A baby to save the day.
It had been weeks since Lincoln broke things off with Tori and he’d done his best at ignoring her calls until something was nagging at him to pick up one of the million times she called. “Hello.” His voice was flat as he was already exasperated with her after being harassed for weeks on end. There wasn’t a hope he was getting back with her no matter what pity party she threw his way and just how well she tried to get back into his pants. “Can I see you, please?” Her voice was soft, which was very unlike her and it brought Link’s walls down in the slightest as he stood there in the living room holding the phone to his ear. Not much had changed since they’d broken up. Lincoln still slept alone every night aside from when Elias, his son had a nightmare. It wasn’t anything like she thought with him jumping right back into things with Elle. Lincoln had a feeling that it was inevitable that he would end up with his high school sweetheart again, but he wasn’t quite ready.
“What did you have in mind?” He asked in return with a roll of his eyes. If he knew anything about her she would be trying to get him drunk to give herself a better chance. “Can I just stop by or something?” He sighed and pulled the phone away from his face for a moment to glance at the time. Elle had Elias currently and Link had maybe another hour before the two of them would be back. “Yeah, I have about half an hour.” He muttered when he placed the phone back against his ear. “Okay, I’ll see you soon, babe.” Lincoln could hear the smile in her voice before he hung up. There was something she was up to, he just didn’t know what it was yet.
The knock came all too quickly on the door as if she had been close by and that caused him to roll his eyes yet again. The blond man opened the door to take in the sight of his ex girlfriend Tori Blackwell wearing the lowest cut shirt she could wear without just having her tits out for the world to see. “What do you want?” Lincoln almost growled at her as he already saw where this was going to go. She didn’t say a word but simply brushed past him and into the house where she began to look around as if it had been much longer than a few weeks that she had been gone. “Things look exactly the same.” He muttered, turning to watch her and his comment made the smile disappear from her made up face. She tucked a stray strand of blonde locks behind her ear and then she sunk down into one of the dining room chairs. “Well, this is kind of awkward.” She looked at Lincoln with wide blue eyes and then motioned for him to sit.
Lincoln took the seat at the head of the table, an empty seat between the two of them. “What bullshit reason are you here for, Tori?” He was rather uninterested in dealing with her drama now that she was here and she sighed and then put her hands on the table and in her hands she was holding something long and slender. “Well….” Before she got the words out she moved her hands to reveal a pregnancy test on the table in front of her. Lincoln felt like everything came to a stand still. “You went and got knocked up and we’ve only been broken up a few weeks? Great job there.” He snarled to which she actually laughed. “It’s yours you asshole! I haven’t been with anyone else since we broke up.” Lincoln shook his head and got up from his chair. “This is bullshit.” He turned away from her and all he could seem to do was shake his head.
“I swear to God, if this is some kind of joke it isn’t fucking funny.” He then growled as he turned back towards her to see her eyes welling with tears. “Why would I joke about something like this? I just don’t know what to do and I figured the father would want to know!” She screamed the last couple of words before she got up from the table. Lincoln ran his hands over his face and then he raised them in the air with a shrug of his shoulders in a rather over dramatic fashion. “What do you want from me? I’m not here to play house with you. It’s not gonna happen if that's what you want.” She laughed bitterly and wrapped her arms around her still flat stomach while staring at Lincoln. “I just wanted you to know that I’m keeping it I guess.” She shrugged her shoulders. “I was hoping you would be happy or something, not treat me like trash.” Lincoln scoffed and stared at her before shaking his head a couple times just in the slightest. “I can’t….” His words were almost a whisper and now it was her turn to scoff. “Oh yeah, because the queen bitch is back. All hail the one who lies and will leave your ass again.” Tori headed for the door without another word but Lincoln gingerly grabbed her arm. “I can’t be with you, but if this baby is mine, that is on me.” He stated with a nod of his head.
Lincoln might have been a rather confused man at the moment, but he wasn’t a deadbeat. He worked his ass off for his son and if he had to do it all over again he would. “If?” She glared up at him, fire in her blue eyes as he could see her winding up to hit him. He’d managed to lean back a little bit, but she still got his cheek a little bit with her open hand. “How dare you….I’m not a whore.” She cried out and then she rushed out the door, slamming it behind her. Lincoln was left there in a whirlwind of emotions to deal with alone. He wasn’t quite sure how he was going to face this one and what it was going to do to his life, but it looked like he was going to be a father again.
