Elephants have discovered the mechanism of protection against cancer
Only 5% of elephants are dying of cancer. In humans, this figure reaches 25%
Elephants have been discovered defense mechanism against cancer, researchers report.
Researchers have tried to figure out why elephants cases of cancer is much lower than expected from such a large mammal.
Scientists from the University of Utah said that “nature has already found a way to prevent cancer,” and added that they hope to develop new therapies based on his discovery.
According to one theory, every cell in the body could potentially become cancerous, and accordingly, the more cells in the body, the higher the chance of cancer.
Since the elephant is 100 times more cells than human, according to this theory, this mammal with a large trunk has to be 100 times more likely to develop cancer.
However, according to a study published in the journal Journal of the American Medical Association, only 5% of the elephants cancer leads to death. In humans, this figure reaches 25%.
DNA
Researchers from the University of Utah decided to study the DNA of an elephant, hoping to find the answer to this riddle.
Cancer is the result of mutations in the DNA of a single cell, resulting in cell starts to grow uncontrollably.
However, there are also animals such detector cell mutations that allow the body or destroy such cells, or a mechanism to correct them.
One of these detectors is called TP53. This gene inhibits cell division, DNA in which any dangerous errors, as long as they are not corrected, or the cell can not be killed by the body.
In humans, only one gene TP53, while elephants detected 20 copies TP53.
As a result, the body gets rid of the elephants is much more effective from the out-of-control cells.
“According to all logic, the elephants must be incredibly high incidence of cancer. In fact, they would disappear as a species so high their risk of cancer,” – said Dr. Joshua Schiffman, a specialist in pediatric oncology, who participated in the study.
According to him, the example of elephants can be seen that nature has already learned to fight cancer, and in the future it will help to develop new therapies for people. For example, you could make human cells more “elephant-like” in their DNA by adding extra copies of the gene TP53.
Reproductive senescence
Professor Mel Greaves, however, of the London-based Institute of Cancer Research said that actually need to understand why people have such a high percentage of cancer.
“In regard to the adaptive systems, we are not different from chimpanzees, but we are sick with cancer more frequently than chimps,” – he said in an interview with BBC BBC.
“In my opinion, people – unique view, as they have an extremely rapid process of social evolution.”
Among other things, he pointed to a sharp increase in the number of people leading an unhealthy lifestyle, which increases the chances of cancer. We are talking about obesity, sunbathing in the sun and smoking, for example.
“You have not seen any smoking elephant!” – He adds.
Menopause can also be one of the reasons why people have not developed a more effective mechanism of protection against cancer.
In terms of evolution, the “success” of the individual is determined by the number of children, and not life expectancy of the individual.
Elephants have the greatest reproductive success observed at the end of life, while people may live for decades after menopause.
This means that from an evolutionary point of view, there is no sense to develop a protection against cancer in the elderly.
“People were able to extend their social life far beyond the reproductive senility. It could not be any other kind,” – says Professor Greaves.

