the vn medium is so witty and funny. because it’s all pictures, making vn characters communicate brings about super creative results. one of my fav instances: when the plot requires an object… and a character magically produces a huge jpeg of it onto ur screen out of nowhere….? and the other characters are all fine with it… yes… love that.

“ugly” art is a beautiful phenomenon. despite such prevalent, morbid, perverse lookism in mainstream pop culture, “ugly” art remains undeterred. “ugly” art challenges the status quo. “ugly” art is special. “ugly” art is important.

it irks me when i see a non-negotiable practices on social media being paraded around like it’s not engagement-bait. for example a post that says “women deserve rights,” or a story that says “repost if lgbtq rights are human rights!”

it seems woke and comprehensible at first, but it’s really not. who is this post meant for? certainly not anyone that already agrees with this information.

it merely invites people who disagree to the table when they shouldn’t even be there in the first place- exactly the same thing esteemed journalist mehdi hasan said.

as a modern society, we’ve moved past the need for base-knowledge. why are we still arguing about concepts already formulated eons ago? cubic equations were once the pinnacle of math, and now we learn it in middle school.

an unmentioned con to democratic backsliding is the cultural child-ification of your democracy. when their liberties aren’t valued, your adults become fawningly submissive: they always need permission from a higher authority, they do nothing when their rights are taken away, they are very afraid of “punishment.”

i saw this post praising japan for passing a law that makes it illegal to force religion on minors, and then its followed up by comments of “that means you wont be telling kids they’re going to hell! haha i can never imagine passing something like this in texas! go japan!”

japan is not texas. barely less than 2% of the population are christians… most japanese kids dont even know what hell is.

if it’s true, what this law actually means, is to: further marginalize traditional practices and courts for international interests while supplementing more power to the japanese government.

theres no people that center christianity more than the people who dog on christianity. too many white people are like “ughhh i hate religion all it does is control people…” but then turn around and endorse pagan cultures and hellenistic practices or appropriate eastern religious practices. its weird seeing as how they’d swear up and down they’d NEVERRR EVERRR wear the cross ever again after christianity failed them and then turn around and wear bindis and pretend to be samurai and draw ankhs on their faces.

it was the summer of 2019. idv was a baby. the big queer 3- kamochiruu, xuvwa, and pokipon- posted regularly. fire emblem 3 houses just came out. everyone was playing splatoon 3. i’d watched bungo stray dogs three times. i was really excited to watch tokyo ghoul afterwards because everyone said it was good.

people at the AX2026 lads exhibits got rly fucking weird to the zayne and caleb cosplayers: groping them, flashing passports at the cosplayers all racist-like, asking cosplayers if they need a green card… total passport bro behavior. they couldn’t even leave the convention without being stalked. again, cosplayers are REAL people. have some respect.
