Langston resolved and went over to try and calm her down. Whatever he whispered into her ear had Mrs. Chase giggling in moments.
Everyone waited around for him to show up and played rounds of UNO to pass the time until Eagly being a sore loser stole the whole pack and flew off.
“The line said it was a 6 not a 9…” John shook his head at the bird.
“Hm I guess he’s really busy.” You frowned, it was well over an hour, nearly two now.
Chris had walked outside to chastise Eagly for his behavior but also to check in on his dumbass best friend and make sure he wasn’t actually dead or dying. Calling the emergency phone number that went to a burner cell in his utility belt, with a label that read P&V-SIGNAL, despite Chris’ protests, Vigilante picked up.
“Dude! You should totally get down here, it’s amazing right now! TAKE THAT MOTHERFUCKER!” Adrian laughed like a lunatic upon picking up. Chris could hear the gunfire in the background and screams, Vigilante was clearly letting loose somewhere.
“No dude, you need to get down here! Like right fucking now, your mother is pissed! I have never seen Mrs. C angry and it’s really scary. Em is showing her the chainsaw in the van as we speak.” Chris hissed in a whisper, afraid that either woman would hear him.
“What?! So my mom gets to kill someone with a chainsaw before I do? That is so fucking unfair. I’ll be like ten minutes I swear. They’re all mostly dead I think and the C4 is all in place.” Vigilante nodded to the bloodbath around him and waved off the terrified citizens out the door. “You’re welcome!” he shouted, and Chris heard the return of “Please don’t hurt us!”
“Man it’s hard being a superhero and keeping a work life balance isn’t it P? I hope my precious sunset isn’t upset…” Adrian worried as he tore ass out to the Sebring and switched the detonator.
Chris looked over and saw you were fine, “No she’s alright, playing some jenga with the gang.”
“Sweet, tell her I’ll be right there!” Adrian yelled through the ensuing explosion and Chris, not wanting to rupture his eardrums, hung up.
“You’ve only booked out the venue for the two hours ma’am. Dinner service is finished now, and we will have to ask you all to leave in around 15 minutes. Terribly sorry.” The concierge kept up their brightest customer service smile and Mrs. Chase nodded sadly.
“I’m so sorry about my idiot son. Please don’t let this put you off marrying my Adrian…I do really think that you’re the only woman who truly understands him and could make it work!” Mrs. Chase lamented.
“It’s alright, I’m sure he had his reasons.” You nodded, non plussed. “It’s only the rehearsal and not that actual day.” You honestly didn’t really think the rehearsal was necessary in the first place but also didn’t want to argue with Mrs. Chase, she was a force to be reckoned with just like her son.
“See! That’s what I’m talking about, you’re so patient and good with him…” Mrs. Chase looked on the brink of tears. Then suddenly the church doors bursted open and hard footsteps sounded.
“SORRY!” Adrian shouted running in, completely forgetting he was still fully in the Vigilante suit, helmet and all.
“Adrian Allen Chase, what on earth do you think you’re doing?! You had better not be in that ridiculous get up of yours on the actual day young man!” Mrs. Chase chastised him.
Looking down Adrian freaked out. “Oh shit…Mom I can explain it’s just cosplay!” Adrian tried to explain, tearing off his helmet. “I was at a convention where they shoot you with paintball guns!”
“I know you’re actually Vigilante young man, I birthed you and despite what you may think I am not an idiot.” Mrs. Chase rolled her eyes, her attitude stunning Adrian. It was like looking into an uncomfortable mirror of himself that he didn’t want to admit was there.
“What the fuck? You knew that he’s out there killing people Mom?! And you never thought to mention it to me?” Gut snapped, turning to everyone else who shrugged. “Does everyone else know?”
“I knew already! Uncle Adrian told me he was a superhero, but I had to pinkie swear to keep it secret. Sorry Daddy.” Abby admitted.
“I also figured it out babe, you’re kind of dense. But I love that about you.” Beck kissed her freaking out hubby on the cheek. In her arms was baby Charlie, who glared up at his father as if it was obvious to even a newborn.
“No way my little bro is god damn Vigilante…” He was having a fully blown existential crisis that his once frail little crybaby of a brother could now kick his ass blindfolded.
“Yes way!” Adrian snapped back proudly. “There were bank robbers and I stopped all of them and there was this massive explosion and it’s all over the news!”
“Yeah we know you’re going viral on YouTube dude.” John scoffed, showing them all the video. The title made your eyebrows launch from your forehead.
[EVERGREEN LOCAL NEWS: LOCAL LUNATIC VIGILANTE BLOWS UP EVERGREEN NATIONAL BANK!] 187k views
A stuffy-looking reporter was standing in front a fiery ruin, tie strangling his large head as he robotically read off the teleprompter, firefighters and police in a frantic scurry to handle the chaos around them.
‘Millions of dollars are now nothing more than ash thanks to local masked lunatic Vigilante who has mowed down a group of bank robbers and after sending out the hostages to the FBI and Evergreen Police, used the C4 explosives the gang members were planning to use on vaults to murder the robbers who fled into the vault to escape the known mass murderer…the FBI and several other agencies have put up the total on Vigilante’s most wanted listing, but have advised the public to not attempt to engage….more on this horrific scene at 7…’
“That’s a little bit over dramatic…” Adrian rolled his eyes.
“Dude that is fucking rad!” Chris high-fived him.
“Wow this crazy dipshit Vigilante needs to be stopped! Top comment by the way.” Rip announced with a shit eating grin.
Adebayo sighed, “Checkmate is going to get serious heat for this.” Then Sasha turned to you and added, “Keep your man on a tighter leash.”
“There's a link to a petition to put Vigilante in prison. It’s got like thousands of signatures already.” John showed them all on his phone.
“So many criminals in Evergreen, hey you mind sending me that link?” Adrian asked but everyone made him promise not to stalk people that signed the petition.
“Here’s a real crazy comment. Vigilante is hot AF and did nothing wrong! I wish he’d blow up my bank vault…that’s written by someone called Vigilante_Vixen.” Harcourt frowned.
“People online are so weird…” You quickly logged out of your YouTube account so nobody could clock that the username and comment was yours. Adrian, however, knew your account name and gave you a knowing grin. “Yeah total weirdos out there in that pesky cyberspace.” He agreed cheekily.
"Should I have a bachelor party? Will you organize one for me best man?" Adrian suddenly asked Chris who laughed at the daggers you were sending the two of them.
"Uh I don't know, it usually involves going to a strip club, ya know with chicks.” Chris tried to explain.
"Awesome! Let's for sure do that then!" Adrian grinned.
"How is that awesome?" You were shocked.
"What's wrong with us going to get chicken strips? I love chicken strips, can't believe there is a whole club dedicated to it." Adrian asked, completely confused with your angry response.
"No like chicks, women who take their clothes off for money and give you lap dances." Chris laughed.
"Ohhh. No thanks then. Can we go out for chicken strips as bros instead?" Adrian asked with a bored shrug.
"Sure thing buddy, we'll get you some chicken strips." Chris gave his best buddy a reassuring pat on the shoulder, glad that he wouldn't be going to sleep in the dog house tonight.
