Dating Damian Wayne Headcanons

A/N: Hi everyone, this is my first headcanon post. Damian is aged up in this. I hope you enjoy it. As always, feedback is appreciated :) 

- When you first start dating, he’s quite reserved. He’s unsure and frankly, nervous.

- Eventually Damian opens up to you.

- It happens simply, in the cozy warmth of your apartment, as you sit around drinking coffee. He tells you about his parentage, his family and the League Of Assassins.

- You sit, stunned at his honesty.

- From then on, you vow to be as gentle and as caring with him as possible.

- Your dates are simple, you go to cafés, bookstores and quiet old cinemas.

- On Valentine’s Day, he gives you roses and takes you to dinner.

- On your birthday, he makes you a cake and the two of you sit together, hopelessly in love. Damian was never one for lavish presentation. He gifts you a silver chain, on it, a heart-shaped pendant with both your names engraved in loopy letters. He presented you with matching earrings, small heart shaped diamonds that dangled off braided silver rope.

- On his birthday, you do the same, cooking him a three-course meal and making him homemade gifts. What could you give a man that could buy anything his heart desired ? Instead, you made him a wicker basket with all his favourite cookies. You brought him a fountain pen, a scarlet silk tie and a leather briefcase.

- When he unwrapped the presents, he smiled wide. What was in his arms didn’t matter. What did matter was that they came from you.

- Damian doesn’t kiss you in public. He’ll hold your hand, put an arm around you shoulder and more. But he won’t kiss you.

- When you get home, you’ll curl up together, his head in your lap or your head in his lap. Sometimes you’ll read to each other, sometimes you’ll watch a movie but most days, you’ll bask in each other’s presence.

- Damian really loves you, he wouldn’t ever dream of breaking your heart. You know this, and you love him too.

You and Damian had been together when the quarantine started but two weeks later your parents demanded you come home. Because he still goes on patrol Damian refuses to physically see you at the risk of his dear beloved falling ill so he leaves little notes and poems on your desk (he learned how to quietly pop open your window within just a month of dating) and here are some of your favorite notes from him:

Beloved Y/N, My creativity has left me tonight so as I sit on patrol I will account some of tonight’s events because I believe they will bring you pleasure. Though not the kind of pleasure I wish I could give you… Tonight Dick challenged Tim, Jason, and I to see who the second greatest gymnast is and I defeated them. Granted, Jason refused to participate but I believe it was out of weakness. Additionally, Tim has not slept in 36 hours which drastically reduced his speed, agility, and control. Nevertheless, I hope you are proud of me as you are now the world’s second greatest gymnast’s favorite person, and I believe that has some merit. Ah, as I am writing this Tim has a message for you, this will be written by him so excuse poor language as he is severely sleep deprived: Y/N come home or I guess you are home well whatever come home Demon Spawn is a terror without you I tried to cuddle him like you always do but he bit me and I don’t know how you do it why do you even love him. Also! Come home because he’s sexually deprived as fuck. I mean we’ve caught him jackin- Dearest beloved I apologize you’ll have to read that I only brought this paper and it’s pen so. Timothy is correct that I miss you but I hope you can spare the more unsavory details. Anyways, I love you and miss you and I’ll try not to stare at you while you sleep tonight as I know it “creeps you out” Until tomorrow, Damian Wayne.

Greetings Beloved! Today is my day off patrol so I am writing this with Pennyworth tonight. I have attached a recipe for the cookies you love because Alred is upset he cannot cook with you for the time being. Father says you can come back in a week if your family will allow it as long as I have not developed any symptoms so I hope you will let me know quickly as I long to have you in my arms. Pennyworth says that was very cheesy so please do not tell the other hooligans living in my house I said that. It can be our secret. Dating Bruce Wayne/ Batman (More)

The only person besides Alfred and later his kids that he lets in his personal space

He sometimes struggles setting boundaries with touch but you know his queues and he is more vocal about them when he’s comfortable with you

It’ll be along the lines of “I need more space” or maybe that he’s "not comfortable anymore"

He wants to be by you all the time though

You are the two navigators because you work so well and he feels less stressed when you’re the one working by him

Headcanons: Cute things that Damian does for his beloved.

