the thing about female characters and marriage and motherhood and other societal expectations is that if you actually spend time examining their relationships to those roles you can get really interesting results! but people aren’t doing that! why is this character married for the finale? because she’s a woman and that’s what they do!

Or if Dutch guy had never appeared out of thin air and the void Ted had left behind had never been filled (and let's pause on that for a second and contemplate how bonkers that is). It's all about timing. So it's fine. All the ingredients are there and it's beautiful to me. Nothing can change that. 😌