Clearing your throat to get back his attention, you announced, “Well the rehearsal is over. We lost our timeslot for the practice dinner.”
“Sorry my gorgeous sunflower…” Adrian winced at your reaction, but you were smiling.
“That’s okay! How about we go get those chicken strips?” You suggested. “I know just the place.”
Fennel Fields was still just as much of a shit hole as you’d remembered. The linoleum floors were just as sticky, that window at the front had a crack in the corner, menus were faded yellow behind the laminated sleeve with pen and white-out marking any changes in price.
Yet somehow the mozzarella sticks and chicken strips were dope. Small miracles.
There wasn’t anyone working that you recognized anymore outside of Dave, who looked a lot less stressed out. You had to wonder if that was because Adrian had resigned.
“Woah what are you two doing here?” Dave asked bewildered, then saw the large cohort you’d brought along.
“Got some booths? We’re celebrating our wedding tomorrow!” Adrian motioned to you, snaking an arm around your waist.
“Damn I knew you had bad taste, but marrying Adrian? That’s the definition of insane, and I still work in hospitality.” Dave scoffed playfully and led you all in to take a set. Handing around the menus, you saw Dave grab his phone out and make a call.
“Good to see you too Dave.” You laughed.
“Dean is still such a dick.” Adrian rolled his eyes, flipping through the plastic menu.
“It’s Dave, Dean was the previous manager they are separate people…” You tried to tell him, but Adrian looked at you like you’d crash landed from Mars.
“Wow, so this is where you two worked! So cute.” Mrs. Chase was recording everything and had Langston on photograph duty with her digital camera. You couldn’t help but notice his hand rested on her thigh every so often when they thought nobody was watching.
“Now that I think about it, you never did come into the restaurant!” You realized that was strange.
“Hm? Adrian didn’t want us to dearie.” Mrs. Chase explained with one of those thinly veiled exhausted motherly smiles at her crazy son.
“Oh yeah lil bro would flip the fuck out if me or mom tried to visit you and him at work.” Gut laughed, chomping on some breadsticks. “Adrian always got super jealous, wanted to monopolize all of your time.” You could see the older sibling mechanics in play, easily riling up Adrian who shook his head, face now bright red.
“NO IT’S BECAUSE YOU TWO ARE EMBARRASSING!” Adrian yelled, now the only one embarrassing himself in the whole restaurant.
“Aw that’s sweet, you wanted to spend time with her?” Adebayo said, dipping a breadstick into some garlic butter.
“Yeah but I got made to be on different sections, because I got too distracted or whatever…” Adrian grumbled. “So it was only ever like 8 hours max on doubles that I could talk to her.”
“That still seems like a lot of Adrian talking at you time.” Harcourt looked as though he was describing her worst nightmare.
“Hey, the happy couple! You guys actually did it!” A familiar voice called out, and you turned to see Taylor, for once not in the Fennel Fields uniform. He was dressed in a snazzy grey button up and corded jeans, probably designer but you weren’t clued into fashion.
“Taylor!” You leapt up from the booth and gave him a hug. Adrian awkwardly got up and shook his hand. “Sup dude.”
“Sup dude indeed, wow this is quite the improvement from Sharon Osbourne huh? Holy shit, I thought that Dave was setting up a prank or punk’d situation here but nope! This is fucking awesome.” Taylor grinned widely and Adrian looked around somewhat panicked.
“It’s not punk’d right? I am actually marrying you tomorrow?” He whispered into your ear and calmed down when you nodded, kissing him on the cheek.
“Don’t mean to crash your party, but can I?” Taylor asked.
“S-sure, crash away…” Rip replied, his cheeks somewhat pink looking Taylor up and down. “There’s totally a seat next to me.” He physically shoved Sasha to move down and make room.
“Of course, you are invited tomorrow if you can make it! Same with Dave, and I should really text Dean and Blake too…” You felt guilty, these people from your past made things easier at your lowest but with all of the change going on you’d neglected to reach out.
“No worries at all, it’s been a crazy year.” Taylor shook his head, putting you at ease. "I'll text them too!"
Rip waved him down into the plush booth, “You can definitely be my plus one, I’m Rip by the way. Rip Jagger.” He introduced himself, making sure to show off his impressive gains.
“Good to know and fitting name. You’re ripped as hell my guy, what gym do you go to?” Taylor winked, settled back and looking very pleased to have caught his attention.
“Does it feel weird being back here?” John asked you, sipping on a caramel milkshake that you swore you saw him sneak some monster energy into.
“A little bit, there were some pretty good memories here though outside of the crazy Karens and douchebags trying to pinch my ass.” You replied with a shrug.
“Remember when the soda machine broke because rats chewed through the wires?” Adrian grinned and you watched Gut spit out his coke zero. “They were super cute, but I think they were trying to become a king rat.”
“What’s a king rat?” Abby asked innocently.
“Just a big rat honey, don’t google it.” Bec told her, distracting Abby with some dino nuggies.
“Or when the bathrooms got so clogged we had to call the city water division to fix the pipes?” You said, happily sipping your malt.
“How about when that new dude put ice cubes into the oil traps and it all spilled on the floor like lava?” Adrian replied, green eyes widening. He took a sip from the second straw in the malt.
“Cleaning up after kids birthday parties when they’d vomit from the promotional bottomless chocolate mountain ice-cream cake…” you recalled fondly.
“Cleaning up after adults Superbowl parties when they’d vomit from the promotional bottomless mudslides and nacho mountains…” Adrian reminisced.
“That lady who tried to change her babies diaper on the concierge desk…”
“That guy who would smoke vapes by the fire sprinklers to take a shower…”
“Wow how in the fuck did you two work here for so long?” Chris asked baffled.
You and Adrian looked at one another for a little while before shrugging with a big goofy grin plastered on both your faces. “It makes for great stories!”
“I personally blocked all of that from my brain, thanks a lot for the trauma.” Taylor sighed.
“Maybe we should’ve gotten married here?” Adrian wondered aloud and everyone in the room bemoaned that idea instantly.
“That’s a nice idea Adrian, but where we’ve picked is a good spot. The church is really pretty. Besides I was proposed here before and I’d…rather not.” You said and Adrian nodded, kissing you on the forehead.
Adebayo broke the silence over the crunching of dope mozzarella sticks, “Where are you guys going for your honeymoon?”
“We’re going to go scuba diving!” Adrian couldn’t wait to launch into the plan you’d booked out. “And we’ll see sharks, dolphins, manta rays and all kinds of marine animals!” He was basically vibrating in his chair from excitement at the prospect. “Did you know that manta ray spots are like fingerprints? All of them are unique, unlike leopard spots that change.”
“We’re also on a tour with Garth Curry, who will take us to Atlantis!” You couldn’t wait to see a whole new culture under the ocean.
“Oh yeah that’ll be cool too I guess…” Adrian said, idly sipping on the malt.
“Plus, no air travel needed.” You added and Adrian gripped your hand lovingly.
The gang ate chicken strips, drank free soda and coffee re-fills and swapped stupid stories well into the night. At least you didn’t wake up with a hangover the next morning for the big day.
