Question...
I’m seriously asking.
When this needs to be repeated several times over one post, and every post -
When these are also obviously saved for ease of c&p -
(nice use of third person there!)
In what universe does that make Lime Crime a company who have left the bad behind?
Seriously, if we talk about the most recent stuff (breach, FDA, inconsistent products in the last 12 months alone) we are labelled liars who are trying to destroy a ‘new’ small business. Forget that the breach happened, the FDA investigated and the social media of Lime Crime and Doe Deere are littered with comments by customers unhappy with their products. Nope, making it all up.
If we discuss the history of Lime Crime (repackaging allegations, cyber-bullying, mislabelled products) or of Xenia herself (Single White Femaling people, badmouthing contemporaries, lying, stealing and threatening various people with legal action) we are accused of living in the past and talking about things not even related to Lime Crime today.
I’ve asked before, that if the evidence I’ve provided is not enough to go on, or that you disbelieve it is legit, then to come and show where I am wrong. I would happily and openly admit I was wrong if my research was incorrect. But just as I have a responsibility to make sure my information is solid, whomever tells me my information is wrong needs to prove how. It’s not enough to say you simply don’t believe it and therefore it can’t be true - I’ve went to a lot of trouble to back everything up so I can report it with confidence.
I do not want to taint anything I do with lies or nastiness - customers and boycotters alike deserve better than that. It’s why I’ve even stood up for Lime Crime in the past, when people have wrote in lies and I’ve corrected them. I’ve had messages from people who have wanted to ask about things regarding Lime Crime simply because they automatically don’t believe the company themselves will tell the truth. When I’ve had positive news to report, I’ve done so happily.
I try to treat people with respect, and more than once I’ve went out my way to help people whose views very much differ from my own. To see I’m being labelled as a hater, liar, rumour monger, disingenuous by the people I’ve respected enough to not insult or belittle is upsetting. To see them do it to appease someone who I believe doesn’t deserve the adoration of these people is saddening.
So I’ll say it again. When Lime Crime, Xenia or assorted supporters say they have addressed the scandals, controversy and drama (oh my!) are they admitting fault in anything or are they trying to claim that every. single. time. it was a misunderstanding, rumour or outright lie? Has nothing people have been concerned about (past and present; as a company and as an individual) actually happened the way I have evidence of? At any point - EVER - were Lime Crime and/or Xenia actually in the wrong, as implicated by said evidence?
Now, if that was the case, and Lime Crime/Xenia had owned up to being wrong and making amends without being pushed into it (a la Hitler pic) then I’d have hope for the brand and the person. No one is perfect, and mistakes and misjudgements happen. It’s why I’m so willing to admit I may be wrong too. But to tell me I’m wrong with all this back up while taking for granted Xenia is telling the truth - which is purely positive - with little to no evidence, is naive.
Use critical thinking. If you’re going to question me (and you should), question Lime Crime too. Ask for evidence, proof, whatever you need to make a decision and form an opinion you are happy with. The copy and paste answers Lime Crime currently give, linking to a page that says a lot without saying anything of substance, is dismissive and rude to those who want to know more. I’m sick of seeing them, and I’m going to start charging Lime Crime for fielding their customer concerns for them because the customers don’t get a decent response direct!
Ok, I’m done ranting.
Just remember, if you have to keep telling everyone how great you are, you aren’t.