Damian Wayne x reader or Damian Wayne/reader

Word count: 1094 words

TW: GN reader, Damian might be a TW himself, but this is entirely fluff with a hint of slight angst in certain parts... but nothing TW-worthy...

Damian is an artist. I’m pretty sure everyone already knows that… He likes to draw pictures of you. Especially close-ups of your face. He’ll trace down the lines of your cheeks, and the curves of your lips, and pay especially great attention to making your eyes shine like a thousand stars. If you have long hair, he’ll be ecstatic to trace every line and wave of your strands. Even if you don’t usually put your hair up in elaborate styles, he’ll draw them for you just so that you can see how it’d look on you. Damian will never get tired of just staring at your face. You’re the most beautiful and wonderful creature to have ever grazed his sight. 

You might actually no longer need a mirror, if you both have more than thirty minutes before you need to go, Damian will make you a quick sketch of how you look today. From then on you can decide if those trousers really looked that good on you.

Damian is as blunt as can be. That doesn’t change no matter who he’s with. If you have dark under-eye bags, he’ll mention it, as well as call you an idiot and threaten you with “repercussion” if you don’t take better care of his beloved, (you)… He’s not kidding… If you have a tendency to sleep late, he’ll fold you tightly in multiple blankets, (like a burrito), at what he considers a proper bedtime for you. He’ll wrap you so tightly, in fact, that you won’t be able to get free, which is exactly what his plan was. Damian will then proceed to cuddle with you until you fall asleep. If you’re super claustrophobic, he might just settle for the cuddling. However, since he has nightly duties to tend to, your “bedtime” will probably be set at seven or eight in the evening, which is pretty dang early…so perhaps you should just take better care of yourself to escape his caring yet intense intervention. 

Damian will confront anyone who annoys you…especially if it’s one of his brothers or his father/mother, (Alfred is unlikely to be a bothering presence). Damian firmly believes that he’s the only one allowed to be blunt and rude towards you. If anyone dares to encroach on these rights, though, he will go wild… Let’s say one of your friends jokingly says something like, “Look what the cat dragged in” or any other playful jab at your personality, quirks or appearance…You know normal comments between friends… Damian will be hissing like a cat, claws out and ready to tear them a new one…metaphorically, he’s not one of those people who actually hiss at others… at least not anymore…  But! He will verbally attack them if they dare insult you… heck! If anyone insults you, (playfully or not), Damian is on the ready, arms up and ready to fight… Bruce has told him to please stop beating up random classmates just because they said they didn’t like a certain hobby or interest you’re really into… Damian doesn’t care.

Damian sulks… a lot. He’s always acted so much like an adult, even as a kid, so it’s kind of surprising how childish he can be as an adult. If you pay too much attention to one of his brothers, he’ll push them to the ground and drag you off, waiting for you to apologise. If you haven’t texted him back in a few hours, he’ll get concerned and put on his Robin suit before going to wherever he thinks you’ll be, (which is usually correct), just to make sure that you’re okay. When he finds that you’re fine, (which you usually are), he'll throw a mild fit and demand that you'll get a clearer ringtone. (If your phone was simply on "Do Not Disturb", he might just grab the thing out of your hands and turn the setting off himself. Glaring at you while doing so). If he finds you in your home, he’ll throw his mask at your head, before forcing you to sit or lay on your bed so that he can sulkily hug you close to his chest... A bit like a teddy bear.

Actually, most of Damian’s sulking stems from his fear of anything happening to you or that you’ll leave him. He’s experienced a lot of betrayal and death of those closest to him, so, he’s afraid that something of that sort will happen to you. At his core, Damian just wants you to be safe and happy in your relationship with him.