"What the fuck do you mean we have to separate while we get ready before the wedding? Mom you're insane!" Adrian snapped, standing in the changing room at the church.
"For the last time it's tradition Adrian!" Mrs. Chase insisted, rifling a metal comb through his hair. "Now stand still!"
"Ugh you're going to rip my scalp off!" He protested but didn't move.
"I want to go see her and tell her like a hundred million things though!" He whined the whole time getting ready, his mother helping tie his silk teal tie up and straightening the shoulders of his black tux.
Meanwhile you were facing a slight nervous panic attack at the prospect of getting married for the second time, this time it was in front of a crowd. Your first wedding was a terrible barbeque at your mother’s house, so it was a major improvement but still the fears and twinges of anxiety persisted.
“You’ll be okay, it’s natural to be nervous.” Adebayo reassured you along with Harcourt, who helped you with your hair and makeup every step of the way. Taking a deep breath, you nodded, ready to take the plunge out the doors into the beginning of the rest of your life.
When you walked out it was like a homecoming with all of your friends along the way, old colleagues from Fennel Fields, new colleagues from Paws a Moment, the 11th Street Kids and Checkmate crews, as well as the Chase family. You didn't feel lonely or trapped like you had at your first wedding, this was what it felt like to be supported and loved by a room of people.
Britney Spears’ Everytime was the song you decided on to walk down the aisle to, and Adrian’s head whipped nearly off his neck to get a look at you when the church doors opened.
I believe we all have one true love
Somewhere in this world, I do…
Gut walked you down the aisle, linked at the elbow. Abby trailed behind throwing flowers and helping keep the train of your dress up along with Eagly who waddled up with the rings in his claw.
When it seemed all my dreams were falling through
That's when I found you…
Adrian forgot how to breathe and blink. You were so beautiful.
I believe for every heart that whispers in the dark
There's a ray of light somewhere shining through
A mermaid drop cut dress, off shoulder, showing every stunning aspect of your form was currently heading down the aisle towards him.
The long train of your silk lace white dress had glimmering teal teardrops at the end, making it look like you were walking through the ocean, ethereal and otherworldly.
It was sink or swim when the tide came in
I found myself when I found you
Your veil had the same shimmering effect, making Adrian feel like he was Aragorn right now and you were Arwen in those Lord of the Rings dream sequences that left him and you paralysed on the couch together watching Liv Tyler in middle school.
I found the closest thing to heaven
Yes, in you, I found the deepest love I knew
Actually his brain was sort of not working right now. Were you sure you wanted to marry him? He felt so unworthy.
Ooh-ooh, oh, I believe, yes, it's true
I found myself when I found you
“God damn it, you guys are seriously going to make me bawl my eyes out to fucking Britney right now…” Chris sniffled beside Adrian when he saw how beautiful you looked. John handed him a pocket packet of tissues, already sobbing.
I believe for every door
That's closing
For every heartbreak there's hope for something new
“Are you sure?” Adrian said befuddled, when he withdrew your veil.
“Having second thoughts?” You asked anxiously.
From the ashes rise a glimpse of paradise
It still flickered in your eyes
When I found you
“No, but I feel like you should be. Have you seen you right now? Because holy fucking god damn shit you’re so perfect!” Adrian shouted, unable to contain himself.
“Adrian Allen Chase! Language!” Mrs. Chase snapped from the front row pew.
“Uncle Adrian said a bunch of swears…” Abby whispered to her mom who nodded. “Yeah he sure did.” Beck agreed.
“Would the groom like to give his vows first?” Adebayo gestured to Adrian, who nervously got out his crumpled papers, hands shaking.
“S-sure! To begin if I may, I would like to quote the eminent singer, actress and fashion designer, Jessica Simpson from her third studio album, In This Skin, the single With You released by Columbia Records in 2003.”
“You may Adrian, this is your wedding.” Adebayo reminded him.
“Right. Ahem! The real me is a southern girl with her Levis on and an open heart. Wish I could save the world, like I was super girl...” There were a few giggles from the crowd and Adrian frowned at them, readjusting his glasses with a defeated huff. “This is dumb, let’s go to your vows. I’ve messed mine up already.”
“No, please keep going Adrian. I want to hear them.” You smiled up at him, squeezing his hands encouragingly.
“All right then…” He took in a deep breath and continued.
“The real me used to laugh all night lying in the grass just talking about love. But lately I've been jaded, life got so complicated…” He peered over at line around to your friends, the 11th Street Kids, both of your found family and saw them all smiling back at him, teary eyed.
“I start thinking about it, I almost forgot what it was like. To know what it feels like, cause with you I can let my hair down and I can say anything crazy!” Adrian got more confident with all of the support around him and when he stared out front, his mother was nodding along.
It was true, Adrian could be himself with you, you understood him on a wavelength nobody else could.
“I know you'll catch me right before I hit the ground with nothing but a T-shirt on. I never felt so beautiful baby, as I do now.” He peered up at you and when you smiled, continued reading.
“Now that I'm with you, you speak and it's like a song. And just like that all my walls come down, it’s like a private joke, just meant for us to know. I relate to you naturally, everybody else just fades away.”
“Oh Adrian…” You said, wiping away a stray tear.
“Sometimes it's hard to breathe…just knowing you found…me.” Adrian finished reading the lyrics.
“Okay now I’ll read out my own words.” Everyone withdrew a sharp breath at that. Gut muttered under his breath, “Oh boy here we go...”
“When I was in middle school, I fell in love with you. It was a really hot summer, that year we had a heatwave and when you were so cute answering an equation on the blackboard...” Adrian began and everyone awed and gushed over how cute it was.
But then he took a sharp left turn, and everyone got whiplash.“That was when I got my very first erection and I knew that this was true love. Basically nothing else got me horny before you and nothing else has gotten me like that ever since...it’s basic biology and...”
Chris intervened as best man and grabbed the mic off Adrian and started prescreening his vows.
“Buddy I think you can skip those pages. Yeah and that one, do NOT say that paragraph. I thought we cut like most of this?!” Chris turned to you and the crowd sheepishly. “Sorry folks, technical difficulties...” He chuckled.
“You said for me to be myself best man!” Adrian pouted.
“Not this much!” Chris tore half the pages away and pointed at a spot. “That much is okay, read from there!” He jammed a finger into the page.
Adrian started up again, “I know that I’m weird. But I think you’re kind of weird too. I mean who would stick around with me this long and be normal?”
Harcourt scoffed from your side of the aisle, “That’s where it gets good?” Chris nodded.
“Normal is fucking boring anyway, who needs it? Sure those bullies always gave us a hard time in school and later in life, but I never cared. Because I had you by my side. Your lovely smile and dazzling eyes made everything okay.”
“Trading animal facts, talking about any of our hyperfixations into the dead of night, those are some of my fondest memories. I know that times have not always been kind to you, despite how wonderful you are there are evil fuckers out there that tried to dim your brightness…” Adrian clutched the paper tightly, knuckles whitening as he read on, eyes focused downward.
