Lilith Goode was born on a dark and damp day in September of 2002. Some say the world cried that day. Her mother who wanted nothing to do with the infant had abandoned Lilith in front of an all girls home in Shadyside. Her childhood would be nothing but shy of a trip to hell. The small, naïve toddler waited day after day to be adopted. How pathetic that she even think she could be loved.

Though other girls were being adopted left and right, no one ever wanted Lilith. At first she was unable to understand, she was too young. Small Lilith had nothing but hope she’d find a loving home; but that day never came. From the time she was able to verbally communicate she claimed to see things that no one else could see. Lilith found comfort in her gifts though somehow. It wasn’t just the adults who wanted nothing to do with her, the children didn’t either. Lilith made friends within the spirit world which are the only friends she would ever make. Everyone was convinced that this child was of the devil and one day she might prove them right. Nights were sleepless and days were never ending. Surely this was no one else’s fault but her own. Why couldn’t she be normal? What was wrong with her?

Lilith was kicked out of the orphanage at the age of 17 forcing the young female to fend for herself. She would sleep in abandoned cars and houses as well as steal from the local supermarket to make it by. After getting back on her feet, Lilith went to school to become a mortician. She found that helping others have closure with their loved ones was something she enjoyed.

Jae-Seong looked at the other moving to grab some tissues he kept his bag handing it to the other for a moment “I could take a look at it? It’s kinda my profession to look after people in these extract situations” He mused before laughing at her words “You aren’t wrong, but I assure you I don’t think so.”

She took the tissue from him and began to hold her nose with it tilting her head back. Something she was told to do from a young age, but whether it actually helped she wasn’t sure. “Oh, a doctor? It’ll save me a trip if you don’t mind. Knowing me I broke it..” Lilith removed the cloth from her nose so he could examine it.

Rowan had been rushing through the campus, hurrying to his office when he ran into her, and his heart nearly skipped a beat when he first noticed Lilith’s appearance. “Yeah, it looks pretty damn brutal as well.” He told her under his breath as he took a better look at her nose, hissing when he noticed her nose starting to swell slightly. “Do you have any clean shirt you can change into? If not, you can surely go through the lost and found pile. I doubt anyone will miss it.” Rowan couldn’t help but grimace when he took another look at her. “You know what, you should probably come inside, clean up, and I’ll get something cold for your nose before someone mistakes you for a serial killer or something.”  

“In this town it wouldn’t shock me.” She stated, a small laugh. Things in this town were different and just when she thought she’d seen it all she saw something new. “Thank you.” Lilith stepped inside and went to the restroom to straighten up. She washed the blood off of her hands and face before returning to the man. “So, about that lost and found pile?”

She’d woken up at least two hours late. And though she technically set her own schedule she didn’t want to keep families waiting. Lilith was in her own headspace running down the sidewalk before feeling a thud. She was now on the ground looking up at the person in front of her. “I’m so sorry. I’m super clumsy..It’s not your fault at all.” Lilith smiles at them and helps them pick up her things. “Nice to meet you, I’m Lilith!”

Bellamy offers a hand to the other to help them off the ground, feeling terrible for knocking not only their things to the ground but also them. “I didn’t think anyone was in more of a rush than me but I see I was clearly wrong.” They joked with a small grin before introducing themselves. “I’m Bellamy. I just moved here with my mom a couple weeks ago. It’s nice to meet you.”

“Work and all..I woke up super late this morning so.” She laughs then extends her hand for them to shake. “It’s nice to meet you, Bellamy. If you’d like I’d love to show you around some time.”

Penelope looked at the girl, covered in blood. She took a deep sigh, got a piece of cloth she had kept in her backpack, and approached the girl to start cleaning it up. “My child had it from time to time when she was little.” Penelope said. “You should go see a doctor though. This one is a little too much.”

“Ow.” She winced a bit, her nose still sore from making contact with the ground. She held still though so that the other can properly clean her wound. “Thank you for this.” She mused, a smile on her face. “You’re probably right..knowing me I broke my nose.” Lilith sighed staring down at the other as she continued to clean her up.

“Everything’s important,” Gilbert said, an instinctual response when you dealt with young people who always declared things unimportant. “At least to someone. Even if it’s only yourself.” He flashed a grin. “Lilith… “ He paused, registering the name. “I taught you once, didn’t I?”

“I was just rambling about work.” She confessed, a smile on her face. It was nice to know someone wanted to listen. Lilith gasped gently as she now can put a name to a face. “Yes! I remember you now. You were, like, my favorite teacher! Mr. Norton, right?”

Jae-Seong eyed the girl for a moment he was quite used to sights like this but he also knew sometimes things were always straight off the back bad. “Its okay, I’m a doctor, are you hurt though? Usually when nose bleeds are that level there could be something wrong”

‘Are you hurt?’ She thought for a moment before answering him. “Yeah, just fell and busted my nose. I’ll be okay though. I just need to clean up. If someone sees me they might think I’m a serial killer or something.” Which wasn’t unheard of in this town. Clumsy, clumsy Lilith. Air was an obstacle for her.

“I swear it’s not what it looks like!” She was covered in blood from a horrible nose bleed she’d just experienced and happened to bump into the stranger. However, the splattered blood did look suspicious..all over her hands and her shirt. “I had a nose bleed..it was pretty brutal.”

“Oh, shit, I’m so sorry.” Bellamy muttered after they crashed into someone else, sending both of their belongings falling to the ground. They had been in such a rush to get from their last class at Shadyside Community College to their job at Shadyside Mall, that they hadn’t really been paying attention to where they were walking. They had been focused more on the street signs, still getting used to the commute from school to work after only been in town for a month. “Let me help you pick this up.” Bellamy said as they kneeled to the ground to collect their belongings.

She’s rambling on about something, what exactly that is? Just her job. When he asks her what she’s said she just replies “Nothing important.” She smiles at him. “I was just asking where I’d seen you before. You look familiar. Lilith.” The girl introduces as she holds out her hand. After all the stranger probably wouldn’t care much about her job.
