Karasuno Volleyball Club Maid Café Fundraiser!! (the bus needs repairs) (hcs under the cut)
Hinata has a great time, he’s friendly and enthusiastic and a pretty good server when he remembers to use his inside voice! His skirt is swishy !!!
Kageyama is not good with the customers. He quickly gets put in the back making food but then he is pretty bad at that also so now he is on dishes. He is moderately self conscious not really because of masculinity but just because of being Looked at in a setting where he's not in his element.
Tsukishima hates the whole thing because it is cringe. HE suggested a café fundraiser and then got yes-anded too hard and now Nishinoya keeps loudly proclaiming the maid café was his idea which it WASN’T!!! He also hates being looked at. He refuses to be on the floor but thankfully he’s pretty good at coffee art and plating desserts.
Yamaguchi dropped a bunch of plates but OTHER than that he is doing a good job. His klutzy charms are working in his favour and he’s chatty with the customers once he gets over his nerves.
Hinata thinks Kageyama looks cute but he doesn’t really understand that that’s what he’s feeling so mostly he’s been making fun of him a lot and making him even more self conscious.
Tsukishima is trying reeeaally hard not to have a Thing about maid dress Tadashi because he’s aware that it’s lame. But he is failing. Yamaguchi for his part has such an enormous Thing about maid dress Tsukki that he’s speedrun to the Acceptance stage and is managing to be surprisingly functional.
Several first year girls came around in hopes of seeing Canonically Hot Tsukishima and Kageyama in cute outfits and were disappointed by them hiding in the kitchen. But at least a couple get won over by Shoyo - there’s a lot to be said for an enthusiastic guy who’s confident enough to wear a cute dress and not give a crap!
Tanaka is one of the most self-conscious because he cares too much about looking cool and manly. He was all for it when the idea was suggested and then suddenly felt awkward once he was wearing the dress. Then Ennoshita yelled at him for standing around awkwardly and threatened him with a tea-tray and now he's got other more sexuality-crisis shaped things to be worrying about.
Speaking of Ennoshita, he is the only reason this place is a halfway functional cafe. He was a bit embarrassed when he first put the outfit on but then he saw what a disaster the team were and rolled up his sleeves to Sort Shit Out and has now essentially forgotten that he's wearing anything unusual. He's running the place like the navy and everyone is terrified and if they weren't bisexual before they're at least giving it a good hard think now.
Nishinoya is the fastest server known to man and confident enough enough to rock any outfit, just one look at him and you'd never dare suggest he doesn't look cool. The speed is sometimes very dangerous and sometimes very helpful! Really just depends on what's around him at the time.
Kinoshita and Narita are normal levels of good-naturedly embarrassed but are mostly spending their time making fun of Tanaka and sneaking snacks behind Ennoshita's back. Kinoshita is actually considering whether he'd like wearing a skirt outside of this context.
Daichi is goofing off an unprecedented amount to tease Asahi and joke around with his classmates who have come to support the cafe. He is also pretty bad at remembering orders, it turns out, and gets into arguments with his friends when he delivers them their food. Eventually Ennoshita relegated him to dishes in a reversal of authority which will go down in Karasuno legend.
Asahi's egg is cracking and she keeps bumping into things due to being huge and getting very flustered and then becoming even more clumsy. The team wanted her at the door being visible and gorgeous to encourage people inside but she almost passed out from anxiety so now she's allowed to stay in the back doing pretty plating to calm down.
Suga is perfect in every way. An excellent, charming, beautiful front of house greeter and also surprisingly good at upselling. He is however also evil and deploys either charm or ruthless teasing at opportune moments to get a rise out of his teammates.