“But I hope that you knew that I was in your corner throughout all of it, even when I was too stupid to realize the extent of how bad it truly was.” His green eyes flickered from the words up to your teary smiling expression, watching you nod weeping softly.
“A-and if you’ll have me, I’d love to be by your side, through the good times and the bad. But mostly it’ll be good times from now on with me, because if anyone tries to give you bad times again I’ll fucking kill them. I love you my sweet pumpkin. Now and forever.” By the time he was finished with his vows, there wasn’t a dry eye in the entire church.
“My goodness gracious, Adrian…that was beautiful.” Adebayo said, wiping back a couple tears. “You did not have to ruin my mascara like that today boy!” Turning to you, she motioned for your vows. “Ready amazing lady?”
"T-that’s a really tough act to follow...sorry.” You began shakily, your own vows were written on your phone, but the tears made it hard to read. So instead you put the phone away in your dress, which you made sure had pockets.
“Love wasn’t something that I ever thought could be for me, it was something fake that I would watch on TV. Married couples who weren’t screaming at each other or their children were from sitcoms with television or movie magic…love was reserved for other people.” You exhaled deeply, Adrian taking your hands in his, green eyes enchantingly soft as they gazed into yours.
“But you helped me realise what actual love was, Adrian, you showed me nothing but kindness and warmth. Even when I tried to shove you away like a fool and run from what we had, you stayed by my side all those years until I was ready…”
Tears glimmered beautifully in those green eyes of his as you continued on, “Adrian you're my best friend and the love of my life. And you're my hero."
At the word hero, you saw his eyes widen and a massive smile dimpled his princely face.
"You've always been my hero, really brave like the bold jumping spider...and I-" Your vows were cut off from Adrian suddenly taking your lips into his, smooching you to the shock of the wedding crowd.
"A-Adrian!" You smacked him playfully on the arm.
"I do!" He grinned, that impish look in his green eyes making your legs quiver.
"I do too!" You laughed. "But we're not up to the part yet."
"Yeah I need to actually say the lines first Adrian. Geez you really did need the rehearsal huh?" Adebayo ribbed him and the crowd chuckled at that.
"Ugh! Can this be over already? I want to bridal carry you all the way up to our hotel room and get you outta that dress foxy lady…" He bemoaned, not even bothering to hide the hungry expression he was giving you up and down.
"Adrian your mother is sitting right there! Sorry Mrs. Chase." You turned admonished to your audience.
"It's Mom now!" Mrs. Chase insisted, waving a hand tearfully. "Oh this is so wonderful...ever since they were little I thought they were meant to be together and now here they are..." She sobbed into Gut's shoulder, who soothed her with an awkward Chase family pat on the back.
"Y'all haven't even cut the damn cake or danced to the first song yet. Simmer down and enjoy your own wedding Adrian!" Adebayo said sternly.
With a pout Adrian nodded and fell back into line, you knew that Ads was the right choice for the celebrant job!
Adebayo raised a brow when Adrian looked like he was going to protest again, "Now, with the power invested by me, from a certificate I got online last week, I now pronounce you man and wife! Let’s go sign that document!” She announced brightly.
“You may now kiss each other if that’s what you’d like to do.”
“Uhh duh Ads of course we want to kiss! Like with full tongue probably.” Adrian whined, turning to face you. “You want to right?”
“Yes Adrian, I’d like to kiss.” You laughed into getting dipped for a passionate kiss by Adrian that only stopped when Adebayo awkwardly coughed to remind that you weren’t alone.
Exchanging rings, helpfully provided by Eagly, you and Adrian's hands shook in tandem, but stilled when they they brushed against eachothers. All of the nerves left your systems when you looked down at the ring and up at one another.
"Here's to Mr and Mrs Chase everyone!" Everyone stood up and threw orange lily petals as you both walked down the aisle hand in hand. Sitting down to sign the certificate, your hand shook as it read Chase with your last name in cursive. Adrian’s hand similarly shook, grinning at you once it was all signed by the gang as witnesses.
Cutting the amazing cake they’d organised for you, a large multi-layered spiderweb decorated laced white cake, with two adorable jumping spiders in little outfits at the cake toppers. You were the bride as a red jumping spider in a little veil with a bouquet and Adrian was the groom as a bold jumping spider with a little top hat and bowtie.
Arms linked together you both cake smashed the first slice into one another's faces, getting a little bit of buttercream frosting in your hair and tip of your nose. Adrian took the brunt of it with his glasses being fully smeared and large flecks in his curls. Before you could begin to apologize, Adrian laughed so hard at it that he flung a piece of cake right at his best man. The ensuing cake fight that was brewing was broken up only by Mrs. Chase and Harcourt who still had that chainsaw on standby.
The first song began to play for you two to slow dance and to nobody’s surprise True by Ballet Spandau was your and Adrian’s pick to dance as a newlywed couple. Everyone watched in adoration at how loving the waltz was, even with your not-so-great footwork, stamping on Adrian’s feet.
“Damn it, I’m terrible at this even after we took all those lessons...” You grumbled and Adrian laughed, drawing you closer to twirl you around effortlessly.
“I think it’s endearing, and really cute...” He replied, his mischievous expression relaying that he also found it a few other things as well.
Next up was Killin it by Foxy Shazam and Hella Good by No Doubt that everyone got onto the dancefloor for and tore it up into the night. After what felt like buckets of champagne and speeches that led further and further away from being comprehensible by your drunk friends, finally the moment arrived when you and Adrian got to go off in the amazing gift of a 1977 teal Chevy Malibu, roof down of course to toss the bouquet on the way out.
“Who caught it?” Adrian asked from the driver’s seat, opting to be the designated driver at his own wedding. Because he was Adrian Allen Chase.
“Um…” You hesitated to say and Adrian checked in the rearview mirror for himself. “MOM?!” He yelled, watching Langston kiss her on the cheek.
“I think they’re a cute couple.” You laughed as Adrian completely short circuited and let the matter drop entirely on the way to the hotel.
“We’re finally alone! Husband…feels surreal to say that.” Giggling as Adrian pulled up to the valet parking and opened the door for you.
Adrian similarly blushed, “Yeah we are! Wife…” The sexual tension was palpable the whole drive.
Evergreen Lush Resort & Hotel was the finest five-star hotel in town and the two of you were ridiculously giddy getting the keys to your suite.
The elevator doors closed, card swiped to your hotel penthouse room and as the number began to go up in the lights, Adrian couldn't wait to have you.
Why the hell did he splurge for the top penthouse floor?! Now he was pent, bricked up like a damn house.
"Fuck I need to get that dress off of you right fucking now." His hands went to unlace the corset, but you lifted up the train and revealed the white lacy pantyhose with garter belt you were wearing.
"That'll take way too long, just unclip the garter." You explained with a needy huff and Adrian moaned, unclipping it and watching the thin white lace keeping him from being inside you fall away.
"Oh my foxy lady..." Adrian unzipped his fly and let his suit pants hit the floor. "Bend over for me, Wifey." He instructed you.
"Rail me Hubby." You ordered him back, hands already gripping the railing of the elevator.
"Your wish is my command. Happy wife, happy life right?" He laughed like a maniac, hands settling onto your hips.