If you’re a fellow hero or sidekick… Oh no… Oh please no… Poor Damian will have a near heart attack every. Single. Day. He’ll beg you to quit, but if you, (understandably), refuse… well, Damian might resign his role as Robin to either work under whichever superhero who’s your mentor or simply become his own independent superhero... who'll just so happen to work alongside you. Yeah, he cares more about you than he does about protecting his title as Robin… the title he has felt destined to possess ever since his birth. If that’s not dedication, I don’t know what is…

Damian will definitely get a new pet and name it after you… It’ll probably be your favourite pet type as well… unless it’s something outrageous, then he might just get a rabbit and name it y/n. Then again… He does have a cow and a turkey, so his perception of outrageous is more than a little skewed… But yeah, that’s probably the biggest honour that can be bestowed upon someone in the mind of Damian… I mean Alfred the cat is a good example of that…

So, in essence, Damian is your grumpy little man… well, not necessarily super “little”, but he gives off short and moody energy, no matter his canon full-grown height… 

He loves you… even if he hates saying the word “love”... It feels disingenuous to him and much too insignificant compared to his feelings for you. He’d give away everything he loves and cares about, just to please you… But he’ll never let up on his passion for you. Damian is a ride-or-die type of person, he either adores you more than life itself or he’d kill you with a flick of his katana… No in-between. 

Anything you want will be yours, just say the word. However, if you’re the type who isn’t super materialistic, he might momentarily be confused. He’s used to people always wanting something which he can give within the hour. But your anti-materialism might actually attract him more since it gives him the opportunity to prove his worthiness and deep adoration in a myriad of other ways… Like reading your favourite book for you at night? Or make you breakfast on the weekends? Or massage your scalp and shoulders while you’re working on something else? He’ll do anything you desire, just say the word… or don’t, he’ll do it anyways.

Five Senses With Damian Wayne (dami x reader)

request: damian wayne x reader fluff? maybe a little touch deprived moment?

hello love! you really left me a tonnn of freedom with this one hehe and I’ve been wanted to play around with the five senses so I thought I’d start here! Let me know if yall would want this with other batboys/yj characters too!  

Smell: You spent quite a while trying to define what Damian smelled like. If he’d been in the garden with Titus it was an earthy, almost floral smell that greeted you when he pulled you into his chest after a long day. Sometimes you could swear there was a metallic sense, like he’d spent the day with his katanas close to his person. But ultimately, the scent that wraps around you, curling in warm tendrils as you snuggle deeper into the hoodie you stole, is citrusy and warm. The combination of the shampoo you’d grown so fond of partnered with the warmth that resides in the mansion seeps into each piece of clothing he owns, you’d swear it’s soaked into his skin as well. So, as you tighten the strings of his stolen hoodie around your form, trying to recreate any feeling of your favorite boy whom you miss more than anything, you drift to sleep forever comforted by the smell of your home away from home, wrapped in the vibrancy of Damian Wayne himself. 

Sight: Sight is so important to Damian. You’re at the point where you can tell his mood by the furrow of his brow, he can read your body language like a book and knows just what to say even before you know what you need. His eyes are always hardened, focused and sharp to adjust quickly and perfectly to whatever comes next. That is, until he meets yours. When his eyes track to your own they soften, the emerald green once concealed by his focused glare begins to open up, the creases of his glare softening, occasionally even shifting into the smile lines you so love to trace with delicate kissed. When your eyes meet his, his shoulders relax, his jaw unhinges, and he reminds himself how lucky he is to get to set his sights on you every day. 

Taste: Damian claims kissing you is sweeter than all the candies in the world. When in private he’s constantly letting his hand drift to your jaw, tilting your head ever so slightly up so that your lips meet his. He loves when you place your hands on either side of his face, deepening the kiss as your favorite grin creeps up on his lips. This soft idiot will whine if you change your chapstick flavor and is known for making a quick stop to pick up a new chapstick because he thought YOU would like it,,, you let him have his moment like the simp he is. 

