heartunsettledsoul’s holiday bughead fic roundup
write more of a little more [6/6, 20k; part one of the don’t fear doing things wrong series]
After all, it’s not her fault that their respective best friends took to each other like moths to a flame and ditched them to go flirt in the great outdoors. In all likelihood Betty’s vacation is just as ruined as Jughead’s, so they may as well commiserate together. or, a double prompt fill for my own personal festive fic fest 2018: you’re my hot ski instructor and i’m failing the bunny hill & our friends rent a cabin to go skiing and we’re the only ones who stay inside
hold me even closer now [5/5, 26k; part two of the don’t fear doing things wrong series]
“Okay, well, if Veronica isn’t the one sending flight confirmation details for a prepaid flight to Burlington because she decided to come home after all, who is?”
“Sending what?” Betty wedges between Jug and the arm of the loveseat, looking where he points on his laptop screen.
Sure enough, Forsythe Pendleton Jones III, is booked for a flight to Burlington on December 23. Two days from now.
Betty lunges for her own computer on the coffee table, so frantic to get into her email account that she mistypes her password three times.
Top of her inbox: Elizabeth Anne Cooper, booked for a flight to Burlington on December 23.
Just below the confirmation from the airline is an email from Cooper-comma-Alice.
or, Betty and Jughead visit the Coopers for Christmas. With some unexpected, tropey twists.
(pssssst. there might be a part three to don’t fear doing things wrong coming to ur ao3 inbox/tag this holiday season.)
(Christmas Eve Will Find Me) Where the Love Light Gleams [oneshot, 4.4k]
It made for a ridiculous image: Veronica dressed in heels and a chiffon dress, but wearing a Santa hat and covered in flour; Archie wielding a ball of dough and as many decorations as could fit in his arms; and then Betty, placing felt antlers on her head as though it were her battle armor and yanking a protesting Jughead up by the elbow.
Betty’s in for a happy surprise when she shows up for Christmas with Veronica and Archie and their front door is opened by none other than Jughead Jones.
won’t be the same dear (if you’re not here with me) [3/3, 12k]
She nods. Betty Cooper nods, agreeing to pretend-date him. An extremely normal favor between friends.
Nerves shudder their way through him.
In kind, Betty shivers, and it becomes clear they need to return inside.
“Ready to enter the belly of the beast?” Jughead jokes.
Her only response is to roll her eyes at him, which gives him a semblance of hope that they might retain normalcy in their friendship after this fiasco is over. Or rather, to use Betty’s own words, their relationship.
or a miscommunication, a blizzard, and only one bed.
if the fates allow [8 individual mini prompts fills, about 1k each or under]
a collection of holiday prompt fills from 2018 (god)
turn the white snow [5/5, 12k words]
Betty borrows the Lodge’s winter cabin to hide away and get her work done. When a storm hits, she’s stranded in the snow with her neighbor, Jughead Jones. As you can imagine, things heat up.
(listen this one is old af and even i judge my writing but. it is technically festive, so.)
