I just saw Comet for the third time on Saturday (4/22).

Let me start off by saying that Scott Stangland (I did not see him as Pierre, Josh Groban SLAYED as per usual) needs so much appreciation because he is the chillest and coolest dude (and I can’t wait to actually see him as Pierre at some point). He took us backstage and is so kind and down to earth (also backstage is AMAZING). Being able to freely walk around the stage was one of the coolest things.

Anyway some highlights from this experience: -I GOT A LETTER. From the lovely accordion player killer ensemblist Kat (literally this was all I’ve ever wanted) -Lucas Steele stood right in front of me and winked at me and I melted -Alex Gibson came up to our table before the show because he saw my twin trying to make sense of the family tree -at stage door I talked about War & Peace with Nick Choksi -I GOT A FIST BUMP FROM LUCAS AT STAGE DOOR AND I MELTED AGAIN

THIS SHOW GIVES ME LIFE FAM

diana is asian and dan is white

diana being asian has absolutely affected her experience with mental health!!!!!

diana being asian has absolutely affected her marriage w dan bc there are things abt her caused by cultural upbringing that he just can’t understand

diana being asian has absolutely affected how doctors treat her, like in terms of dr. fine deciding that not feeling anything makes her stable since a lot of the time, in asian families talking abt your feelings and being expressive of them is discouraged 

natalie being asian goes rlly well with her frustrations with school

she feels like she has to succeed and go above and beyond not only bc she wants to escape her family, but bc of all the pressure placed on her as an asian to do well in school

and she thinks that what she’s doing now would be impressive if she were just white but that yale could find another asian girl much better than her

and again the fact that asian families often discourage expressing and communicating feelings makes her outburst in superboy and the invisible girl

also!!!!!! henry isn’t white but he isn’t asian (bc a lot of the time asians, esp light skinned and e asians, feel disconnected from other poc) which contributes to natalie being so on edge with him at first

next to normal with asian american ppl
