poison¡!
Hyunjin had the life he had always dreamed of. A beautiful house in a quiet neighborhood, a job he loved running an art gallery, and a caring husband who loved him unconditionally. He felt fulfilled, at peace—there was nothing about his life he would have changed.
One evening, as he arrived home, he heard laughter coming from the kitchen. It struck him as odd; they didn’t usually have visitors at that hour. Curious, he followed the sound, only to find Felix, the neighbor next door, standing there. That was the first time the man entered his life. And without realizing it, within a few weeks, scenes like that would become almost routine.
Hyunjin had never been the jealous type. He was sociable himself. But he didn’t like that Felix showed up three or more times a week without notice—at least, not to him. He didn’t like how, whenever he walked into the room where his husband and Felix were, the atmosphere would shift. The laughter would stop. The conversation would change.
It was starting to wear on him. He couldn’t stand it anymore. It felt like a slow poison seeping into his perfect life.
So he began suggesting the idea of a dinner for the three of them, hoping to observe them more closely. After enough persistence, he succeeded. They all marked their calendars: in two days, they would meet at Felix’s place.
Hyunjin was the most eager of them all.
When the day finally arrived, the atmosphere was slightly awkward, but he was certain that by the end of the night, things would be different. Wanting to make a good impression as a guest, he helped Felix with whatever he could.
The evening turned out to be surprisingly pleasant. The tension faded quickly, and he even managed to hold an engaging conversation with Felix. He discovered they shared a love for art.
Maybe this was all he had needed—to talk calmly with Felix. Not to poison the food when he had the chance.
But by then, it was already too late to consider other options.
It wasn’t long after dessert that both Hyunjin and Jeongin began to feel dizzy. Their throats tightened as they collapsed from their chairs, unconscious. Felix panicked, unable to understand what was happening.
Hyunjin had made sure Felix would be blamed for attempted murder. He had carefully hidden the bottle of poison on one of the kitchen shelves, and earlier that night, while excusing himself to the bathroom, he had slipped into Felix’s room to plant a box filled only with photos of Jeongin.
Hyunjin had done what needed to be done to keep his life just as perfect as it had always been.
rainy day ¡!
Seungmin hated rainy days. They always carried bad memories for him—he got sick easily, the heavy traffic made him late to important places, or somehow he always ended up completely soaked.
Today, of all days, it had to rain. It was his first job interview. He had been preparing for days, his friends had coached him with practice runs, but no matter what, his nerves were still on edge.
Because of how anxious he was, he forgot to set his alarm. He woke up late and rushed out of the house, forgetting to check the weather forecast, which predicted a storm.
By the time he reached the corner of his street, the first raindrops had already begun to fall. He picked up his pace, but it didn’t take long before he slipped and fell straight into a giant puddle.
“This day couldn’t get any worse,” he muttered, standing up and hurrying on, trying to outrun both the rain and the embarrassment.
Just as he was nearing his destination, he noticed an umbrella drifting along the street, carried by the wind. He grabbed it before it got away and quickly opened it, shielding himself as he crossed the road. At least it would come in handy after the interview.
He made it to the café without further trouble—early, even, before the manager had arrived. Seungmin waited anxiously in the office until, ten minutes later, a knock on the door pulled him out of his thoughts.
A radiant-looking young man walked in, his clothes and hair still damp.
“Good morning. I’m Bangchan, the manager of the café. Sorry I’m late—I had a bit of trouble with… my umbrella,” he said with an embarrassed smile. Seungmin felt his stomach twist.
The interview went surprisingly well, and Seungmin was offered the job. The mess of the morning had all but slipped from his mind—until he stepped outside, opened his “new” umbrella, and heard a voice behind him.
“Hey, that looks a lot like my umbrella!”
Seungmin’s face turned crimson. He turned around slowly, already bracing himself for being fired before his first day even started. He scrambled for an excuse, but the only words that came out were:
“This umbrella saved me from catching a cold,” he muttered awkwardly.
Bangchan let out a soft laugh. At least for now, his job was safe.
“Then I guess it belongs to you more than it does to me.”
“We could share it… after all, it’s yours. I’d love to walk with you,” Seungmin replied shyly.
Bangchan gave him a surprised look, but didn’t hesitate to accept.
“How about we head to my place? We could have something nice for dinner while watching a movie… would you like that?” Bangchan asked, his eyes sparkling.
From that day on, rainy days weren’t so bad for Seungmin anymore.

candles ¡!
Han was desperate. He’d run out of options to save the semester. As usual, he’d left everything for the last minute, and there was no human way to catch up on all his exams. While wasting time online, he came across a “quick ritual” that promised to help him study and pass without lifting a finger.
