I started this as a throwaway idea but then it got out of hand. There isn't nearly enough fan art of these two so why not. Defiance remastered gave me a new perspective and more context on who she might be so more art of potentially more simpler times.

If you haven't lived around a specific type of Mexican or Italian or other generationally Catholic community I have no idea how to explain to people who haven't seen it like... Sorta went with a mix of elliptical corvid wing shapes with a bit of eagle/stork in there. Acrobatic bursts of speed more than soaring, to my mind.

Some time in the distant past of Nosgoth, human communities existed as many disparate tribes surviving in the wilds where they could, rising and falling through the years in numerous alliances and petty conflicts. Wars over territory, resources, and belief systems wiped out cultures in swift, brutal efficiency, leaving nothing behind but blood and forgotten ruins.

The people of Eri’s tribe were some such victims of one of these conflicts, in one terrible night reduced to a few acres of charred huts and mutilated remains in the northern forest, ambushed by their righteous neighbors over a disagreement in worshipped “spirits”. When the ancient vampires found her, Eri was barely out of infancy, having somehow crouched into the hollow of a decaying tree to hide from the violence she didn’t comprehend. To some of the vampires, her sole survivorship was providence. To others, it was an omen. To Janos Audron, it may have been a mixture of both, or neither. She was an innocent, in any case. They could determine her fate later.

Sharing some OC background on my girl Eri. She’s raised by Janos to adulthood and eventually turned to vampirism out of a dire necessity. Lots of stuff to touch on but I don’t want to blab all at once.