"Damn straight." You grinned.
Adrian obliged, pushing inside you, holding your hips firm as he drilled you onto his cock. “You’re so fucking beautiful my blushing bride, more than I even dreamed, thought you were going to be. I mean you’re always gorgeous but wow, holy shit I love this dress…” Your face flushed bright red at his words.
“So perfect, makes me wanna tear it off you…” Adrian squeezed your ass, pulling back to spank it, making you cry out. “Am I being too uh rough?” He panted.
“Not rough enough.” You shook your head back. Adrian flashed you a mischievous grin, groping any inch of your skin that he could underneath your dress. Taking full control of the pace, he rammed into you roughly, eyes locked with yours in the reflection of the elevator.
“Adrian!” You mewled out. The intense pressure of how he was deeply fucking you while slapping you ass was nearly too much, relentless, making you clench around him.
“You’re doing so good…so fucking good for me…” Adrian cooed, bringing his fingers down to touch your clit.
The addition made your eyes roll to the back of your head, overwhelming and incredible. “Oh god I’m coming Adrian!” Your legs spasmed into your release, finishing all over his cock.
Adrian shuddered at the sensation, slowing down for a moment, he pulled out with a sharp whine. Turning you around, he pulled you in for a cuddle.
“Fuck you’re such a good girl for me,” he whispered into your ear, “But I’m not finished with you yet…” His green eyes poured over yours for a yes to continue. "Was it too much?" he asked politely when you were still trying to catch your breath.
“Keep going…” You whispered back, eyeing the lights in the lift were nearing the top.
Expecting him to enter you again, you let out a surprised gasp when instead Adrian sank to his knees and pressed his face up against your pussy, licking along the slit.
He hoisted your shaking thighs up onto his shoulders, sucking passionately at your clit, glasses and nose bumping as he ate you out. You at first gripped the lift railing for support, but Adrian grunted at that, urging you to hold onto his hair instead.
You clung on for dear life, as he pushed himself deeper, working his fingers inside you in tandem with how you tightly pulled at his curls, making him groan. You could feel yourself getting close again, practically howling his name through your orgasm, Adrian kept eating you out through your release, not stopping until you tapped him on the shoulder. “Adrian…my god, that was!”
“Just performing my husbandly duties…” When he stared up at you, his smirking lips were swollen and face glazed over, covered in your wetness. You bent down and kissed him deeply, tasting yourself and he stood up, wrapping his hands around your waist.
His cock pressed up against your stomach, and you began stroking it firmly with one hand. "Let me perform my wifely duties now..." With the other hand, you gently raked your nails through his hair. “Oh my radiant babydoll…want to finish i-inside…” He grunted, biting down on his lip, clearly enjoying what you were currently doing to him, but a hundred other positions running through his head.
“We have all night my love and we are nearly at our room.” You reminded him, gesturing to the lift light. Stroking him faster, Adrian moaned louder, panting uneven as you could tell he was getting close and building towards his release. His cock twitched in your hand as you pumped him, and Adrian nestled his head into the cleavage spilling out of your dress.
"I'm close," He told you breathlessly. "I'm so...so...ohh please fuck fuuuck!"
With a loud ding, the doors opened and a shocked old couple were standing there in total disbelief at the scene unfolded in front of them.
"GET THE NEXT ONE!" Adrian yelled at them, spamming the close door button with a clenched fist.
“Aw young love how sweet!” The old woman smiled fondly at her aghast husband.
When the doors closed, you started going again but Adrian quickly grabbed your wrist to stop. “I want to finish inside you.” He said, more firmly this time. The elevator doors dinged once more on queue opening to your suite.
“O-okay.” You replied, cheeks burning bright red. Adrian swept you up into a bridal carry all the way to your large heart-shaped white silk bed with teal pillows. Kicking off his pants already down at his ankles, Adrian stalked over you on the bed like a wild animal. Ready to completely fall apart, his hands were trembling and gripping the sheets, heart racing so fast you could see it throbbing in his throat when he swallowed.
“W-we’re really married…” You sigh dreamily, half laughing as you’re pushed gently back onto the mattress by Adrian, who nodded shakily.
“Y-yeah we are…” He agreed, voice catching a little. Suddenly he was frozen, looking like he didn't know what to do with himself, green eyes locked with yours, tears brimming his wireframed glasses.
“Kiss me, Adrian.” You whisper softly, caressing his jaw with a hand.
Adrian answered that by kissing you raggedly anywhere and everywhere he could possibly reach, hands fumbling with your dress, tearing at the corset strings, zippers and buttons, wanting nothing more than to feel and taste your bare skin underneath. Similarly you struggled with his tux, tearing off the jacket and shrugging his dress shirt away.
Whenever you felt the cold metal of his wedding band brush up against you, a fire lit white hot in your core, sparking a jolt of pleasure down your thighs. And when Adrian felt your ring grazing his hair, the side of his face and shoulders, he groaned, wild and desperate to cling onto you, lips dragging along your skin, teeth marking your collarbones, inner thighs, anywhere he could get away with it.
You threaded a hand in his hair to guide him back up to your lips, cupping his cheek for a long tender kiss. “Adrian, if this is a dream…don’t wake me up.”
“Hm…this can’t be a dream, because my mind can’t begin to fathom how fucking gorgeous you are right now.” Adrian shook his head into the crook of your shoulder, dampening it with swear and tears. You were unbearably lovely, insanely beautiful. His heart was fluttering, nerves flooding red hot.
Shouting your name between sloppy kisses at your neck, you could feel his swollen cock dragging up your thigh. He tried to go slow, but when you shimmied out of the corset and your breasts tumbled out into his palms, he was undone. Climbing on top of you, he loved everything about you and drank it all up. The soft belly, strong thighs, curve of your breasts, and suddenly Adrian was moaning and thrusting away helplessly, like it was his first time again. He now knew what exactly Madonna meant by her song Like a Virgin.
“You’re better than all of my dreams,” Adrian grunted away into your ear. “Fuck yes, this is…you feel better than a dream, you’remy dream, always been my dream…holy fuck, oh God…”
But this first time wasn’t with some random woman he never learned the name of in an awkward Peacemaker three-some, this was his first time making love to his wife.
This was you.
You were his and he was yours. Now and forever.
The sudden realisation hit Adrian like a ton of bricks, and he melted into an orgasm ten seconds flat. “Oh, my God, oh my God, oh my…oh my fucking God…I can’t..!”
Beneath him, you’re softly laughing, but it’s kind and loving, peppered with kisses. Lifting his head eventually, Adrian’s cheeks are bright red with a sense of shame. But before he could attempt to apologize, you were already pushing him down, on top this time, sending him flushed and breathless, and somehow hardening all over again.
“You’re okay my pretty prince, we’ve got all night remember…” You cooed, hands sliding greedily down his pecks and shoulders, rocking up and down, kissing him. Adrian craned his neck up to please you, eagerly sucking your breasts, kissing them, stroking where he knew you loved it.