He didn’t know if it would work, but at that point, he had nothing to lose.
He gathered everything the ritual called for: five candles, a small bowl of salt, paper, a black ink pen, and one milliliter of his own blood. He arranged the candles in a pentagram and sprinkled handfuls of salt in the empty spaces between them. The air grew heavier with every passing minute, but failing his exams worried him far more than the strange atmosphere around him.
He mixed all the ingredients and focused every ounce of faith he had into making it work.
When he was done, he blew out the candles and went to bed, hoping to wake up smarter—or at least still alive.
When morning came, everything seemed normal… except his entire body ached. His skin was covered in bruises and scratches—some deep enough to bleed. He glanced around his room, and his stomach dropped.
Where the pentagram had been, there was now a dark circle of ash. The rest of the room was completely trashed, like something—or someone—had torn through it during the night.
“Shit… what do I do now?” he whispered, a chill running down his spine.
Before he could even think, something began to take shape in the far corner of the room—slowly, almost deliberately.
A shadow. Tall. Black. Its eyes glowed faintly, and its grin stretched far too wide to belong to anything human.
lavender ¡!
The sound of the doorbell chimed softly, followed by the sweet scent of lavender. That was the first time Minho saw Hyunjin—and he was completely enchanted. He was the most beautiful man he had ever laid eyes on, and in that instant, Minho knew he couldn’t let him slip away. What if he was the love of his life?
He watched him closely, discreetly admiring every move the blonde made while waiting for the perfect moment to approach. Their gazes met more than once, each time lingering a little longer. Then, finally, Hyunjin smiled—and that was all the signal Minho needed.
I can do this. I know I’ve got his attention, he told himself with a confident grin as he made his way toward him.
The blonde’s eyes followed him, curious and cautious. Minho’s pulse quickened with every step, his nerves tightening like strings. He was so focused on reaching him that he didn’t notice the doorbell ring again behind him.
“If you want,” Minho said, his voice smooth and teasing, “we could sit down and have a coffee together. I’m free—and completely open to whatever you want, handsome.”
He felt like he was floating, caught in the glow of someone so effortlessly beautiful… until a very familiar figure appeared in the doorway.
Seungmin.
His expression was cold—hurt more than angry, but enough to make Minho’s stomach drop. He hadn’t expected his boyfriend to show up, not here, not now. When Seungmin had given him a second chance, he’d hoped things would be different—that Minho would finally be ready to commit.
But even with the wedding just two weeks away… Minho had betrayed him again.

sea ¡!
Captain Chris Bahng was one of the most notorious pirates to ever sail the vast Pacific Ocean. His fame came from what many called a blessing from the sea itself. The waters under his command were always calm—but when battle struck, the waves raged violently, as if the ocean itself longed to swallow his enemies whole.
What most dismissed as a sailor’s tale was, in fact, true. The sea had blessed him—with a gift beyond imagination. Captain Bahng had a lover from beneath the waves: a merman.
It was a common legend that winning the loyalty of such a creature would bring fortune and protection.
Their story began long before Bahng became a captain—back when he was nothing but a young sailor, nameless and unproven.
One night, thunder roared and lightning split the sky, illuminating the furious waves crashing against the rocks. Amid the chaos, young Chris lay sprawled upon a jagged shore, his clothes torn to shreds, soaked to the bone, and barely clinging to life.
He was the sole survivor of a brutal battle with rival pirates. The ship had gone down slowly, dragging his crewmates into the depths.
Desperate to live, he made a vow to the sea itself: in exchange for his life, he would offer ten souls every year as tribute.
The storm raged on, and no answer came. He thought his plea had vanished with the wind—until a soft, mesmerizing melody wrapped around him.
Lifting his head, illuminated by a flash of lightning, he saw a figure rising from the dark water. A being with pale skin, full lips, brown eyes, and a face sprinkled with freckles.
From the waist down, a shimmering turquoise tail glistened, still half-submerged. The creature never fully left the sea, but it was close enough for Bahng to see it clearly—and realize just what stood before him.
For a long moment, neither spoke. Their eyes met, and the world seemed to stop. The storm silenced itself, and the ocean grew still.
The merman lifted a slender, dripping hand. Bahng hesitated, then reached out. When their fingers brushed, a spark shot through them both.
Before he could even think, the merman was close—so close he could feel the warmth of his breath against his lips. Time blurred; seconds, minutes—perhaps hours—passed as they stayed locked in that moment. Then, finally, it ended with a kiss.
He didn’t fully understand what had happened that night. But one thing was certain—Bahng knew the sea had heard him.
And from that day forward, the ocean would always be on his side.

