I realize why I'm so affected by the election outcome. I know I was supposed to tell my story, so here it is. I was sexually assaulted twice by people who loved me in my late teens. The first time, I was anally raped and left vomiting in my bed. The second time, I was held down and forcibly taken, because apparently I wanted it. At the same time, I was being psychologically abused by my mother. I went on a downward spiral and almost died. I relived the same horror story for years. You don't know something is wrong until you are awoken. I finally broke free of the cycle a few years ago. I've not spoken about this because I was ashamed. I'm not anymore. It wasn't my fault.