Touch: Touch was often more of a private thing with Damian, it was rare for him to leave a hand hooked around your waist or latch your hand in his. In fact, you practically had to teach him that cuddling was enjoyable as he believed he would never be one for settling down in your embrace. God was he wrong. It’s really your fault, you created the monster so you have to cuddle him. You wouldn’t even call his need for cuddles daily, more close to hourly. After he discovered the innate joy in letting you curl up against his chest while he runs his fingers in little patterns on your skin he was addicted. Now, he isn’t afraid to break into your house or apartment for a cuddle sesh, he loves to decide you have gone too long without his embrace and just drag you up to his room under the guise of tending to your needs. You truly are a saint for putting up with him it’s not like you adore the way he dotes on your and kisses slow patterns from your collar bone to your cheek, not at allllll hehehe. 

Sound: You didn’t know Damian could sing. His low vibrato was a surprise to you when he started humming quiet tunes into your chest late into the night. He doesn’t really explain what he’s humming, for the most part they’re songs you’ve never heard before, you assume they’re bedtime melodies he remembers from his mother but you’re too cautious to ask. When he’s resting in your embrace you can feel the slight vibration of his lips against your chest as he hums beautiful melodies that never fail to lull you to sleep. You’ve sang him a couple of the songs you remember from childhood and he’s quick to compliment your voice, saying it sounds like an angel even as you blush through embarrassing errors or flat notes. He claims anything you sing is the best song he’s heard in his life and if he could choose, he’d let your sweet tone comfort him after every battle- you just blush and tell him he’s wrong, but how could there be an imperfection in the song sung by the most perfect person in the world?

Promise - Damian Wayne x Reader

"Y/N! you will never believe what Penguin tried today at the charity luncheon! Amid the chicken fingers too! It was quite a hilarious event and- oh. Oh shit. What's wrong?" the hero had easily flitted through your window like a leaf on the cold breeze- a chill which had been blowing into your room for almost two, frozen hours.

"Hey Dames. I'm fine, what happened with Penguin?" you muttered, pushing hair behind your ear to look up at the shocked man in front of you. You quickly wiped away at running mascara, frustrated you even let your emotions get the better of you tonight.

Damian didn't reply, instead he firmly shut your window behind him with one hand, his eyes not leaving your curled figure buried in a corner of your bed. Next he backed up to your closet, continuing to analyze your every move while he changed out of his Batman suit, a new suit that was truly meant for him, into sweats you kept for him a one of your drawers.

You felt the bed dip and Damian was sat at the edge staring at you as if you were going to get up and run away.

You were still curled in a ball, knees to your chest and head resting on your arms as you grumbled, "I asked what happened with Penguin" and Damian gave you a slight frown, "what happened with you?"

"Rude"

"You've been crying"

"Have not"

"So pretty even when lying to me" he mumbled, sliding into place next to you, draping a long arm around you to pull you into his chest. You huffed in response, but it was more an excuse to inhale the smell of dry cedar, vanilla, and just a hint of sweat- overwhelmingly perfect (for my connoisseurs I'm talking ORMAIE Toï Toï Toï).

Giving into your silence he pulled out his phone, pulling up footage clearly from the day's events. You watched Penguin try to steal a highly expensive painting being auctioned, but before he could get away, Damian was bounding towards the thief, using Penguin's own henchmen's heads as stepping stones. They fell almost like bowling pins as your hero flipped and spun through the air, Penguin kept trying to shoot at the blur but Damian just had the villain spinning in circles until he too collapsed without Damian even having to lift a finger.

"Dick would be soooo proud" you giggled leaning your head up to look at Damian who was grinning proudly at the film himself.

"There's that smile. And yeah, I already sent it to him! He says he's gonna try the same move next week." Damian mused, tucking the phone back into his pocket, his arm still draped around you as he mindlessly tapped his fingers on your side.

You realized he wasn't going to drop it so you broke the silence, "I just had a bad day Dames, nothing to it, it happens."

"You know I would literally kill anyone who hurt yo-"

"I know Dames, I know. But this wasn't really anyones fault, I just get in my own head sometimes." you huffed, actually relaxing after getting the thoughts off your chest.

He tapped your skill with a frown, "well, then let the people in there know I'm coming for them next."

"You're coming for my thoughts?" you snorted.

"If that's what is takes to make you happy, I'll call Zatanna we can magic school bus this shit or something-" Damian was joking, but you appreciated the sentiment.