Brain Freeze: Why ice cream can be a headache?
One of the most delicious desserts ever invented by man, causes headache, the most unpleasant – as if the brain numb. According to some, “cold” headache (or as it is sometimes called “Brain Freeze”) is familiar to every third.
That cold desserts can cause pain, it is known for a long time, but the reasons why this happens are still a subject of controversy.
The first report of this phenomenon dates back to 1939. “Your nose and fingertips numb, and if you start to rub the forehead, you will manifest cold headache” – the book says Rebecca Timbres “We did not ask for utopia: Quaker family in Soviet Russia.”
Despite the fact that the phenomenon discussed in the medical literature as early as 1850, the recognition of the International Headache Society phenomenon is only in 1988. Then to the fore as a “headache caused by cold.”
The third edition of the International Classification of headaches, published in 2013, a group of scientists came to the conclusion that this type of pain occurs only when the cold affects the head or mouth. As soon as the stimulus fades, fades, and headache.
Most often, the cold sore area in front of the head. However, in some cases, the pain occurs near the ears, or as if the right eye.
This rapid change in blood flow can cause pain
However, wherever this proved to be a pain in the next time, it will surely be “sharp, short and sharp.”
Anyone who has ever had to face a storm of freezing the brain will tell you that this little pleasant.
As the cold headache often associated with irritation of the upper palate, the scientific name of the phenomenon – sfenopalativnaya ganglionevralgiya, ie “neuralgia-palatine ganglion base” (ganglion convey a sense of the palate with the brain).
It is believed that the pain is the result of constriction or dilation of blood vessels, which occurs in response to cold.
As soon as our body feels cold, it sends to the brain warm blood as an antidote. This rapid change in blood flow can cause pain.
Kholodov headache was also considered a subspecies of migraines, since both phenomena are associated with disordered reaction to stimuli. Expansion and contraction of blood vessels that occurs during cold headaches, similar to the reasons for which there is a migraine.
According to another version, the cold head ache – an example of “referred pain”, mysterious, but at the same time, a well-studied phenomenon in which stimulation of one part of the body can cause pain in a completely different place.
Palate and brain
In 2004, the Turkish neurologist Matsit Selekler investigated those who suffered from migraines and headaches tenzionnyh (ie the pain that comes from stress or high stress).
Together with his colleagues spent Selekler “test the ice.” In the experiment, subjects were asked to press a cube of ice tongue to the palate.
As a result of a headache in 60% of participants in the experiment, 80% of them in the past suffered from migraines.

Approve Your Google AdSense in 1 day - My experience
Google AdSense is one of the best advertising program in this glob. Many of us wants to use this features on blogspot or 3rd party TLD(top level domain) or youtube channel for making some bucks. But now a days Google is very strict about his policy. So AdSense approval is very tough for those who don’t know the proper way or who don’t know what Google wants. I know you are very anxious about AdSense application rejection. That’s why you are reading this post. Forget all your confusion and just do it what I will discuss. One things to keep in mind that what I will discuss here, all are from my personal experience by which I succeeded. Ok I don’t want to boring my discussing, lets go to the point.
Domain Age: Generally domain age should 7 to 8 days old enough for applying for AdSense account. I can’t say that I am totally right about that cause I really don’t know about Google’s complex algorithm. But if you are from India, China, Pakistan then the average domain age for certain geo-location should be 6 months or more. Don’t be upset it is always not true cause I got approval for my site which is 8 days age.
Site verification: Google has a great free Webmaster Tools by which you can know your site performance, keyword, link to your site and many more. So if you want to use this features you have to authenticate your site first. You can authenticate by two ways. I don’t want to discuss it here. One thing to keep in mind that you need to authenticate it from your email which you want to use it for AdSense account.
Google Analytics: Again a great free features by Google. You can track visitors by geo location, browser, operating system etc. You should use the Google Analytic code with your site. This is a trusted factor for the approval.
Xml sitemap: Put a xml sitemap on your server and link it to google webmaster tools. By which google can index your site very fast. Now you think everyone talking about same thing which I have discussed here. What’s new? This is the basic steps everyone should follow. But now I will discuss how I got approved my account. First I bought a domain and hosting. After that I installed wordpress for my bloging platform. Please chose attractive professional theme. I have used my existing email account, or you can use new one for site verification and added Google Analytic code. Posted some interesting topics with some image. But keep in mind please give proper credit of the picture. My post content not very lengthy approx 200 or 300. Some says that your content should at least 400 words. But I do not agree with this. The main things all the content are unique. After that I created a youtube channel and upload a video and monetize it. After monetization approved I linked my youtube channel to Google AdSense. I don’t have any existing AdSense account so I created an new one. Next day I received a message that AdSense application request successful. After that I applied for my newly created website and generated ad code and put it on my site. It showed blank add. Next day I got an email about successful AdSense account approval. One think keep in mind that you should make 3 pages like About Us, Terms & Condition, and Contact Us. I don’t know how this page help for approving AdSense account. But I made this page. Now try and let me know this tips helped or not. If you want to know anything you can ask me by commenting. Best Of luck.

