How does mettaton know
So when playing undertale I realized one of mettatons lines when singing is"and then you will die a lot"
You're probably thinking it's just a coincidence
Well when you think about it it doesn't really make sense if you think about it that way
If Asgore ends up killing you he remembers that he did along with sans during the genocide route
Sans it's only implied he can remember resets
Asgore çan but it's only mentioned during his fight and that's only if you actually died during it
Flowey I get I mean he had the ability before you so it would make sense he would remember resets
I mean technically undyne does remember you but it's only implied and it's never mentioned again
After a normal reset it will kind of be mentioned
But the one thing I'm confused about is mettaton being able to know you can come back from the dead
Whenever you die in Holland mettaton is not seen
"but what about alphys"
I mean sure get that she did have human souls but it's after they died
She knows about the persisting after death but I don't think she knows they can literally come back to life I think they're just talking about the fact human souls come after the body after death
I have a few theories about why mettaton knows about your ability
The first theory is it's because of the determination
During undertale yellow during the "Omega flowey"(doing this to avoid spoilers) fight you get to fight specimens
One of those specimens is metal
So that means alphys put a human soul or at least determination inside of a robot
That robot could be mettaton
You could probably argue she's not in that game
But during "sans"(once again avoiding spoilers) boss fight it shows martlet talking to alphys
So no that my friend is not the case
So that could be the possibility about mettaton knowing about your deaths
Another theory I have it's a bit more far-fetched
Flowey told mettaton
I mean I get why I would think this he would probably tell them to mess with the timeline and to mess with us
But if that's the case how come mettaton didn't mention it
I'm pretty sure mettaton would mention a talking flower during there fight
Well then again it's not really mentioned ever again so I'm probably just thinking too much into this
