the thing about white ppl complimenting my appearance is that i sense a fakeness behind it. either they compliment me to show how good they are, see, they find even a black girl pretty! and i meet standards that makes it easier, i’m thin and i’m light skinned.

or the words mean different things on me than on white girls. when they’re simply just beautiful i’m the type of beautiful you’d hang on the wall and keep your distance to, not interact with and invite. i’ve had people come up to me to tell me how pretty they thought i was, and then quickly turn around without even waiting for a reply or reaction (and no, it wasn’t bc they were shy, they were more than willing to talk to everyone else). it doesn’t matter, i’m not a person to ever consider being part of your life, not even talk to. the people who compliment me the most are the ones who stay the furthest away.