Artificial leaf could be a new source of energy
Researchers at the center of the BIS-fuel (Bio-Inspired Solar Fuel Production) developing a very remarkable invention. Created artificial leaf, wherein the reactions related to photosynthesis, but separated in them not only oxygen, but hydrogen.
Hydrogen is currently considered as one of the most important alternative energy sources. Cells whose operation is based precisely on the square root, are constantly refined to produce the most “clean” electricity. The problem, however, is the acquisition and storage of hydrogen. The solution may be artificial leaves that would produce this element. Such devices you need to provide only water and light.
To create artificial leaf, the scientists first looked at very carefully as the process of photosynthesis occurs in nature. It turned out that the plants operate very inefficiently. They utilize only 0.3 percent.reaching them sunlight. The researchers also found that the nature photosynthesis takes place in two stages. The first of these is quick and involves the conversion of light into chemical energy, and the second, free, on the use of energy obtained to convert water and carbon dioxide. – We looked at the details and saw that Mother Nature made an advanced step. It consists in the fact that half of electrons participates in the rapid response, so that occurred at optimal performance and the remaining particles gradually reduce the water – said prof. Thomas Moore of Arizona State University, to which the center of the BIS-fuel. The project not only managed to get close to creating a new source of hydrogen, but also much better we got to know the processes occurring in nature. As a result, you may be able to develop innovative solar energy systems, which will be similar to those found in plants. Polio returns?
New infectious disease, whose symptoms are similar to polio attack in California for at least five children – have announced researchers from Stanford University. The researchers point out that so far, these cases are rare and there is no indication to the epidemic.
According to the AFP-cited report by US doctors, five California children suffered a sudden paralysis of the legs or arms as a result of contracting an unidentified virus. Symptoms resemble those caused by a virus of polio, responsible for the disease with the same name (also known as polio).
Although polio has been the world almost eliminated, other viruses can attack the spinal cord, causing symptoms close polio – says neurologist at Stanford University, Keith Van Haren, the lead author of that study. The five of them children, affected by symptoms resembling polio was vaccinated against polio. Mali patients had similar symptoms in two days occurred in one complete paralysis of the extremities (one or both). In three children – even before detection of acute symptoms – respiratory problems have been noted. Lasting for half a year treating children not as yet yielded any results. As added researchers from Stanford in two children from this group found a rare entero virus 68, which previously suspected of causing polio-like symptoms.
However, in the other three was not observed entero virus. “We want to emphasize that the incidence of this disease is very, very rare” – said Van Haren. He ordered, but all parents of children affected by symptoms of paralysis, to immediately seek medical advice. According to the BBC, over the past year and a half in California up to 20 people, mostly children, could be infected with the new disease, even though the majority of them had not gone to it in such a harsh manner in these patients. Polio, also called numerous repeat palsy, is a viral disease that affects the specific neurons in the spinal cord. In one of the 200 cases cause paralysis.
It can be life threatening if muscles are affected by respiration. After the introduction of vaccines against polio in the 50s of last century, it succeeded in developed countries to eliminate polio. Still, it is rampant in countries without access to these vaccines, especially in Afghanistan, Nigeria and Pakistan. (PAP) szl / MRT / smoke /

Facebook plans to launch a satellite that will provide Internet access
Facebook plans to launch a satellite that will provide Internet access to remote areas of Africa, wrote the founder of the social network Mark Zuckerberg in his page.
In partnership with the French provider Eutelsat, Facebook hopes that the first satellite will be launched in 2016. “We’re going to keep working to connect the world to the Internet – even if it means going beyond our planet,” said Mark Zuckerberg.
The project is part of Facebook, Internet.org, which has come under harsh criticism in some countries. In some areas, especially in India, the company plans to sharply reacted to Facebook.
Internet.org experimenting with different ways of providing the Internet to remote places. “Over the last year Facebook is exploring ways to use satellites for Internet access” – says Mr. Zuckerberg. “To connect people living in remote areas, the traditional infrastructure is often difficult and inefficient to use, so we have to invent new technologies.”
“Eutelsat deployed and Facebook Internet services designed to facilitate the connection of many users in Africa to the Internet regardless of the range of fixed and mobile terrestrial networks.”
Several companies already offer Internet access via satellite, but it’s a costly option that is not available the majority of people in the developing world.