Confidence crept back when he felt your nipples perk under the flat of his tongue, heard the moans as he thrusted up hard and deep into your core, hit your cervix until you cried out his name again and again. Soft little cries that rippled shivers across your body, sweat patching your forehead, crescent moon finger prints reddening on your hip bones as Adrian gripped tight.
“Oh fuck Adrian!” You managed to bite out. When your back arched, desperately grinding down on him into a spellbinding orgasm, Adrian grabbed you by the waist, hoisting you up to throw you down into the pillows in order to start it all over again.
“I think I’m going fucking crazy…crazier…out of my mind right now…” Adrian babbled away, hands at your knees keeping them spread open, the path for him to re-enter you slick, everything wet at this stage as he glided himself back in.
“All I ever want to do is fuck you like this…I love you…” It’s impossible, near unreasonable how much he’s filling you up right now, hips aligned with yours, heavy cock pulsing, your core tightening with every word, thrust, touch, kiss.
Adrian pulled you in closer, calling out your name in a whiny beg, his glasses are knocked clean off his face with an elbow when he hauls you up into his lap. But he couldn't care less. “I love you…I love you!” You repeat after him into his shoulder.
“Fuck yes...I love you too! You’re mine, my wife, my everything! Fuck…” Like a lunatic, he grinds blind into you with no rhythm or teasing, splitting you on his cock, and you ride him back just as crazed, sending you both over the edge.
Love was the only thing between you two right now, filling your veins, hearts, minds and souls, together in with a bright stinging kiss as you and Adrian fall apart into a collapsed overstimulated heap.
Eventually after catching his breath, he turned to you, “I’m totally up for another round in like…” Adrian checked his watch he neglected to take off, “fifteen minutes or so, ten if you crank the shaft.” You barked a string of melodic laughter at that, and he joined in, smiling into a kiss.
“Hmm, I’d better get cranking then…” You giggled, pecking the tip of his nose, you found his glasses for him amongst the mess and hand them back. Then ever true to your word, you start jerking him off with both hands.
“Oh holy fuck, I love you…my wife.” Adrian cackles, readjusting his glasses with a wicked grin. He’s already starting to fill your palms, thick and somewhat hard again.
“I love you too, my husband…and I told you we have all night!” You said against his jaw, kissing down gently before sucking a hickey at his throat.
“Heck yes we do!” He pumps the air with a fist, grinning before launching back to drag you in for another round.
It’s into the early hours of the morning when you’re basically fucking on instinct. “I love you so much, thank you, thank you for letting me do this, oh fuck…you're mine...” Adrian can’t stop talking, voice raspy from calling out into the night.
By this point you’d been filled so much that you were flushed bright hot both outside and in, hauling him up by the curls for another kiss, tongue searching desperately for his. With that, his cock found your inner thighs again and slipped between them, grinding sloppily, slick from the previous evenings activities.
“I’m getting kinda tired…” Adrian admitted, but doesn’t relent his hips, hiding a yawn behind a hand.
“Me too…” you don’t bother to hide your own yawn.
“Can’t believe still…that we’re married. It doesn't feel real...” Adrian whined. “I don’t want our wedding night to be over already.” He confessed, wrapping his arms tightly around your waist, rutting aimlessly into the meat of your thighs.
“I know baby, but it’s 2:45 am though so that ship has sailed…and soon our literal ship will sail for our honeymoon!” You confirmed, checking the bedside clock and kissed him on the forehead.
“P-please…” Adrian begged, tip teasing at your folds. “One more time…need to be inside when I finish…”
“Mmm last time, then we sleep…or I fall asleep and you can keep going. That actually sounds pretty hot.” You replied drowsily.
“That does sound super fucking hot…” Adrian replied just as drowsy.
When you woke up around midday, you were pretty certain that Adrian had fallen asleep halfway through, not long after you’d fallen asleep, still buried inside you. Cuddling him back, he murmured something under the covers and wrapped his arms tighter around your waist.
“Mrs. Chase…has a nice ring to it.” You mused, holding your hand up to admire the gold ring. It shined in the croft of sunlight coming through the suite blinds.
Unlike the last ring you wore that felt like an anchor weighing you down, this was a beacon of everlasting commitment and support, full circle with the one you truly loved.
“Yeah, Mr. and Mrs. Chase…sounds perfect.” Adrian agreed with a bright grin and intertwined his hand with yours.
How about a short story where Adrian teaches us to play Dungeons & Dragons, even though we don't really get it? 💙
(I think he’d be incredibly patient with us, because if we learned, we’d play with him more often.) 🧜♂️
Congratulations again!! 🎉🫰
@danversxwasabi, as always, i love your brain.
(full disclosure, i've never played D&D - despite the energy i've been told multiple times I give off 😂 literally a week ago at work a student worker of mine told me that they were surprised I've never played because I have, and I quote, "the energy of someone who should be on Dropout" lmfaoooo)
get the balance right

notes: as mentioned above, I've never played D&D in my life - my understanding, like reader, is extraordinarily basic, so I apologize if I royally fucked anything up here. I read a whole ass powerpoint to try and get a little more understanding before diving into this, but my frame of reference is entirely this amazing video, listening to friends who play talk, and clips of Dimension 20. also, title is from the song "get the balance right" by depeche mode.
“And I have to do math?”
Adrian’s eyes drifted up towards the ceiling, his brow scrunching.
“...sort of.”
Your head landed against the table with a soft thud.
“Ade, I’m never going to get any of this!” you exclaimed, though the punch of your desperation was somewhat swallowed by the table.
“No, I promise you can get this,” Adrian insisted again. You were pretty sure you had a D20 digging into your cheekbone. “Talk me through everything you remember.”
Propping your chin on your arms you sighed. “There’s a DM.”
“Yes.”
“And there’s dice.”
“Also true.”
“And some of the dice is weird.”
“Subjective, but sure.”
“Everyone at the table is role playing inside the confines of the world the DM built…and…there are…classes that the characters are from…and we just…sort of make it up as we go along?”
You rubbed at the space between your brows as if that would draw the information to the front of your brain. Adrian’s eyes lit up slightly and he leaned forward in his seat, chin dipping in an emphatic nod. There was a slight shudder to his breathing pattern and it reminded you of the way he would get when you two were –
“Yes, babe, that’s so good! See! You totally know what’s going on!”
“I feel like I’ve barely said anything?” you countered, frowning at your boyfriend.
“How many classes are there?” Adrian asked, hands braced on his knees, leaning further forward on his mother’s couch. You became vaguely aware of the fact that your legs were asleep beneath the coffee table. How long had you two been at this?
“Um…fuck.”
He smiled gently at you. “That’s okay, that was a tough one.”
“6?” you guessed weakly.
Adrian winced slightly, but kept up his remarkably good spirits. He was so excited about the game that you suspected it would take a lot to knock him down. “13.”
“So where do the dice come in?” you asked for what you were almost certain was the fifth time.
“Rolling dice is how you check to see if you’re able to perform a certain skill. Maybe I’m playing a rogue, for example, and I want to use my totally sick persuasion skills to seduce someone for information and…” Adrian started to explain before his gaze shifted slightly and he scoffed and your Adrian-tangent senses fiercely tingled. “For the record, I know a lot of people think that bards are the seductive ones, but personally I think bards are a little overblown. Rogues can be cool too. Rogues can be seductive too.”
