I read the Jasad heir last year. And again this year. I'm halfway through the Jasad crown. And let me tell you. Sara Hashem is doing enemies to lovers RIGHT. I made a post months ago about how Rachel Gillig does a good job of showing and not telling and Sara Hashem takes the spot next to Rachel Gillig for that skill. Most of the time these days; it's enemies to insta love (lust more often than not) and Sara Hashem is making filling my heart with the yearning and tiny observations that Slyvia (Essiya) and Arin make about each other.

Every time I rewatch The Lord of the Rings I oscillate violently between “it’s important to show men having close, supportive friendships and I’m so glad Peter Jackson chose to show all the male characters being loving and physically affectionate with one another in a healthy, platonic way” and “damn, these bitches gay. good for them, good for them”

thinking about batcat again and I'm really chuffed about what Reeves accomplished with them - tbh I think he intended to 'set the record straight' about Batman and his mythos in many respects but it particularly stood out to me with how carefully he crafted the dynamic between them.

the instant familiarity and affection, the intimacy, the playfulness was just so beautiful. and yes, the lust was there too, but it wasn't the focal point, which is exactly how it should be. really don't know if we're getting another Bruce love interest in this trilogy but I truly believe Reeves established Bruce and Selina as soulmates who have individual healing + growth to do before they can finally come together for real.