kingdom ¡!
For Jisung, being next in line for the throne was never one of his greatest concerns. The kingdom of Haven was peaceful, and he was far too young to bear such a heavy burden.
He spent his free hours wandering through the castle, and when he felt brave enough, he ventured into the forest that stretched beyond the village.
In time, the forest became more than just a place to explore—it became the secret haven where he could meet Christopher, a boy with whom he had formed an extraordinary bond. Their first encounter had been an accident: Jisung had fallen into an animal trap, and Christopher—who had been nearby—didn’t hesitate to free him. He had a kind heart, always willing to help those who needed it most, no matter the cost.
What they shared defied labels. They never tried to define it, nor did they need to; they knew they loved each other in a way no one else would ever understand. That was why they chose to keep it a secret.
Even crucial details—the fact that Jisung was a prince, or the work Christopher did to survive—were brushed aside. They both knew a day would come when separation was inevitable, and it would be better not to meet outside the forest. Their love rested on what truly mattered: the depth of their conversations, and the quiet actions that spoke louder than any promise.
The night before Jisung was to be crowned king, their story reached its breaking point. Though his heart wasn’t in it, duty demanded he step forward, and he could no longer hide the truth. He confessed everything to Christopher: his royal blood, and that this would be their last meeting.
But Christopher wasn’t willing to let go of the one person who had seen his truest self, the one who had been by his side in the purest moments. Not after all the love they had shared. He already had a plan to bring him back.
Weeks passed after Jisung’s coronation. One of his new responsibilities as king was to face the kingdom’s most dangerous criminals and pronounce their sentences. That was when it happened—two longing gazes finally met again.
He couldn’t break the laws of the realm, yet he also couldn’t condemn the love of his life to death. And as king, he was bound to the code… but what if he no longer wanted to be king?
One look was all it took for Jisung to question his entire existence. Because he couldn’t go on without him. He wanted every part of his life to revolve around Christopher.
So they abandoned the castle, the crown, and every secret.
They never returned, because to love each other meant vanishing from the very world that sought to tear them apart.
secret ¡!
Minho’s greatest motivation in life was taking care of his little brother, Jeongin. He had been doing it for years, and it was something he genuinely enjoyed. His routine revolved around making breakfast, dropping Jeongin off at school, heading to work, and coming back home to take care of the house.
He had neglected many aspects of his own life just to dedicate time to Jeongin. That’s why, by the time he was twenty-one, he had never truly experienced love.
He worked as a waiter in a café often filled with couples, and he constantly found himself daydreaming about what it might feel like to love someone romantically. Still, he wasn’t sure how willing he was to change his life, because it would mean neglecting his little brother—and that was something he couldn’t bring himself to do. Maybe, just maybe, the right person could change his mind.
One day, a boy walked into the café. He looked a little lost, but undeniably charming. Minho approached to help—after all, it was part of his job—but this time he found himself enjoying it more than usual; the boy was truly captivating.
Their conversation flowed so naturally that Minho barely realized when they had agreed to meet up after his shift. Slowly, without even noticing, Felix began to slip into his routine. He understood Minho’s devotion to his younger brother and never resented it.
The bond between Minho and Felix grew so strong that it was hard to believe their very first meeting hadn’t been pure chance—it had been carefully set up by Jeongin himself. At sixteen, he was desperate to feel what it was like to fall in love, but Minho’s protectiveness often felt suffocating. There were so many rules, so many restrictions, that Jeongin had decided to take matters into his own hands.
With Hyunjin’s help, the plan had been simple: Felix would be lured to the café under the pretense of meeting Hyunjin, who, of course, never showed up. What was supposed to be nothing more than a trick for a few hours of freedom turned into something far bigger—an unexpected chemistry that bloomed between Minho and Felix.
Neither Jeongin nor Hyunjin had expected their plan to work out so perfectly. They only wanted a little time alone, but now they had also managed to create a love story in the process.
“Do you think it’ll work?” Jeongin asked as he walked hand in hand with Hyunjin on their way back home.
“I’m sure it will. My brother’s irresistible,” Hyunjin replied with a grin, pressing a kiss to Jeongin’s hand.
Both of them longed for even just a little freedom—moments where they could be together without interruptions, without fear.
paper ¡!
He could barely keep his eyes open. Propping his head on his arm, he tried to focus on the lecture, but it was impossible. The sad truth was clear: he’d have to endure one more class before he could finally go home and get some rest.
He was half-dreaming with his eyes open when a crumpled ball of paper hit the back of his head. Annoyed, he turned to see who the culprit was, but every one of his classmates wore the same look of innocence. With a sigh, he picked the note up from the floor, curious if anything was written inside.
