Beautiful Celtic Prayers

I found these the other day while looking for chants and Celtic prayers/ poetic words. I often struggle with the weight of suffering in the world and when those close to me are sick and hurting I live to have positive thoughts to not only meditate upon but to speak as I'm thinking of them. These are lovely. Good thoughts for any day!

New book!

I recently downloaded a sample if Margot Adler's Drawing Down the Moon. I did this immediately after listening to a stellar interview she did on Druidcast. I am so impressed with her writing, her vast research, and her attention to detail that not only informs the reader, but cuts to the heart and meaning of different pagan/ neo-pagan traditions. As a birthday present I was able to order a copy off of Amazon. I just got it in the mail yesterday. So excited to read more!!!!

Lately.

Finally making a post. Life has been stressful lately. I've been working on it in part, trying to smother it in part, working, avoiding, shutting down and then starting over. Something new I found this week that I'm loving: Druidcast. It's a podcast produced by the OBOD. Great music and lectures. I'm in a current dig and recover mode in my inner search, looking for things to read and listen to that will strengthen my path.

lately.

Finished The Druidry Handbook.  It is incredible.  Have been going back over it again this week.  I went by the library and picked up more books to begin this part of the path.  I must admit I felt a little overwhelmed at the amount of subjects that are important to study as outlined by Greer in the Handbook.  But!  All in good time!  So, starting out, I have books to read on plants, birds in my area, books of selected poetry by Christina Rossetti (hers is beautiful and has tons of nature and earth patterned themes) and also W.B. Yeats.  I have a book to read as well on Norse mythology.  Unfortunately, I was unable to find books to check out on runes or Ogham, so I will go with what I have and add those in a few weeks (must acquire!)

Later subjects of reading:  ecology, cloud patterns, sacred geometry, and oh yeah, music!  

I have my work cut out for me. :)

Currently have delved deeply into The Druidry Handbook by John Michael Greer.  This book is incredible.  It is full of history, detail, lore, and practical application.  Greer is a wonderful writer.  He is concise.  This book is a perfect jumping point into this spiritual path that I am so drawn to.  

Another book I am almost finished with is called Mindfulness in Plain English by Bhante Henepola Gunaratana , a great present indeed from my sister.  Part of my path includes meditation so I am grateful to have this added insight!

This is a beautiful painting by Artist Patricia Bigelow entitled Cedar Tree Blues.  I absolutely love it! I would like to get a print at some point to hang in my apartment.
