Acacia meal of the day!

Spring-mix salad with broccoli, bell pepper, and carrots with a side of blueberry and apple baby food. Topped with a chamomile and dandelion leaf garnish.

Of course with a side of their seed/kitten food mix!

Rating given upon presentation:

Acacia rats are so interesting! They have a high pitched 'chitter' that they do when they are absolutely beyond angry at something. They bob their heads when they're uncertain or trying to take more information about things.

And they LOVE honey.

Those who guessed sugar gliders were very smart to do so- but! Instead, meet Bonnie and Clyde, two Acacia Rats!

Acacia rats live in their namesake, Acacia trees! They eat the gum from Acacia trees, as well as leaves and various sweet fruits!

This is a species I've been dying to work with. I cannot wait to meet them in person and introduce everyone to these unique little babies!

This little darling's diet has quite a bit of natural sugar in it! Gum and berries galore! They live, hide, and raise their young in the trees.

While they're typically quiet, they are obsessed with bark.

There are many relatives in their family tree, only three others share their same species, but only they are so dedicated to their tree that they took its name.

Ohgosh they love them! My gran spoils them daily. As much as I miss having bunches and bunches of friendly babies- having just a few makes it much easier to give them whatever their little hearts desire. We sat outside for an hour or so the other day and just listened to the birds sing and the boys boggled up a storm the entire time. It was lovely 💜