Women can see more colors
(Fig. Subbotina Anna – Fotolia.com)
The world in the eyes of women is far more colorful than that of men. According to the researchers it is the result of evolution. Men’s eye never so much as women do not have adapted to distinguish between hundreds and maybe even thousands of colors.
Researchers from Arizona State University looked at the codes of DNA in 236 people from Africa, Asia and Europe. Particular attention is paid to the differences in the gene OPN1LW, which is responsible for encoding a protein called opsin L-type
Opsin found in the retina and is responsible, among others, for seeing in color. This object is meet the three types of protein. S opsin captures the colors blue and purple, opsin M – green and opsin L reacts to red. Then the information is processed in a suppository contained in the eyes, where the identification of the color of the observed object. During the test DNA found out that in different human gene OPN1LW may be present in up to 85 versions – it is three times more than in the other genes. Such a large variety can have a significant impact on the range of colors that can be distinguished.
Three different colors, from left: Pompeian pink, scarlet, carmine
Moreover, OPN1LW, as another gene which encodes the opsin M, is located on chromosome X. As is known in women can be found two such chromosomes, while in men pair consists of one chromosome X and Y, one of exponents sex beautiful may occur two times more opsin M and L. The researchers estimate that this applies to about 40 percent. the female population. The result of this increased content of opsin in the retina is either associated with noticing additional, new colors or improves our ability to distinguish shades of color. Why did the X chromosome is important? The researchers believe that the ability to better recognize colors by women is related to this, that they need to distinguish whether the data fruit is edible or not. Men tend to need only distinguish colors and shapes of animals. When hunting was not important shade of fur animals. Research Professor.Israel Abramova, a psychologist from Brooklyn College, has shown that men are weaker in distinguishing shades found in the center of the spectrum of colors: blue, green and yellow.Meanwhile, the ladies are much worse in the eyes tracking fast moving objects from a distance and catching their visual details. – Optical Spectrum in most men requires a slightly longer wavelength than the spectrum of women to register the same color – said prof. Abramov. Because the longer wavelengths are associated with warmer colors, men can see it in slightly different shades – eg. Color, which in the eyes of the ladies is orange, gentlemen perceive as ore. Similarly, the grass, almost always women see it as more green than men, for whom it is slightly yellowish. Unfortunately, therefore, with a color vision are the responsibility of the protein encoded mainly by genes on the X chromosome, when he will be in men damaged, there is a second copy, which could well encode opsin. Hence disorder called color blindness occurs mainly in men

Many people are not fond of rats. They suffer because of the reputation of dirty pests, carrying hundreds of nasty diseases.
But today their image is slowly improving. People are increasingly entrust the rats honorable role of domestic animals. It also appears that under the right conditions, they can save lives.
In Africa, the forgotten minefields receive life and badly maim thousands of people. The organization APOPO (Anti-Personnel landmines Detection Product Development), however, found an unusual ally in the fight against this threat. They are the rats trained under the project HeroRAT unusual.
Rats are an excellent and highly effective detector min. The innate intelligence and superb sense of smell allows them to easily find abandoned explosive. In addition, they are light enough that they can enter the cargo found no threat of detonation. No heroic rat never killed while on duty.
Rats are also extremely efficient. A search of 200 square meters takes them about 20 minutes. Man with metal detector would spend the same area five days.
Animals are trained to notify their coaches when we find explosives. Their efforts are of course always rewarded. Career heroic rat takes about 6 years.
Then he goes into retirement, which spends the most exclusive conditions.

When the animal was born, a lot of the time it took him to realize that he no longer has about yourself shell from the shell.
For a long time toddler remained in the position I’ve ever held in the egg, though he did not see the slightest difference.
Still he does not know that is just beginning for him a new life!
“If for some reason an egg is too hard, the little chameleon can be difficult to come out to the outside world – and then need help from outside” – says Nick. Fortunately, this toddler is someone who takes care of him, and is no longer safe with the rest of his siblings.