“Kim Seungmin, meet me in the bathroom after class.”
There was no signature, which meant it could’ve been anyone. Chances were it was someone who didn’t like him, so meeting up probably wasn’t the brightest idea. But Seungmin was either very brave—or very foolish, depending on who you asked—and decided to go face whoever was waiting.
When the class finally ended, he made his way quickly toward the bathroom. His nerves were eating him alive. But when he saw Bangchan there, he felt an instant wave of relief. If it was his best friend, then nothing bad could possibly happen… right?
“I know this isn’t the best place to say this, and I might ruin our friendship…” Bangchan’s voice trembled as he spoke.
Seungmin froze. His brain couldn’t process what was about to happen, and for a moment, time felt suspended.
“…But I really like you, Seungminnie.”
It felt unreal—like something that only ever happened in Seungmin’s dreams.
distance !¡
May 23rd—a date Felix and Changbin had been looking forward to for months, their fifth anniversary. The plan was simple but perfect: spend the entire day together at Felix’s place, sharing memories and creating new ones.
Felix could hardly contain his excitement. He had prepared something special, a secret he’d been keeping close to his heart. To him, Changbin wasn’t just a partner—he was his soulmate. From the very first moment, their connection had been undeniable, only growing stronger with time. Changbin was his favorite person, his safe place, the one he trusted with his whole being. And for months now, Felix had been certain of what he wanted: to ask him to marry him. To promise a life together, forever.
He had spent weeks finding the perfect ring, even sneaking into cooking classes so he could make Changbin’s favorite dish to perfection. With the help of a few friends, he had arranged every last detail, setting the stage for the most important question he would ever ask.
By the time the evening rolled around, everything was ready. Felix’s heart pounded in his chest as the phone lit up with a call from Changbin.
“Babe… this is hard to say… I’ve just been transferred to a new job. In the U.S.,” Changbin’s voice cracked on the other end.
“My flight leaves tomorrow. And… there’s only one ticket.”
Felix felt his chest cave in as the phone slipped from his hands and hit the floor.
Silence filled the apartment. The decorations, the carefully prepared food, the ring—all of it suddenly looked like pieces of a dream crumbling to dust. Out of all the scenarios he had imagined, this was the one he had never prepared for. And now all he could wonder was how it was possible to love someone so deeply, only to feel in that moment that the love wasn’t returned in the same way.
Changbin would never know that by the end of the night, Felix had planned to kneel before him and ask him to spend forever together. He would never know that, in Felix’s heart, he had already been chosen as home.
insomnia¡!
Bangchan had already accepted that this would be another sleepless night. Despite trying every technique he knew, he just couldn’t fall asleep. He got out of bed and walked to the living room sofa, where he found Minho, who was, in fact, watching the rain fall through the wide windows of the apartment.
“So, you can’t sleep either, huh?” he said, not expecting to find his roommate awake when everyone else was already asleep.
Minho gave Bangchan a warm look and, with a small gesture, invited him to sit by his side.
In complete silence, they admired the rain for minutes—perhaps an hour or two—each lost in their own thoughts. It was the older one who finally decided to break the cozy atmosphere with a confession.
“You know… you’re the reason I can’t sleep. I’ve been hiding it all this time, but I think if I don’t say it, this will never end. And I really want to be able to sleep peacefully again. So, Minho… I really like you, and I’m sorry if this makes things uncomfortable.”
While Minho was still trying to process what he had just heard, Bangchan had already left, heading back to his bed to finally get some rest.
please dont leave¡!
This was the tenth time that day Felix, his voice trembling, asked Minho how he was feeling—and only two hours had passed since they had woken up.
Minho understood that Felix was the kind of person who worried about the well-being of everyone he loved, but the situation was no longer amusing; it was starting to become annoying.
“I swear you’re one of my favorite people in this room, Felix, but if you ask me how I’m doing one more time, I might just throw my water bottle at your head,” Minho said, desperation in his voice.
“It’s just that last night I had a terrible dream,” Felix’s voice shook slightly, and Minho looked at him expectantly, waiting for him to continue. “We were going through our usual routine, but for a few days you felt ignored and miserable. Then you decided to leave the group and hate all of us forever, and now I’m afraid that it might come true… so please, don’t leave.”
Minho blinked several times in disbelief. He had thought the questions were just meant to annoy him, so that explanation caught him by surprise.
“Believe me, as long as you’re here, I could never feel that way. And I have no plans of leaving this group.”
A sparkle appeared in Felix’s eyes, and he ran to hug his friend. Relief washed over him, knowing that his best friend would never leave him behind, and that dream would never come true.
