it's really sad to think about that male characters in media will always get grace and sympathy and be consistently praised for being "such a well written character" when he's done some fucked up things and people will brush it aside because He's Traumatized and He's A Flawed And Interesting Character. but female characters who can also be flawed and interesting and have gone through their own traumas that would explain their behavior, but once they do something the audience wouldn't like, they turn on her. and that she's Pure Evil or She's Annoying and that she doesn't deserve any sympathy to the point where they're wishing her to die. and it really shows that a female character would be loved by the fandom if she was a guy. and that a male character would be hated if he was a girl. and that's not even that far off reach! because it's true!

The Gilded Age is doing a musical episode and you're in charge of programming... jukebox style but from existing Broadway scores rather than pop songs, set ~S3, but flexible on this. Obviously you don't need a coherent plot, just like one song per character... what is everyone singing?

I'm struggling with a few characters, but here are some and I'll add more as I think of them. I've also tried to stick to songs the actors would be able to sing.

Aurora - Dividing Day. Preferably sung while crying in her bedroom after the events of the first episode.

Lina - Could I Leave You? Cop out answer, but she deserves to get really mad.

Dorothy - Fable

Peggy - The Light in the Piazza

William and Peggy - Till There Was You (Most Golden Age duets would work. Or he could sing Love To Me.)

Dorothy and Frederick - Let's Walk (And then they have an affair.) Our Children would also work.

Charlotte Astor - The Miller's Son

Mrs. Bruce - Always Better (Doesn't fully fit, but if you add in the cut scene from the finale script it sort of works? Would probably have to change the key which is sacrilege for this song, but I can't think of anything else.)
