You can't hear it over the chanting, but the reason I teared up was because the people #Trapped in the #DetentionCenter were knocking on the glass. They might have tried to yell or wave, but the only thing that they could do was knock on the glass. WE HAVE REDUCED PEOPLE TO THE POINT WHERE ALL THEY CAN SAY FOR THEMSELVES IS A ✊✊✊ON GLASS. THINK ABOUT THAT. In the #LandOfTheFree and the #HomeOfTheBrave and the #FirstAmendment, there are people who are voiceless and powerless and it happens everyday! It doesn't have to be my family for me to be outraged. Any human with a compassionate heart SHOULD BE OUTRAGED. (at Los Angeles, California)

The #FamiliesBelongTogether rally took us from #GrandPark in #DTLA to the #FederalDetentionCenter in #LittleTokyo... We walked right past the #JapaneseInternement #Museum where #ExecutiveOrder9066 was blown up and pasted on the window. It hurts to think that we have #ForgottenOurHistory and have allowed it to repeat. Not just the racism and violations of human rights. That fight will never end, really. I'm talking about those of us who stayed home today because they aren't being affected by this... #YET. When they came for the #Japanese, they took the #Immigrants and their #AmericanCitizen children too. They didn't stop to ask details. They just detained them all and if you think that would Never happen here, I hate to tell you... IT ALREADY HAS. (at Los Angeles, California)

I've marched for #StudentRights in #Sacramento before but the #vibe, the #camaraderie, the #brotherhood I felt among this crowd! Yes, we were fighting and yelling and screaming. Yes, it was the pain and suffering of our people who brought us together. But look at what came out of that! We #marchforimmigrants and come to find that not all #HOPE is lost. Today, I marched for kids. If you know me at all, you know how much I love kids. It breaks my heart to see them separated from their families. The second i came home today, i collapsed on Beary! Finals absolutely drained me this week. I handled it, but I'm so glad to have this horrible semester come to an end. My #FirstYear at #CalStateLA has come to an end and I feel... a lot of things... I accomplished a lot of what I set out to do: earned pretty good grades, got a job as a #Tutor at the #universitywritingcenter, and even earned a spot to study abroad in the UK! Still, I have to recognize there was no easy path to where I am now. There were moments I lost my way and I went all #DarkAndTwisty and if you helped me through it, please know that I'm grateful for it. This summer, I plan on working and saving money for England while also making time for self-care and what that means for me. Yesterday was a very important day for me! I attended the Bon Voyage celebration at Cal State LA and meet all the other people going to the UK soon. I even meet someone who is going back to the UK after being here for a year. Turns out he's been living down the street from me the whole time! 😂😂😭 Then we went to DTLA, hit up some bars, and now I feel so ready to go and live it up in England. It just finally hit me that this is real and I am going and even though it's not how I pictured it, ENGLAND IS GOING TO BE AMAZING!! I want to thank everyone for all your support!