You nodded slowly. You definitely remembered that bards and rogues were two separate things. “Totally…anyway, you wanna use some persuasion skills on me? We could totally bail on this whole thing right now, Mr. Rogue.”
“First of all, my rogue’s name is Lante and second of all, that’s very hot of you, but I’m going to need you to focus.”
You swallowed hard. “Damn, you really are serious about this.”
“I’m deeply serious about this,” he intoned, leaning still closer to you over the table. His knee knocked the coffee table and his minifigures went utterly akimbo and still he only looked at you, eyes gleaming. He was very very serious about this. Why was it kinda…hot? “Besides, think about how much extra time we’ll get to spend together now that we have a campaign going!”
“We already work together and basically live together, Ade,” you countered. In fact, you were only at his mom’s place because she was out of town for the weekend. She had more space and Adrian’s life-long collection of all things D&D was already stored in the mid-century split-level. She’d actually seemed a little bummed to not be around for the game – something about reviving a 40th level cutpurse named Vera Nightshade?
Adrian’s face fell slightly. “If you really don’t want to play…”
You grasped his hand over the detailed map spread across the table and pressed your fingers firmly into his skin. “I want to play. I just don’t want to let you down.”
A smile tugged at his lips and then he pulled his hand away to pick up the toppled figures. “You could never let me down.” He paused, his head tilting. “Unless you die at this first session.”
“I will do my best,” you said, lacking a certain confidence in your tone. Still, you raised your hand to your temple and saluted. “Any chance we can watch the video of Deborah Ann Woll explaining D&D to Jon Bernthal again?”
It was another bold-faced distraction attempt – you were pretty sure Adrian had gotten a little hard the first time you two watched that video together and not even because of the two objectively attractive people in it. The doorbell rang and a shiver of fear ran down your spine. Adrian’s D&D friends were going to be able to smell your imposter nature from a mile away. They’d take one look at you and deem you utterly unworthy of the campaign.
“No time! Everyone’s here!” Adrian cheered, clapping his hands together. He turned to get the door but pivoted back to you and pressed a kiss into your hair. “You got this, my little cleric.”
Just as Adrian went to the door, your brain finally caught up. “Wait a second…Lante is literally just the second half of Vigilante!”
As it turned out, Adrian’s “D&D friends” were just also…your friends. From work. The original 11th Street Kids and tagalong you. Somehow, he’d conned each and every one of you separately, some kind of scheme that involved telling each of you he needed one more person to fill in at his table. Everyone else had been bribed in some way except for you, which, frankly, was kind of rude. You’d be taking that up with your boyfriend later, but for now he was in Dungeon Master mode.
“Real clever, coming from a guy who named his character Christos Ironwrangler!” Economos yelled across the table at Chris. He’d been annoyed since the moment he arrived and found out no one else had taken Adrian’s character backstory assignment seriously. 12 pages, still hot off the printer, sat discarded on the kitchen counter about his wizard.
“Whatever, you’re just jealous of my sick-ass paladin, dude,” Chris argued back, hands braced against the table. You’d been a little surprised he hadn’t gone straight for the obvious barbarian.
“I cannot stress enough again that we’re on the same team here,” Leota attempted, raising her voice over both of them. Harcourt took another swig of her beer and rolled the tiny figure meant to represent her fighter in between her fingers.
“Classic bard,” you chuckled to nobody but Adrian who was beaming from ear to ear. He waited until the chaos of the table had settled slightly and then leaned forward, wide green eyes taking in each member of the party in turn slowly. There was a delicious thrum of energy around the table. Suddenly, you were pretty sure you understood the appeal. Adrian pursed his lips, wrangling down a grin, and then began:
“Your ragtag group of adventurers hits the open road, taking only what you can carry on your backs. After walking for some time, you come to a fork in the road, with no signage indicating where each path leads. The only thing around is a seemingly innocuous eagle perched on a branch overhead. What do you do?”
This dumbass would absolutely slide over the hood of the Vigilante-mobile cool guy style in an attempt to impress you.
This is the face he makes when he absolutely does not stick the landing, but still clambers up onto his feet to act like he definitely didn't just completely embarrass himself in front of you:
And this is the face he makes when you walk away laughing, leaving him with a crushed ego and a bruised tailbone from where he fell flat on his ass:
.“Any chance we can watch the video of Deborah Ann Woll explaining D&D to Jon Bernthal again?” that's such a bad idea the only thing i could focus on in that video was how beautiful Deborah was🫠🥰
hahahahaha no literally. I firmly believe reader was watching the first time like, “wow, they’re both beautiful” and Adrian was watching like “wow, the power of D&D is making me horny”
She’s still in her first year at Checkmate and getting partnered with Adrian on a mission seems like a trap - especially since she’s fighting her crush on him and now they have to play newlyweds with virtually no support from the others. What will they do as nothing seems to ever go right on this mission?
Masterlist, Ch 1

Bonus Epilogue
The first day back in the office after a mission was normally nothing out of the ordinary.
First day back in the office after a fake mission where all your coworkers know you and your other coworker finally fucked felt like a horror film. Just the idea alone was freaking her out.
“Can I please drive you to work?” Adrian begged as she sighed, glancing down at her phone. She had barely been separated from him for twelve hours before he had FaceTimed her and being the sucker she was, she had to answer.
“Adrian, it’s going to be awkward enough as it is, I really don’t want to give them any more ammo,” she said and he pouted.
“It’s not ammo, they know we like each other,” he said. “They knew before we knew.”
“Yeah, and they also sent us on a fake mission because they wanted us to start dating,” she replied and Adrian let out an almost dreamy sounding sigh.
“Yeah, that was really nice of them,” he said and she rolled her eyes. Of course he was missing the point as he continued talking. “I’m just saying, they got what they wanted! They’re going to celebrate us, I just know it! And we both got an amazing beach vacation in the process!”
“Adrian,” she said, gently, picking up her phone to get a better look at him, his smile grew now that she was fully in frame.
“I just want to be around you, I feel like I’m going through separation anxiety or something,” he whined. “I just want to drive you to work, please? You can even go inside first, I’ll wait ten minutes before coming in.”
“Listen, just for today can we please play it normal? Like nothing has changed?”
“But everything has changed,” he said simply, and she fought the urge to melt and give in.
“Adrian, tomorrow, okay? We can go in together tomorrow. Plus aren’t you going out with Chris tonight to patrol? If you drive me, what am I supposed to do at the end of the day? Sit in the office till two in the morning?” she said, laughing gently as Adrian pouted.
“No! I would obviously drive you home or you could come with me and Chris and hang out! I wouldn’t just leave you hanging and in fact I’m a little insulted-”
“Okay, okay,” she said with a laugh. “What if we go out for lunch today? I’ll let you drive me then, alright?” she suggested and she watched him chew the inside of his cheek as he shook his head as if he was rattling the idea around in his head.