"Sometimes you've just gotta be a little sad D, I'll be okay,"

"Promise?"

"With you by my side? I could never be upset for long, I promise."

"That's what I like to hear!"

"I could totally use some pizza though, you know, to cure me"

"For you, Beloved, the world" your hero responded, pulling out his phone to order your favorites, clearly excited just to spend time with you. Seriously though, with him around it was impossible to be upset for long.

"You know I love you, Damian Wayne."

"I sure hope so, no other heroes better be coming through your window at night!" he teased back, pressing a kiss to your forehead while you shook your head with a laugh, feeling the pressure and weight get lifted off your shoulders already.

The doggo is a black German Shepherd with a white patch on his chest that looks like the Nightwing symbol, which is the entire reason you got him. His name is Eagle :D

No matter where you work, the two of you take your lunches together every day and get coffee before work if there’s enough time. You picked this place because it’s close to both your jobs, obvi

As far as decor goes, there are a few high-humidity plants, neutral and blue tones, and cool metal

You have a smaller apartment, but it’s close to the top of the building and you actually get to see the Gotham sun sometimes

Whenever Rella or Rapunzel knows Tim’s been on his computer too long, or you’re hyperfixated on a case, or neither of you have slept in a while, they’ll drag you away from your work for a walk or a nap or food

The other cat is Cookie!! She’s nice but you and Dami tell everyone she’s mean so when they get affection they feel all warm inside [:

Keep in mind these guys are the only permanent ones- you foster all kinds of animals, including more dogs and cats, chinchillas, guinea pigs, rabbits, birds, even a bat once

- I feel like he'd be very appreciative with someone who's able to tolerate and understand his behavior, especially when he's older. Having been raised by cold-blooded assassins, he can be brash at times. But due to the guidance of the batfamily, he's slowly learning to be more empathetic and compassionate towards others; especially you. Having someone who can accept that part of his past would make him feel accepted and valid for who he is :))

- He also appreciates when you call him out whenever he goes too far with his words, he's always striving to improve himself and having a partner that advises him on things he could work on warms his heart - it makes him feel like his goals and ambitions matter just as much to you as it does to him :)

- secretly loves to slow dance, he likes the idea of your bodies pressed close together, dancing gracefully to romantic music while passing the time. So when you randomly mention slowdancing when the two of you are watching a movie, he takes your hand to lead you to the floor, one hand on your waist while he tenderly grasps your other hand as the movie continues to play in the background.

- gifts, gifts and even more gifts <3 he loves spoiling you with things. Knowing his busy schedule, he doesn't always have the time to spend with you so whenever he comes around to meet you, expect a small token he brought along that reminded him of you. Imagine Damian being worried about sleeping in the same bed as the reader because of his nightmares and being a light sleeper but he ends up sleeping harder and more peacefully than he ever has whenever they’re in the bed. Bonus points if he thinks he’s the person who doesn’t like to cuddle while sleeping and he wakes up literally on top of them 😂

Initially, Damian was worried about sleeping in your home. There were no accessible weapons nearby, no motion tracking systems in place for protection, and he was certain he'd wake up easily from you shuffling in your sleep. Hell, he was even worried that you'd be butt-hurt from the fact that he doesn't like to cuddle when sleeping. It left so much opportunity for vulnerability, and he was not prepared for that. 

So when he's brought into the comfort of your bed, he expects himself to have a hard time sleeping. The last thing he expected to happen was to wake up with drool on his pillow and you cuddled up in his arms, positioned where it seemed like he was covering you like a blanket.

 And even though your bed has no katanas by your bedside, no daggers underneath your pillow, the way you hold each other to sleep has him feeling like he's resting in the safest place earth has to offer. And he wouldn't give it up for anything. Especially not when you give him the sweetest smile he's ever seen after waking up in his arms, not when he gets to have you close to him, content and safe.

 And when he gets to look into your groggy, blown out pupils in the morning, he swears he'll never love anyone like he does you. He'd hold you like this until the end of time if he could, because Damian Wayne can't help but love you like that.