“Before I agree, can I ask a question?” he asked, tilting his head and she nodded. “Is it fucked up that I want to take you to Fennel Fields and show you off?” he asked, eyebrows furrowed as if he was seriously pondering the idea of going to what had to be one of the worst options for a quick lunch. However, she couldn’t help the small amount of excitement that raced through her at the idea of Adrian wanting to show her off and brag about her.
God, he was such a loverboy and she couldn’t get enough of him.
“Not fucked up, but a little much for like day five of actually dating,” she responded, and he nodded.
“So does that mean eventually?” he asked, raising his eyebrows, waggling them slightly when she started giggling.
“Yes, eventually."
“Okay, so we’ll drive separately, but we’ll get lunch together?” he asked, still sounding slightly bummed that she didn’t want him to drive her, but still she couldn’t help but grin at Adrian’s eagerness.
“Sounds like a great plan to me, Ade.” she said.
“And we’ll talk at work?” he asked, and she chuckled at his inquisitive expression.
“I mean, if we have something to talk about. We’re still going to be at work,” she said. “Listen, I have to finish getting ready, I’ll see you soon, okay?”
“Okay,” he said with a dreamy sigh. “Wait! After patrol could I come over? We don’t even have to do anything, we can just hang out and watch something?”
“What time do you think you’ll be done?” she asked, raising an eyebrow as Adrian disappeared from the camera and coming back.
“One in the morning?” Adrian said with a wince, clearly knowing that was too late.
“Text me and if I’m still up, sure.” she said gently, and Adrian smiled, clearly happy with just the chance to see her more.
“Okay, I’m going to finish getting ready, but I’ll see in an hour, okay?” she said, and he frowned.
“Maybe we both should come in early? That way we can just really get settled, ya know?” he tried, and she laughed.
“I will see you in an hour, Ade,” she said, feeling slightly bad as she hung up the FaceTime call before Adrian could drag out their goodbye.
It was sweet, if a lot, for a new relationship, but Adrian was anything but casual, as she had learned quickly after getting to know him. Even knowing that, she had been thoroughly charmed by the 30 something busboy slash vigilante and now found herself falling for him even harder. She was sure there would be a learning curve for each of them as they grew closer, for knowing each other and how to have a more serious, romantic relationship.
She walked into work, taking a deep breath as she opened the door to Checkmate. She was shocked when she walked in and no one reacted except for Adrian. He instantly perked up at his desk, smiling at her and giving her a wave. She gave him a small one back as she moved to her desk next to Economos.
“How was your trip?” he asked, not looking up from his screen as she unpacked her work stuff.
“It was fine,” she said, trying to keep herself as neutral as possible.
“I wish I had a paid vacation to a spa,” he mumbled and she laughed.
“Maybe one day, Economos,” she said, he chuckled and mumbled a ‘yeah right’ under his breath. Other than that, he didn’t mention anything else about the trip and nothing about Adrian who was currently staring at them intently.
She could feel his eyes on her almost all day. Every move she made, when she paused to stretch at her desk she heard him let out a little gasp, as if he was worried she was in pain. When she got up to get something from the printer, he had also gotten up, walking next to her. When she glared at him he held his hands up and quickly grabbed some paperclips, acting like that was his plan all along.
The rest of the office was painfully quiet, no one commenting on the trip or her and Adrian at all. There was no more teasing, but there was something else brewing between everyone as they avoided her and Adrian’s eyes.
It was finally Chris that snapped after Adrian had jumped up when she got up to go to the bathroom.
“Jesus Christ!” Chris practically yelled, everyone’s head snapped towards him as he leaned back in his chair shaking his head. “We all know that you guys are dating! This is worse than before, stop doing all this pretend bullshit. It’s like watching two serial killers try to pretend to be normal!”
“What?” She cried, eyes flying to Adrian’s as he shrugged.
“This weirdness, suddenly you guys are acting like you don’t like each other! You guys fucked, big whoop! Like half of us in this room have fucked each other-”
“That cannot be true,” John said.
“Maybe not for you, Economos. I’m just saying you guys don’t have to pretend you’re not dating! I mean I know Adrian’s like a borderline serial killer-”
“Hey! I only kill criminals!” Adrian defended, unsurprisingly missing Chris’s point.
“But I-” she started.
“Listen, are you guys finally dating?” Chris asked point blank, eyes locked on her.
“Yes,” she said in a small voice, fighting a small smile on her face as everyone’s eyes snapped to her.
“Holy shit,” Rip said, through a mouthful of flaming hot Cheetos.
“Goddamnit, you guys couldn’t have waited another six months?” Bordeaux complained, pulling a twenty out of her wallet before handing it over to Harcourt who had a rare proud smile.
“You guys…all knew?” she said, voice sounding small as Adrian stumbled and moved towards her and her desk, a slight panic on his face. He was clearly more worried about her than anything else.
A mix of yeses and nos rang out around the office, a slight pause before everyone just repeated yes. She put her face in her hands as she laughed, one of Adrian’s hands coming to rest on her shoulder, she peeked through her fingers and looked at him; a bright smile on his face.
“See, I knew they’d be happy for us,” he said brightly, and she full-bodied laughed before throwing herself at Adrian, not caring that the others were watching as he wrapped her up in his arms and swayed them slightly. “We will now be taking questions,” Adrian said proudly.
“No, we’re not,” she said, head snapping to look at him as he looked out around the office.
“How long did it take you guys to confess?” Fleury asked, looking as if he was genuinely pondering it.
“How was he in bed?” Rip asked, his face a confusing mash of disgust and intrigue.
“What was the final straw?” Harcourt asked.
“Enough!” Ads finally cut in. “Our friends are dating and that’s exciting and obviously we are all very happy for them, but we are not going to ask them these questions especially as an audience.”
“Thank you, Ads.” she said gently, and Adrian pouted slightly, but he recovered quickly as he looked down at her.
“I can’t wait to go on another mission with you again, hopefully next time we can take full advantage,” he said waggling his eyebrows as heat crawled up her face, she slapped his chest playfully as Economos groaned.
“God, they’re going to be like this everyday, aren’t they?” he asked.
“Yes,” everyone answered, including her and Adrian. He squeezed her slightly and looked down at her.
“We can never send them anywhere again, you all do realize that right?” Economos said and she laughed.
“Still worth it,” he said, kissing her cheek before finally releasing her.
“Yeah, worth it,” she repeated softly as she watched him make his way back to his desk, giving Chris a high five before sitting back down.
I think i saw this somewhere but adrian chase getting a nosebleed while fucking you. Maybe, idk
adrian who promised he was completely fine after arriving so late and nearly beat to a fucking pulp, blood all over his suit, hair damp from exertion, adrian who insisted on fucking because he still had so much adrenaline pumping through his veins and nowhere to put it unless he planned on killing you too (he's funny), adrian who mid-fuck is groaning at the soreness of his entire body, him powering through just because he can, because the pain makes it all the more intense and so good for him, scrunching his face from the effort until a dribble of blood starts leaking from his nose and falling towards his open mouth, the blood tinting his teeth when you worry for him out loud and all he does is argue "fuuck, damn it! s'just a little blood, shut up and let me do this babe, c'mon please-"
